21 Chapter 20: Fighting trolls.

Liam panicked, Hermione was not in the Hall, he didn't think that situation would turn out like this. He even thought that he could avoid fighting the troll 'Who would willfully want to fight a giant monster? Be a wizard or a muggle'.

The Slytherin house prefect was guiding the Slytherin house students to the dormitory, Liam sneaked passed the other students and started rushing towards the Girls bathroom. He would check if she saw in the bathroom if not then he would look elsewhere.

Liam heard a loud footsteps near the bathroom, "The troll is already there. I need to hurry."

Entering the broken bathroom door he saw Hermione stuck to the sink desperately trying to get her hand out from the sink's pipe which was wrapped around her hand, the troll was just about to hit her with his big wooden club. Liam who already had his wand in his hands, casted a spell on the club. "Leve pondus"

It was a spell to make things weightless. This makes object like balloons, so no matter how hard he tries to hit something with that big wooden club nothing will happen even if Hermione were to get hit by that now it would be like being hit by a pillow.

The troll turned around dropping the wooden club from his hands and started walking towards Liam. Hermione shouted, "Liam run!! You can't defeat a troll, call for a professor."

The troll as he had entered breaking the door, the broken pieces were still on the ground.

Liam waved his wand, "Wingardium leviosa" All the small sharp pieces of wood were floating in front of Liam.

Hermione was shocked to see the progress Liam had made with the spell. She now felt that maybe Liam will win.

As Liam didn't was Hermione to get hurt accidently he moved to a side a bit so that he could cast the other spell.

The troll roared, Liam didn't hesitate and casted the next spell, "Waddiwasi"

The floating broken pieces of wood shot towards the troll hitting his eyes. Blinding him from one eye. The troll shouted in pain, he became aggressive and dashed towards Liam.

Trolls when aggressive are like bulls Liam waited for the right moment and then jumped out of the troll's way, the troll ran into the wall. His head hitting the wall so hard that he fell unconscious.

Two little wizards came rushing in the bathroom, "Hermione!!"

Harry and Ron had arrived at the scene, Ron was shocked as he saw a troll, "A Troll, merlin's beard!! he's huge."

"It looks like the troll is unconscious, is that Liam? What is he doing here?." Harry was confused to see Liam there.

"Would you please, stop chatting and help Liam he has just fought a troll."

Liam was also lying on the ground tired from the fight he just had, he was not physically tired but mentally. Just the thrill of fighting a troll had exhausted him.

He stood up, "Don't worry about me. I am fine."

"Let's help, Hermione first" Liam walked towards Hermione, "Who did this, this pipe has been transfigured with a spell. We can't do anything about this we have to call the professors."

"Liam I didn't know you were this strong, you defeated a troll by your own." Harry praised Liam.

"No I am not strong, it's just my luck. The troll ran towards the wall smashing his head and fell unconscious." Liam retorted

Ron who was listening in on the conversation was very jealous of Liam, "Trolls are dumb and slow even I would have been able to defeat a troll alone."

Just as he said that with a load roar another troll entered the bathroom.

The troll was just behind Harry and Ron.

"It looks like you are in luck Ron, I would very much like to see you defeat a troll." Liam taunted, he knew that Ron was just saying nonsense but he didn't like the way Ron had belittled fighting a troll.

Harry and Ron had already distanced themselves from the troll. The troll was already in his aggressive state as he saw the other troll unconscious. He roared in anger and started breaking all the stuff in the bathroom. Slowing making his way towards the three little wizards.

Ron not knowing what to do ran towards the troll like an idiot while shouting, "AHHH!!!"

The troll had his huge wooden club ion his hands, he swung his wooden club to hit Ron but just as it was about to hit Ron, Liam had already casted the weightless spell.

Even if it was weight less, Ron fainted as it hit him. The hit had caused no damage to Ron but the fear of getting hit had made him fall unconscious.

Harry shouted, "Noo!! Ron"

"Don't worry he's okay I cast a weightless spell on his club, he has fainted, I think." Liam explained, "Don't try to get near the troll, you will only be walking towards your own doom."

The troll had broken the sinks, and huge chunks of those broken sinks were just below the troll legs.

Before the troll made a move towards Ron, Liam casted another spell. "Levicorpus"

This mad the trolls whole body turn upside down and levitate in air, after which he casted, "Alarte Ascendare" making the fallen chunks of the broken sink propel upwards which hit the troll's head causing him to also fall unconscious, He then un did his first spell so that the upside down levitating troll fell to the ground. Harry ran towards Ron to check up on him,"Ron! are you okay"

The half unconscious Ron started muttering, "Mom let me sleep its Christmas….zzz"

Harry was dumbfounded, "How can someone fall asleep in such a situation. Did he hit his head or something?"

The events which happened in the bathroom were very loud, which had caused the professors to run towards the bathroom.

The professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, and few other professor were had come. As they entered the bath room they saw two trolls unconscious on the ground with Ron lying down in Harry's arms.

Hermione whose hands were ties by the sink's pipe and Liam who was holding his wand in his hands in the middle of the bathroom breathing heavily.

"In merlin's name, what happened here? What are you four doing here?" Prof. McGonagall was worriedly angry and shocked.

Hermione who was still stuck to the sink pipe replied, "Professor it's all my fault. I read about trolls in a book. I thought that I could defeat him but my spell failed and I got stuck. If it weren't for Liam I would have…" She didn't say anything after but Prof. McGonagall understood what she wanted to say.

"Miss. Granger I didn't think you would be the one to make such a foolish mistake. You have disappointed me, for your foolish behavior 10 points will be deducted." She looked towards Liam, Harry and Ron, "And for you three, defeating two troll is not a simple deed, no first year student could have survived a single troll and here you have defeated two. I reward you all three 10 points each."

"Professor, Ron and I didn't do anything, it was all Liam who defeated the trolls." Harry corrected Prof. McGonagall.

"Is that so? Then Mr. Gremory is given 10 more points. Take Mr. Weasley to the infirmary."

Professor McGonagall undid the transfigured pipe, Harry who was Holding the half unconscious Ron noticed Snape hiding his wounds with his robe.

Liam also had some small injuries and Hermione's hands were swollen, they also went to the infirmary with Harry and Ron.

The prof. McGonagall and Snape stayed behind to check the troll's condition.

"The wooden shrapnel has blinded the troll and he also has a lot of small wooden pieces stuck to him on his body. The other troll was turned upside down and then fell to the ground. Such interesting use of simple spells." Snape said in a serious tone, "No other first year student would have been able to use simple spells with such proficiency."

Prof. McGonagall was also shocked to see that it was not because of luck that the trolls were defeated but because of pure skill and spell proficiency.

"Such talent, I am afraid he may become blinded by power and walk on the dark side." Snape said in worry.

"Unless we guide his talent and nurture. No one is bad from start its circumstances which lead you to do those acts, Mr. Gremory was protecting his friend. He didn't fight these troll with ill intent." McGonagall retorted.

"We don't know what will happen in the future…" Snape mumbled in a voice only he could hear, "All we can do is not let that thing control him and turn him evil even if that were to not happen, it will be his own choice, To be the apostle who betters the world or be the devil who destroys it."
