Dumbledore walked into his office and sat behind his desk. Snape was already waiting for him, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Dumbledore sighed and looked at Snape with a tired expression.
Dumbledore in the summertime holiday did think about to Felix. Right now other than existence of Felix everything going on as it should be.
Felix was a wild card as well as a mystery.
They did not expect to see him and now the fact that he is living in the school made Dumbledore feel different.
"I've spoken with my connections at Uagadou, but they couldn't find any information about Felix," Dumbledore said. "It seems that he truly is a mystery."
Snape raised an eyebrow. "That's highly unusual. Even the most obscure wizards and witches have some sort of history or background."
Snape could not feel good about the fact that Felix does not have any background. It was true that they were wizard but even wizard their own common sense when it comes to these kind of things.
In the end, nobody born just as it is, everbody should have some sort of family line and background.
When it comes to wizards, the family line becomes more important to understand somebody.
The fact that they are not able to see these kind of things, made Snape feel different about to Felix even more than usual.
"I agree, but perhaps Felix is an exception," Dumbledore replied. "We'll just have to keep an eye on him and see if anything comes to light."
Snape nodded slowly. "Very well, Headmaster. But I must say, I don't trust him. He seems too cunning and manipulative for someone so young."
Snape said what he thinks directly. He believed that the behavior of Felix have some sort of difference in it. He could not name but he thought about it.
He believed that something about Felix behavior and talking style is not right.
His actions and behavior against them have differences, when he talks, he speaks like a child would but his actions and movements shows that he improves himself and decide what to do in a timely manner.
Dumbledore chuckled softly. "You always were one to be cautious, Severus. But I do believe that Felix has the potential to be a great wizard. We just need to guide him in the right direction."
Snape scoffed. "And what direction is that, exactly? He seems to be doing just fine on his own."
Dumbledore leaned back in his chair and steepled his fingers. "I believe that Felix needs guidance in his magical studies. He has a great deal of raw talent, but he needs someone to help him hone his skills and teach him how to use his magic responsibly."
Snape rolled his eyes. "And I suppose that someone is you?"
Dumbledore smiled. "Actually, I was thinking of assigning a mentor for Felix. Someone who can work with him one-on-one and help him reach his full potential."
Snape snorted. "Good luck finding someone willing to take on that task."
Dumbledore chuckled. "I have a few candidates in mind. But for now, let us focus on keeping an eye on Felix and making sure he doesn't get into any trouble."
Snape nodded and walked out of the office, muttering to himself. Dumbledore sat back in his chair and sighed. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Felix than met the eye, but for now, he would have to wait and see.
