What Failure?

As the morning sun was rising, Kai slowly opened his eyes.

He could remember clearly what happened last night.

He couldn't quite believe that it happened. Maybe it was some sort of dream, he thought as he slowly started to wake up.

He turned to his side only to find nobody there.

"Maybe it really was a dream?" He asked himself.

He lifted the cover and threw it aside as he always did. Even in his past life, Kai was quite messy but fortunately for him, in this life he had people to clean up after him.

As he was about to get off the bed his eye caught something, a small yet recognizable stain of red.

Kai's eyes grew wide as he slowly processed the fact that he indeed did sleep with Leah.

"If that really happened then..." Kai sat down on the edge of his bed as he took in a deep breath to calm his nerves.

"Status"

He thought to himself, Kai didn't know if he had to speak it out loud or not but he prefered not to.

His worry was unwarranted but another surprise came.

Instead of seeing his stats right away, a voice began to speak, he quickly judged it to come from within his head.

[Welcome Host]

"What are you?" Kai asked a question that he was certain he knew the answer to.

[I am a System Sent by the Gods]

Raising his eyebrow slightly Kai asked, "You were sent here?"

[That is Correct]

[I Was Sent to Make Sure the Host is Safe]

"Safe? What do you mean?" Kai became confused as the system revealed that there were many gods and they wanted him to be kept safe.

[Given Hosts Failure to Awaken the System in Their Previous Life]

[The Divine Beings Placed Host in a World the Host Would Like With Fewer Distractions]

This information stunned Kai. The system just implied that he could have awakened a system in his previous life. But because he failed he was placed in a world he'd like but one with fewer distractions. Kai was certain these distractions were games and other media that he and others his age love to consume.

"What failure? Why did I fail to awaken it?"

[Simple, Host Did Not Sleep With Anyone]

"Ugh" Kai was speechless as it was technically true. While he did fool around with some women, it never reached that far.

Kai would usually break off the relationship before he slept with whoever he was dating. He tended to attract high-maintenance women who didn't mesh well with his personality.

While he could have slept with them and then dumped them. It seemed needlessly cruel and he wasn't some desperate needy mutt.

"And? What does that have anything to do with this..."

[They Even Pushed Women Towards the Host but the Host was Busy and I Quote "grinding elo"]

Kai's eye twitched. Turns out that he was blessed but he wasted the blessing on games. What would have his life turned out if he applied himself to something different?

He couldn't help but wonder.

"So was I blessed in this life?" This was another thing that was itching on his mind.

[Yes, Everything Was Planned for the Host to Awaken the System.]

"Is that why I can't see my status screen? Or at least couldn't?"

[Correct, the Divine Beings were Worried that the Host Would "Powerlevel"]

"Heh, didn't really work out too well..." He chuckled at the miscalculations that the gods seemed to be making.

"hehe" Kai scratched his cheek in embarrassment.

If what the system said was true, then if he had just given into the little devil on his shoulder growing up, by now he might have been a high levelled class holder.

"So can I see my status now? Or do I even have one?"

Seeing the Status screen show up in front of him, Kai's eyes sparkled with joy.

Kai skipped over the information about his class and the skills related as he already knew all about it.

From the looks of it, he gained the classic inspect as a unique skill and his "seed" would empower those who ingest it and gain a powerup.

To top it off he could gain new skills for sleeping with women and then power them up.

"Do the gods want me to have a harem?" Kai couldn't help but ask out loud as all signs seemed to point to it.

[After Host's Previous Life, the Divine Beings Want to Watch Something Fun]

"Fucking pervs" Kai cursed in his mind only to realize that the system can read his thoughts.

[Correct, I can Read the Hosts Thoughts]

"Why are my stats so large?"

As far as Kai knew most people who were Level 1 had an average of 10 points in each stat.

Seeing how Kai had such high stats, something seemed to be wrong.

[Stat Points can be Earned Naturally]

[For Example, Intelligence can be Gained from Reading, While Strength from Physical Excercise]

[Host put in a tremendous amount of effort that would have otherwise gone to levelling]

[Gaining stats in this manner is slow but safe while restricting your level]

"Ha...ha...HAHAHAHAHA" Kai burst out into laughter. This was excellent news to him. He was certain he could use his RPG knowledge to level quickly. So gaining 8 levels worth of stats at the start put him ahead of the competition.

You gain 30 stat points for each level. Enough to put 5 in each of the 6 stats. This of course meant that despite being level 1 Kai was already strong enough to go out and fight.

After he wiped the tear of joy that formed in the corner of his eye Kai had only one question to ask.

"So what now? Did the gods want me for something?" He couldn't get rid of the feeling that something was going on.

[The Divine Beings Want Host to Live His Life to the Fullest This Time.]

A large grin appeared on Kai's face.

"Perfect, now I can finally go out and have some fun for once." As he said that Kai got up from his bed and walked toward his wardrobe to get dressed for the journey he was about to undertake.

A/N: How do you guys feel about the stat numbers? I am thinking they may be too big if I want our hero to reach levels I'd like him to.

One change from the OG release is the lack of XP being shown, but if people want I can always add it back when I edit the chapters in the future.
