Chapter 55

Harry was stirring as he woke up.

"Hey, he is waking up. Get one of the black-robed escorts! They wanted to question him."

The voice of a youth said something somewhere besides him.

He still felt pain. His body felt like it had burned; every cell of it was sore. And the shaking of the ground below him didn't make it easier.

Once Harry opened his eyes, he realized that he was still in the carriage, and now it was moving. It was filled with a group of youths around his age or a bit younger.

"How are you feeling? You gave us quite the shock; finding anyone knocked out alone in the middle of the Great Plains of Death and alive is unheard of." The voice belonged to a large youth with thick eybrows, a fitting straight nose, and golden hair.

For some reason, Harry already had an idea of who he was facing right now.

"Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. George Borunin, the eldest son of Count Borunin! Nice to meet you." George introduced himself with a warm smile, but Harry could see through the facade.

The boy was fishing for information, and he would get it. There was no time for Harry to collect himself right now.

Thinking quickly, using the information Harry gained by absorbing Leylin's soul, he came up with the answer, "It's good to meet you, George! Thank you for picking me up. I am Harry Potter, the heir of Viscount Potter from the Falmuth Duchy."

"The Falmuth Duchy? That's so far in the Southeast! Were you also on your way to join a Magus Academy? How come you were alone in the Great Plains?" George instantly followed up with more questions, already assuming what Harry had hoped for.

"Yes, our caravan entered the plains a few days ago. Although I am not sure exactly how long has passed, The deeper we got in, the more often we were attacked by wild beasts. It was during the attack of a large wolf pack that one caught me off guard from behind and dragged me into the wilderness. While I managed to fight them off, I lost my caravan and decided instead of staying, it was better if I wandered in a direction; hopefully I would meet someone. Until I passed out and woke here up." Harry lied; he felt it was not bad for a cover story.

"That sounds harsh. It was a very impressive feat that you were able to fight them off by yourself. It sounds like you have reached at least the level of a knight and are quite lucky." The golden-haired boy whistled, impressed.

Before Harry could reply, they got interrupted by a ruff voice. A black cloaked man had climbed inside from the front of the carriage. "So you woke up. Who are you?"

And Harry had to repeat his story again, adding a few more details in here and there to make it more believable than the short version he just gave to George, like that he had lost his sword somewhere.

"So you already paid for your passage." The black-cloaked man said as his eyes wandered over Harry's body.

He must be searching for his possessions, probably trying to determine whether he could even pay the entrance fee for a Magus Academy.

A few uncomfortably long moments later, the man said, "You may join us until the meeting point. But we won't take you back. Right now, we are at the edge of the true Great Plains of Death. You may still turn around and reach a city safely. Choose wisely."

Harry blinked but directly said, "I will go with you."

He wasn't scared of the Great Plains of Death; while it was true that he couldn't feel the effect of his gamer system right now, he still could feel his magic.

He was certain that his strength shouldn't be too low.

An exact comparison was too hard to make right now. But he would find a way to enter a magus academy.

"Then so be it." The man just said it shortly, seemingly unimpressed, and climbed back to the front of the carriage.

[ Beep! Assisstive systems are restored. ]

'Oh, good. At least I have something to play around with for the journey...

———

It turns out the AI chip had really exterminated his gaming system.

For some reason, it recognized it as harmful to him, but he couldn't get any explanation out of it for the exact reasons.

Any data regarding that matter had been extremely corrupted by the stream of new data the chip had to process at the same time.

It was so much data that it knocked Harry instantly out.

In fact, the word extermination wasn't a precise description. Cannibalized or devoured was a more apt one.

While it removed the Gamer System itself from Harry's whole body, it absorbed all the data contained in it. All the information he had gathered, like his skills, masteries, and any other information, was saved in it.

Right now, his whole body is in an extremely strange state.

He had lost the support of his system functions, but not the power he had gained with them.

The system had really strengthened his body with every stat point.

His stats, which were based on his body, were easy to understand, but his mental stats were a far more complicated matter.

To truly understand that, one needed to understand the concept behind the AI Chips Body Analysis System.

It used something called a baseline, which is normally an average adult human. The strength of an average human was easy to portray. But what about his intelligence or wisdom statistics, which were deeply related to his magic?

Then there was the fact that the AI chip lacked the data to truly portray his mental statistics. Even the future knowledge from 'Warlock of the Magus World' was not really helpful since it lacked the surrounding database to portray the statistics.

While he knew the numerical values that were used in the novel for mental statistics, he lacked the context of what any of them meant.

On a positive note, he is still able to use magic.

But I had to do it the old-fashioned way. He really had to feel his mana and life energy reserves. No longer had he the convienient access to a visual representation of his mana points.

All this resulted in a new strange visualization of his status.

[ Beep! Scan complete: Harry Potter, Strength: 7.3, Agility: 6.4, Vitality: 6.6, Spiritual Force: ? (?), Magic Power:Status: Small inflamations spread all over the host body.

His body already had the strength of a grand knight.

This universe used multiple power systems and cultivation paths.

One of them was a knight path, which basically focused on training the body. The first rank was a knight, which was the equivalent of a trained human.

After that came the rank of a Grand Knight, which was the peak of what a human could reach through training. Basically, it is the equivalent of top athletes focusing on a sport.

A knight training technique, or grand knight training technique, was basically a formalized set of training methods, including a mystical or magical aspect that would enhance the body.

Unfortunately, it wasn't additive. If your body was already stronger than a fully trained knight, then the method had no effect on you.

By absorbing Leylin's soul, he had gained access to the boys memories, and there was a knight training method in his memories. Even a version improved through the AI chip had no effect on Harry.

Altough a Grand Knight training method may have. But it probably wasn't worth the effort since the main focus of this universe was the Magus Path. Still he would consider all possiblities.

A magus was basically a magic user, with a specific path of cultivation that made one stronger. He had no idea how the highest levels of magus were compared to the rest of the multiverse, but at least he had a way to get stronger even without his system.

There were so many more questions he had. Some were easier to solve than others.

The hardest right now was the question of how he could get to Skagos.

While he lost his essence of the gamer, if it even was a real essence, he had kept his essence of the dimensional trader. But he couldn't activate most of his powers related to spatial travel.

He still had access to contracts and all that, but he couldn't open the door back to his store on Skagos.

The AI Chip came to the same conclusions on how to solve the problem as himself, but like him, he had no definitive answer to what the actual problem was.

They simply lacked the necessary data.

There was no choice but to get stronger and go to other places to see whether he could open it from there. Hopefully he had also been sent back in time, but it was unlikely.

Well, he had more than a decade before One Piece Canon started, so maybe he gets back by then. Somehow, this thought didn't really comfort him.

At least there were other questions he could answer far easier. Like what was up with his spiritual power.

Thanks to all the information on magic, spells, and so on he had gathered himself and collected in his previous system and his Canon knowledge, he somehow displayed the stat.

But he was missing the context of how much he actually had.

Still, this wasn't the real question here.

What really mattered was the question of why he seemed to have two spiritual force and magic power stats.

The answer was quite fascinating. In short, he is a wizard.

He is a different species of human being, be it a variation or a completely different race than the humans here; he differs as a human; additionally, he has also Elvish and Draconic parts thanks to his connection with Tiamat, which gives him a boost to his body.

While Magi in this world form a sea of consciousness in their minds to become magus, Harry basically had a second one.

Something that wizards refer to as the magical core A separate storage inside his body was responsible for his magic as a wizard.

Right now, it contained the majority of his spiritual force and magic power, which meant he was already stronger than a regular mage. Just how much?
