13 Transfiguration and Fate

Today is technically our third day of classes and the fifth day in this school. Thinking about it, seven years become such a long time, and once you start falling into a routine, it just passes by in a blink. I can't believe it's been 11 years since the start of my story in this world. As I was thinking, I looked beside me, and Daphne was still fast asleep. I knew the last few days are taking a bit of a toll on her, so I used my healing ability on her, clearing her of any fatigue, stress, and discomfort she has in her body.

This is one of the extensive uses of my ability that I gained insight into the full capacity of my healing powers. I can use it in a small amount, like a battery using just a bit of a percentage of power throughout the year, and it recharges back to full at the beginning of every year unless I use it in a full burst to heal someone with a grave injury. "Good morning, and did you just heal me?" she asked as she was getting up. I just nodded, as I was more focused on the soul tempering exercise. As we both have already built an acceptable soul realm, this exercise just consists of going inside the soul realm and meditating for five years. It may unlock some family bloodline abilities, and I already have all of my family bloodline abilities, but Daphne might awaken hers, which will be interesting.

After she had woken up completely, we first completed the soul tempering, which has two ways. An active way, where we have to go inside our soul realm and meditate for 12 hours every day, then our soul will be tempered within a year. Or we can do a passive one where we let our souls meditate passively and let it do its things for about 3 to 5 years. We don't do anything related to soul magic or anything soul-related and just let it do its things. We will know it is complete when we feel the difference, and for Daphne, it just may unlock her bloodline abilities if there is one.

After both of us agreed on the passive exercise, as none of us has any way to sit down for 12 hours every day for an entire year, I am wondering if I could have gotten a shadow clone, but oh well, I then would have regretted not getting any of my current abilities because they are great, and I won't trade them for anything. We started our soul meditation first and then moved on to our physical and mental training. When it was finally 7:00 am, we went back to our dorms and got ready for today's classes, which are Transfiguration and Potions. After getting ready, I just lay in my bed when Michael knocks on our door, which I answer. "Oh, so you are either done with your morning routine early or you are late," I just answered, "Early, and come in." He walked in and just kicked Terry out of the bed. "I will curse you for your entire life; I swear on my name." He shouted, and we both just stared back at him. "Oh, you are here as well, but why did you let him kick me?" I said. "I have been trying to wake you up for the last twenty minutes; he did it in a matter of seconds." He said in a defeated voice. "Fair enough," I turned to Michael, "Do you want me to wait, or am I going to the Great Hall for breakfast? Because I am pretty hungry this morning." He said, "Yeah, let's just wait for a couple of minutes; let them come. I know everybody is almost done with their routine. Let's just wait for them in the common room." I nodded, and we waited for the rest of the boys. Surprisingly, the last one was somehow Anthony. His reasoning: he ate too much cake last night. We all understood and collectively made our way to the Great Hall. The girls were already there; I sat beside Daphne, and she looked at me, then at my pudding, then at me. I could just feel her desires for my pudding. I sighed, resigned myself to the fate, took a bite from my now hers pudding, and gave it to her, looking at our antics. Padme finally asked, "You know both of you act like a married couple," trying to tease us. Daphne, with her cold attitude, just said, "Because we are." I just looked at her with my mouth agape because she has never been this unhinged and straightforward. In my mind, I was going, 'What in the actual fu—I mean, hell is going on with her?' Terry choked on his food, Stephen spit out his drink right into Michael's plate, and Michael was probably thinking of easiest ways to kill someone without getting noticed and the best place to hide their body. Kevin started laughing, thinking it was a joke, and when I didn't have much of a reaction, he just looked shocked. Anthony, being a pureblood, already knew about us and didn't have much of a reaction. So did Morag, but the rest of the girls were shocked and accepted reality very quickly, moving on before asking about details.

Time came for our first Transfiguration class. We all went into her classroom; it looked like we were the first to arrive. Lisa and Su immediately wanted to pet the cat, but I said, "Bad idea, don't do it; you will regret it." They both immediately listened and went back to their seats. I sat with Stephen; then came the Slytherin and Hufflepuff, and finally, the Gryffindor i had a thought ' somehow this is the only class that all of the first years can sit together Deputy Headmistress privileges or something '.

Of course, Ron and surprisingly Seamus were late, as Harry seemed closer to Hermione and sat with her. I saw Neville and smiled, and he nodded back. The same thing happened with Blaise and Tracey, who smiled and waved at me. Daphne and Blaise, finally after about fifteen minutes, Ron and Seamus showed up. Ron immediately opened his mouth, "Mate, can you imagine the look on McGonagall's face if we were late?" The professor changed back to her original form and went towards Ron and Seamus. "Perhaps it will be more useful if I transfigured one of you into a pocket watch; then perhaps one of you will be on time." Seamus said, "We got lost." Then the professor just looked at him and said with a straight face, "Then perhaps a map, Mr. Finnigan." And he shut up. The professor waved them towards their seats, and Lisa and Su thanked me quietly as I saved them from an embarrassment.

"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned." She looked around the classroom and taught us about different signs, formulas, multiple different motions, spells, and how they work. After a while, she conjured matchsticks in front of us and told us to transfigure them into a needle. Daphne and I did it in an instant, earning 20 points for our house. I helped the boys, and Daphne and Padme helped the girls, earning us another 15 points.

Harry, who was sitting in the row next to me, asked, "Excuse me, Solaris, how did you do managed to do it?" I said, "Well, you are doing everything right except imagining it. You need to imagine the matchstick turning into a silver needle and keep the mental image of a needle when casting." He understood and did it. His matchstick turned into a wooden needle, and Hermione managed to do it. By the end of it, Harry also managed to do it as well.

Next up was Potions. After that was done, we didn't have any other classes. The night came; we had our dinner, spent a lot of time chatting and discussing different things. Finally, the night came, and as usual, I went to the Room of Requirement with Daphne. I didn't do much other than practicing my magic through the wand and helped Daphne a bit with the Ritual magic. Then she went on to study her potions, and I went on to get started on wards.

The next day came, and today was actually our first flying lessons, with Hufflepuff. No drama happened, unlike the other side of it. Harry still somehow became the youngest Seeker in Hogwarts history. I didn't pay attention to any reason, as now I know for sure that there is something like plot armor or fate that corrects the course, no matter what you do. So, it's best for me not to meddle with it; who knows what kind of backlash I might face. So I won't even bother.

As days go by, the fabled day came—the day from which all the trouble seemed to start: October First.
