As Felix waited outside of Dumbledore's room, he couldn't help but feel nervous about what would happen next. He looked around the hallway, taking in the intricate details of the ancient stones that made up the walls. The flickering torches provided just enough light to illuminate the hallway, creating shadows that seemed to dance in the corners.
After what felt like an eternity, Professor McGonagall emerged from Dumbledore's room. She looked stern, but not unkind, as she approached Felix.
"Come with me, Mr. Felix," she said, motioning for him to follow her.
Felix fell into step behind her, his mind racing with questions and doubts. They walked in silence for a few moments before McGonagall spoke up.
"I have spoken with Albus, and he believes that it would be best for you to stay at Hogwarts for the time being," she said.
Felix nodded, feeling relieved that he wouldn't be alone in this new world.
"Be sure to work hard on your classes and cherish the opportunity given to you."
"I understand," he said quietly.
"Welcome to Hogwarts, Mr. Felix," she said, then smiled.
McGonagall led Felix through a winding hallway and stopped in front of a wooden door. She produced a key from her pocket and unlocked the door, gesturing for him to step inside.
The room was small but cozy, with a single bed, a desk, and a bookshelf. The walls were adorned with pictures of famous wizards and witches, and a small window let in a stream of sunlight.
"This will be your room, Felix," McGonagall said with a smile. "It's not much, but it will be your home for the time being. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask."
Felix looked around the room and nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He had been worried about where he would stay, but this room seemed comfortable enough. "Thank you, Professor," he said.
McGonagall nodded
"I know you have no gallons or anything for your gear needed at Hogwarts."
"Hogwarts will grant you a wand, robes, and basic gear for the time being. When you grow up, you are going to pay back Hogwarts.
"For a wand, I will lead you tomorrow morning to the best place for wands to look for a suitable wand for you. Other things will be handled in no time.
"You need to wake up early and go to sleep."
After finishing her talk, Mcgonagall closed the door, leaving Felix alone in his new room. He walked over to the bed and sat down, looking around once more.
