Chapter 34

Dealing with bullies

Harry was walking at night around the seventh floor, after one of his training sessions when he heard some girls yelling at someone.

"How dare you Looney!, look at what you did to my hand!."

The sound came from an empty classroom to his left. He approached it to look and saw Luna being surrounded by three older girls.

"Is not my fault Cho, You should not have tried to take my necklace, I warned you it was protected." Luna said impassively like she did not understand the situation she was in.

"Your trashy necklace belongs in the trash, like you Looney." Cho Chang said while the other two girls laughed.

"It's not trash, my mom made that." Luna tried to explain.

"No one cares!. How are you going to compensate me for hurting my hand." Cho Chang then showed Luna her hand that seemed to have been burned, there was a mark in the shape of a cork on it.

"That would not have happened if you didn't try to take it," Luna explained.

Cho Chang's face contorted with anger. She then proceeded to push Luna, who fell to the floor on her butt.

Cho Chang then pulled her wand out and pointed it at Luna's face.

"Let's start with a Furunculous curse," Cho Chang said with a smirk.

Before she could cast anything, her wand flew from her hand and she gasped in surprise.

"Let's do something else instead." The voice of Harry was heard from the entrance of the classroom. He was holding Cho's wand.

"Potter? what are you doing here?." One of Cho Chang's companions. A girl named Marietta Edgecombe asked.

Cho Chang was confusedly looking for her wand when she saw it in Harry's hand.

"Potter!, give me my wand back. You are not really going to defend Looney right?" Cho said.

Harry just ignored them and went to where Luna was and helped her up.

"Go back to your house dorm, I'll take care of this," Harry said to her.

Luna just looked at Harry for a moment before smiling and saying. "Ok"

And then She went out of the classroom while humming some song.

The three girls still could not believe that the famous Harry Potter just came in to save a crazy first-year Ravenclaw that no one seem to care about.

The girl next to Marieta seems to recall something.

"So, the rumors are true then?." the girl said.

"What rumors?" Asked Cho Chang

"Some of the older girls claimed to have seen Looney talking with Harry Potter. Of course, no one believed them and thought they might have confused some other blonde girl with Looney. I mean…it was impossible to believe. But is true isn't it?" She looked at Harry.

"Ohh I love it. I am going to have so much fun ruining your reputation Potter. " Said Cho Chang with a smile before she continued.

"Of course, If you apologize properly and return my wand right now…Maybe we can forget about what just happened." She offered.

Harry wasn't listening to them. He turned towards the door and using Cho's wand, he cast a powerful locking charm, followed by a privacy one.

There were ten minutes left to curfew and he must be in his bedroom before that. He wants to keep his image of a proper student for as long as he can.

"W-what are you doing?. Y-you, don't really want to fight us right?. There are three of us and one of you. And we are in our third year." Marietta said that, but in reality, she didn't have much confidence in their fighting skills.

Two of the girls pointed their wands at Harry, while Cho Chang just gave him a threatening gaze since she didn't have a wand.

Harry moved his left hand, and the two other wands flew through the air until they stopped right on top of the palm of his hand.

Before the girls had time to say anything, Harry moved the wand he was holding in his right hand and ropes suddenly materialized right next to the girls.

The ropes seem to have a life of their own and tied the girls with swift moves.

The girls started screaming for help now, with a mix of pain and fear.

"Silencio."

With another move of his wand, girls were now unable to make a sound.

They looked at Harry with fear in their eyes, and tears started to appear in their eyes.

"You three are very lucky…under different circumstances, you would already be dead….or worse."

He walked towards them and stopped very close to Cho Chang.

"Since I cannot do that…I will do the next best thing. The mind can be a very fickle thing. " He looked directly at Cho Chang.

"Let's start with you. Look into my eyes."

Cho Chang did just that, She looked into Harry's green eyes that seemed to become shinier every second that passed. She seems to be in a trance, looking into those eyes with the color of the worst curse of them all.

She felt her consciousness leaving her, then…nothing.

An hour later, the three girls woke up on the floor of the classroom. They did not remember how they got there or what were they supposed to be doing that night. They found their wands on the ground, right next to them.

They quickly checked all their clothes, and they heard some terrible stories about Slytherins attacking girls at night. But after seeing that everything seemed to be where it should be, they breathed in relief.

Eventually, they concluded they must have been the victim of some prank or maybe they were practicing some new spell and it backfired.

They went back to their rooms quietly, hoping they would not get in trouble for being outside, late at night, and decided they would not tell anything to the teachers, lest they get in trouble.
