....Eight Days After First Invasion....
The Channel Two news team moved as quickly as they could to get out of the way of the imperial invaders' gaze.
The imperial soldiers, who were talking to one another, were situated about 26 yards away from them.
The crew at Channel Two was aware of when to take action in case any of their foes happened to spot them.
One person popped her head seven inches over their hiddened spot. She wanted to make sure there wasn't anyone nearby that could've hear them sneaking by.
At that moment, the sound of a can being knocked over by one of the group causes the imperials to quickly turn to face the direction the crew hid in.
The group, grateful for the big wooden boxes, waited there for a while, listening to the footsteps of an imperial approaching them.
"Who goes there!" An imperial soldier says in command with his sword in hand.
Suddenly just before the imperial came nine feet closer to the boxes to take a look behind it, the imperial soldier felt a hand resting on top of his own.
"Come lendros, the others have something to show you." An imperial told him who then smiles when receiving a response of affirmation.
Slumping back lightly against the boxes, Ms. Vanessa, the leader of her news crew, seemed content with herself. A man named Kevin, who is her second in command, whispers to a young person—a civilian, to be precise.
He was a freshly graduate from a high school. The graduation celebration, which he had once imagined to be an exciting adventure, was tragically interrupted by border invasions.
Because one of his friends had died during the attack, Nathan, a high school student, was able to escape with the help of the news crew and three other individuals.
*Psst*
The crew heard someone whispering to them and looked around to see who it was. After hearing one more whisper, the lead participant looked up and noticed six people staring down at them.
One of the main people they observed was a middle-aged man who was hiding on a building's second story. His spot's shadowed area provided him with the ideal hiding place from the adversaries' observant gaze.
"What the hell are you people doing down there?" Questioned the man.
"We are trying to survive, that's what." Vanessa said responding back in a low voice.
From where they are, the crew and those hiding inside the building could see multiple battlecry as if something had occured that they don't even know of. It was pretty clear to them that the battle was taking place near the forty five foot tall square sized gate.
Just the sight of the gate gave them the ick, as if what they saw in the previous days was already bad enough. The thought of more of those imperials and their allies gave the news crew and the three civilians a sudden feel of apprehension, for they did not want another incursion to happened.
They've already saw enough deaths, already seen the despair amongst the very eyes of those they've seen back at the camps. Sadly, as much as Vanessa and her crew wanted to save the captured people, they understood fully well that it wouldn't end in their favor, because the imperials has far more numbers then the civilians do, including the heavily woodened tanks that the imperials has with them. They just far outweighs the Texans in both guns and numbers.
At that moment, the imperials in the vicinity abruptly readied themselves and advanced to participate in the ongoing battle.
"What do you think that was?" Kevin, who was one of the civilians that the crew saved from a locked cage.
"I don't know, but I'm going to check it out?" Answered Vanessa as she popped her head over her hiding spot.
Vanessa could see hundreds of imperials moving toward the gate from her current location. When she thought she had seen a lot of strange things, she was shocked to see a car that looked a lot like a jeep—not one owned by the US or Texas. However, the one she saw was of a heavily armored military green-colored vehicle. Like the ones she saw in a military museum a couple months ago.
Within the vehicle was a couple of unidentified beings, all of who was beared in heavily green armor, alongside that, the beings also carried with them ammo packs strapped onto their armor.
"What the hell are those beings!" One of the civilians with them said as they watched a Spartan mowed down enemies with the chain gun.
"Isn't that what I think it is!" Uttered Kevin.
One of Vanessa's crew members, Daken, quietly responded to the child before turning to face Vanessa and discovering that she was gone.
"What!" muttered Daken, looking around to see where his lead woman was hurrying off.
"Daken, what is it?" Questioned his fellow coworker.
"It's Vanessa, she's gone!" Daken answered while still searching for her.
"If your looking for your friend, then I'd suggest over there. She's heading over to where the battle is happening." says the man from building.
"Thank you!" Daken said to the man as he then rushed off to hopefully catch up to his friend.
"Daken wait, hold on got damn it!" One of the news crew says running after daken.
Kevin and the other two remained in their hiding place, unsure of its safety given the number of imperials still hanging around town, while the three others went to where the fight was currently taking place.
"If you wish to live, then I suggest that you three get inside, now!" A Man said telling them while having to up his voice.
Vanessa P.O.V.
Finally after she has had to rush after the battle taking place, Vanessa let out a yelp when someone grabbed her by the edge of her long sleeve shirt. Fearing for her life, the journalist abruptly spun around and hit the assailant in the shaded area of his body.
To Vanessa's dismay, though, she witnesses a daken slumping to the ground and limping while clutching his waist in an attempt to ease the pain from his recent ordeal.
"Oops, I'm so sorry daken, I didnt mean to do that!" Apologized Vanessa as she got down to comfort him.
"Damn, you did quite the job on defending yourself Nessa." Jacob told Vanessa pleased of the action that happened to him.
"What the hell was that for!" Uttered daken, hoping that somehow this would help him get over his pain.
Vanessa took her camera, turned it on, and started recording what was happening in the moment, ignoring her friend's suffering.
Jacob who was standing next to them quickly got down behind Vanessa.
The three were watching a Spartan jump off the boar's passenger seat and land on top of a poor imperial soldier that tried running away as he was sadly killed off by one of the other Spartans.
From his left, the spartan notices a numbers of numerous imperial soldiers, all of which held shields and weapons that resembles swords, spears and that of musket like guns.
With a simple stomp of their boots, the imperial let out countless shots of their guns, but before the rounds touches him. The spartan brought his left forearm up, as he was doing that, he clenches his hands into a fist tightly as an energy shield materialized into an overbearing size. The shield itself was similar to that of the Spartan of ancient Greece.
With his new set of arsenals, the Spartan uses his shield to block off the bullet rounds, as well as that of the arrows and spears being shot at him.
Edges away from his shield, the Spartan peeked to see that the imperials were near to reloading their guns. But for their archers, they were at least quick to firing more of their arrows at him with great efficiency.
Taking this as an opening, the Spartan immediately burst forth at an enormous speed that when his armored boots left the ground, it cause the rocks dirt to fly backwards from how fast he was going.
The imperials, seeing the speeding behemoth of a monstrous man in armor coming at them in such a speed that they could not comprehend just stood their grounds. The shield wielders steps forth and slams their shield down onto the ground and braces themselves thinking that they would ceased the Spartan in his act.
Unfortunately for the imperials, they were surprisingly shock at what came next. The first three shield wielders who prepared themselves was suddenly sent flying as the Spartan swiped his right arm at them with tremendous strength that rivals even the ogres in their world.
Be that as it may, the gunners and those surrounding the spartan all aimed their weapons at the green behemoth and started raining rounds and bullets on him.
Understanding that he could not afford to hinder himself any longer, the Spartan then began taking out as many of those nearby him. Though, as he was doing so, a shot from an imperial cannon had sent the unsuspecting Spartan rolling so hard that he created a decent size hole through a metal garbage truck.
Thinking that their target was done for good, the imperials stood there waiting for their foe to come out of the garbage truck.
Unsure of the green behemoth's end, one of the imperials sent a single one of their own towards the vehicle to check if the Spartan was truly dead. Not wanting to receive any punishment for disobeying his commander, a imperial grunt soldier slowly sauntered forward with each steps showing his clear fear of the Spartan.
As he neared the garbage truck four feet close, the grunt leaned his head forth to see if his foe was actually defeated. The grunt took a step back in relief after what seemed like a few moments of terrifying terror, but this was a mistake because the imperial was then pulled inward by an armored hand that emerged from the shadows and grabbed him by the edge of his armored neck.
Not too long after, the spartan leaps out of the garbage truck's broken holes while still holding within his hands pieces of metals that obviously belongs to the imperial grunt's armor.
Just then, the imperial responsible for managing their cannons rushed to load up another round. Sadly for them, the Spartan had already locked in on them in an instant.
"Is he doing what I think he is doing!?" Uttered Jacob as he and his two friends watched the Spartan rammed through a shield wall of imperials.
Subsequently, the Spartan raised his right arm to deflect bullets as they struck his armor's energy shield. Suddenly, though, everything changed as the Spartan advanced, bit by bit, toward the gunners.
After the initial four gunners had fired all of their rounds, they stopped firing, retreated three steps, and then swapped places with another quartet of gunners.
Rather than moving in the direction of his enemies as they assumed, the Spartan fled quickly and hid behind a nearby Hyundai. There he waited while reloading his primary handgun, replacing it in its magnetic holster before taking out his backup gun and turning off the safety.
After having to do what he did in the meantime, the Spartan then did something that struck the news crew, as well as the imperial soldiers. He turned and faced the vehicle, with his left hand, he grabbed the bottom part of the car and lifted it to where it sets on the left side as it made a loud creaking sound.
The gunners who witnessed this were taken aback by what they saw. They were stunned by the scene as they stood there, but after a while they snapped out of it and started shooting at the car that the Spartan was pushing.
The unsuspected imperials were still proceeding with their act that they weren't aware of a flying metal object that the Spartan had thrown over to their direction. One of which, sees the metal object rolling underneath the feet of his allies and went to pick it up. However before he does, a sudden flash transpires to the point where every one of the imperials were blinded a brightened light of white.
Each of the imperials within a range of twelve feet wide dropped their weapons as they felt an ongoing ringing growing in their heads. The immense pain was far greater then they had ever felt before. The pain itself was closely similar to that of the suns lights pointing straight at their faces.
Meanwhile, as the throbbing pain was gradually slipping away from the imperials, they weren't aware of the Spartan that was speeding towards them at an enormous speed that not even those of the civilians that was watching the scene couldn't comprehend.
The Spartan went through each of the imperials all the while he took them out in an unsightly scene for he did not spare a single one of his foes life without a second thought.
Following after the Spartan had slain about a dozen of the imperials, the Spartan turned to his right where he noticed one of the civilians who quickly dropped back into their hiding places.
Knowing that he had done what needed to be done, the Spartan glances to the front where he spotted unsc reinforcement slowly depleting the imperials and their allies of their numbers.
Marines and army troopers alike each set defenses where they held their ground, meanwhile the unsc were gaining an advantage over their foes.
"Who the hell are this people?" Jacob says as he watched the unsc soldiers taking out each and every imperials that attempted to flee the scene.
"I don't know, but something tells me that this is going to gain a lot more views for our news company! Come on!" Vanessa said responding to her colleague as she ran to where the unsc was setting a small station tent.
"Vanessa, what are you nuts! We don't even know this people!" Spoke daken as he and Jacob were running after their friend.
__________
Robert Spartan, Sierra-025 had just gotten together with a few marines and the other members of the Green Team. He was updating them on his current problem, as the imperials were undoubtedly to blame for the majority of the harm being done to this part of the town. Thankfully, the unsc ultimately defeated them, along with capturing those who willingly surrendered.
Of course that didn't mean some of the imperials hadn't joined their comrade and so tried to fight back only to receive their impending death.
"How long until we finally clean this roman wannabes off of earth?" inquired Spartan tedra grant who was scouring the area of the scene at hand.
"That I don't know of. Although we may have taken care of those that were stationed near the gate, some of the imperials that fled the scene had already made way miles ahead of us." Spartan grace sierra-093 Green one says answering her team member.
"Then it's a good thing we've mowed down all of those who were here." Robert-025 says answering her in a nonchalant way.
"That still doesn't make things better, if there are still more imperials out there, then I'm am sure that news of unidentified beings will soon be on screen for every twenty first centuries to see." Asta sierra-017 told her.
"Then what do you guys supposed we do, surely the United States wouldn't want a bunch of futuristic people to stay on land?" Robert added in for he was not certain that the Americans wouldn't be fond of the unsc being on earth.
"Don't you worry about that, we've got words that once we are finished with cleansing this planet of imperials, we might be able to return back on that weird ass planet." Spartan tedra says responding to her fellow squadmate.
"No need to worry, huh. I doubt that to be true, knowing the old humans, they'll probably start questioning us before we even want to return." Asta remarks.
"Say, have any of you got words from Quinton? He was supposed to meet up with us in here?" Grace says asking them as she looked around for sierra-022.
"I've received a message from him a moment ago. He is currently being held up in a nearby high school by a bunch of twenty first centuries." Tedra responded to grace as she checked her coms.
"Does he need help or not?" Inquired Robert who remained ready to act on green one orders.
"There's no need for that. I don't think anyone within that school has any hostilities towards us. Besides, Quinton can take care of himself." Grace told Robert who nodded at her way.
Right as the two spartans were done speaking, a woman came running towards them carrying with her a fairly large Eos-R6 camera. Not far behind her were two others who eventually caught up with her.
"Hey, stop!" A unsc marine says in a shouts as he tried to catch a speeding vanessa who slipped her way through the marines.
Asta-017 stepped between her two squad mates as she then motions with her hand in halting the civilians woman in her treks.
"Cease your running woman!" Asta told Vanessa just in time as she stopped six feet away from her.
"Apologies y'all. My name's is Vanessa quden. I'm a news reporter for channel two." Vanessa says as she has had to gasp for air due to how fast she had to run. "If you ladies and gents do not mind my intrusion, can I interview y'all. Just a small talk is all I need."
Asta shrugs as she glances at green team and the Marines as she chatted with them through their coms without the civilians knowing.
Meanwhile Vanessa waited patiently as she then felt her two colleagues coming from behind her. "What are you two doing here!?"
Shooting her a peruse look, daken was about to question her response when suddenly the green armored being turns to face them.
"Who are these two?" Inquired asta as she stared at each one of them awaiting their answers.
Vanessa spoke once more cutting her two colleagues off. "This two here are my two coworkers, or friends. We, well I mean, the three of us are from channel two news. I'm sure there's no need for y'all to know why we are."
Understanding the statement of the woman, asta was aware of what her obligation was. These news channels were something lighter that informed the Spartan right away of the main reason Vanessa and her friends were present.
Neither the unsc civilians nor the people outside the inner colonies saw her or her fellow Spartan brothers and sisters as anything other than monsters most of the time. And among the numerous ways in which they were observed by them were by means of news outlets and individuals who documented any sightings of Spartans.
And here she stands beside them once more. She secretly wishes they would go away since she never wanted to be anywhere near these news people. Unfortunately, she along with green team don't actually have any authority to order them around in their own world and country.
"You and your two friends can interview us later, right now. We need to link up with a team member of ours. Now if you'll excuse us, we need to get moving." Uttered asta as she turned and walked away with green team and the Marines.
"Oh, I don't mind. We'll just follow you all." Answered Vanessa who then trekked after them.
Spartan Sierra-022
P.O.V.
As he walked past the entrance, Quinton watched as multiple people, civilians and emergency workers alike. All of which gave the Spartan looks of scrutiny, shocks and apprehension.
Despite receiving different looks from the twenty-first century, Quinton maintained his composure and continued on without stopping as he and the marines followed after the officers.
While the spartan followed after sergeant paolo and his three officers, a small form of a child was walking by where he intentionally pumps into the leg armor of quinton.
"Excuse me sir, can I ask you a something?" The boy spoke as he looked upward at the giant.
Those of sergeant paolo and his colleagues also heard the kid, one of them stepped forth to stop the kid from bothering quinton, however, quinton raised his left arm up to stop her.
Afterwards, Quinton got down on one knee to try to get to eye level with the child, who was much smaller than he was. "What is it you wish to ask of child?"
The child and those nearby were startled by the voice of the spartan, it sort of reminded them of a robotic like human who's voice was closely similar to that of a certain super soldier.
The boy clutching within his hands was a toy figure of a Spartan, with it he held it out for Quinton to see. "Are you the master chief, your cool armor is very close to that of his?"
Quinton peered down at the toy, the moment he laid eyes on it, he immediately figured out who the toy resembles. "No child, I am not master chief."
"Then who are you sir?" Asked the boy as he stared up at the giant in an admiration.
"I am Spartan sierra-022, the master chief, spartan-117 is my brother. We are two different Spartans of the same generation." Quinton says clarifying the difference between him and John.
"Woah, so does that mean you and the master chief know each other!?" Uttered the boy in a exultant mood.
"Correct child, the master chief and I indeed know each other. Though we-"
Before the Spartan could finish his sentence, an older looking man of Latin descent came rushing past a couple people as he then grabbed his son and spoke in behalf of the boy.
"I'm so sorry sir! My son is just a huge fan of the master chief. Please forgive him!" The man says apologizing in a hurry.
"There's no need to be sorry, the boy was just asking me questions." Replied Quinton who veered his head to the side.
"Spartan, please, follow us. The captain is waiting for you." Officer Paolo spoke after having to stand patiently for the kid to finish with his questions.
Glancing back on the boy, he spoke to him and then went to continue after the officers. Though, the only issue of the matter is him having to duck every few moments so that his head doesn't bang against the wooden hallways.
As soon as Quinton and the officers reached their destination, the two large doors of the main office opened outward. With it, one person dressed in an FBI outfit walked out.
The moment she exited the room, her eyes widened slightly in pure shock of who the being standing behind officer paolo was.
"Paolo, what is this?!" Questioned the woman apprehensively.
"Bella, have not you heard from the captain? He has requested that we bring the Spartan in for questioning." Paolo says answering her.
"Oh I know. I was just not expecting a seven foot six giant roaming inside the school!" Responded Bella as she stepped aside to let the group in.
Thanking the woman, paolo and his group stood in their place after the sound of the doors closes.
Meanwhile, once they were all in, the Spartan had literally captured the attention of everyone inside the room. Nearly most of the people thought that they were seeing a robot, some who were familiar with the halo franchise even chose to just stay quiet as they all kept their eyes on the giant.
Unfortunately, the once peaceful silence was broken when a man with crutches walked over to officer paolo and the group.
"Hello there Mr. Vargas, it is good to see you and your fellow officers still standing." The captain spoke as he went and shook the hands of each of paolo's men and woman.
"It's good to see you too as well sir." Responded Paolo who shook hands with the old man.
However, be that as it may, as soon as the captain came near the spartan, he tilted his head up at the armored giant who's size dwarfs over every single people in the room, as well as that of the people in the entire school building.
"And you sir, may I ask of who you might be?" Inquired the captain awaiting the Spartan's response with pure patience.
"I am Spartan of the U.N.S.C. military navy, Sierra-022. And you are?" Quinton says hitting the captain with his own inquiry.
Smiling at himself, the captain had to admit, not everyone within his department would just outright speak to him with such tone of their voice. Yet here he was, standing in front of someone who wasn't afraid to do that exact same attitude to him.
"My name is captain Allan karvan of the Texas el paso police department. Let me start by saying that we do not usually get strange visitors, especially ones from the distant future." Captain Allan says in a resonant tone.
"It is a pleasure to meet you sir. To what reason did you ask of me to be here for!" Asked straightforward quinton.
"Straight to the point, I can respect that." Replied a smiling allan as he then spoke once more. "The reason why I've asked for you and your fellow marines to be here, is well, it's because of this damn roman invaders. My honest question also, why have you and your group come here. Please be real with me, I've dealt with enough dishonesty."
"Very well sir." Says Quinton, noting that everyone in his vicinity was quiet as they listened in on the conversation. "The main reason I and the unsc are here is because of the imperials; we have already defeated half of their army on the other side of the gate. We knew we could not afford to let them wreak havoc on Earth, so the doctor and vice admiral dispatched a contingent of UNSC forces to clean up both sides of the gate."
The captain took in all of the information said by the Spartan himself; however, this does not mean he was easily duped, as he was aware that the Spartan was not telling him everything. But, for all he knew, Allan was confident that these unsc people would eventually tell him about the other matters that they were hiding.
"I see spartan, but please, if you do not mind me asking. I wish to speak with your leader, who might she or he be?" Inquired captain allan as he was quite interested in meeting these people's commander.
"Our president isn't present at the moment. The only other person in charge of the unsc at the moment is vice admiral miranda keyes." Quinton responded, noticing that the man's facial expression had changed to that of someone pleased with their message.
"Excellent, perhaps we can speak with your vice admiral, if she's available that is?" Questioned the captain eagerly awaiting the Spartans response.
"I can make it happen. But, I don't know how long it'll take, for the vice admiral is currently busy at the moment." Says quinton as he saw a pleasing look on the man's face.
"What of these doctor you spoke of? Is she available?" Inquired allan.
"She too has her hands full at the moment. I will inform them both later... Any other questions?" The spartan said asking him directly.
Seeing that he was starting to sound like an annoying fly to the giant, captain allan simply took one step back as he looked around at everyone else. "No, that is all, for now. Please come."
__________
Since they've departed from the room, the spartan, along with the others had soon arrived outside of the school's vicinity.
All around them, quinton could see numerous civilians, all of which were standing aside in the sidewalks, some of whom was also peeking through their windows. Some that came and stood in their front yards taking pictures of the marines that were currently wrapping up the imperial and their allies.
However, as grateful as they were, Quinton could tell that not everything was as it appeared.
The imperial and their allies weren't the only ones who had suffered the mosț. Everywhere he looks, at every places, civilians were mourning their losses. Bodies of man woman and children can be seen laying by their loved ones. Though, that didn't mean all of which are dead, as various amount of the people seem to have gained injuries fatal injuries from the previous event.
As the spartan strolled along with the others, he veered his head upward, catching the sound of a helicopters rollar blades as multiple of them, numbering around a good sixteen. All of them flew over to a larger and more opened area, the schools football field that can easily fit more then twenty helis.
"Looks like we got company!" Spoke a marine.
"Looks like things will be quite difficult, now that the so called reinforcements finally decided to show up." Says captain allan as he locked eyes at a certain groups of people coming over to where he is.

_________
Nalia, the CEO of the violet company strolled on by with her colleagues. Behind her were her two personal bodyguards, both of whom were armed with assault rifles.
She's has had to explained to them of the situation, but the two rejected her words, greatly, they did put their rifles on safety mode.
"Damn, I wonder how long these people have been dealing with these invaders." Baron spoke as he surveyed his surroundings.
"They did have to deal with the invaders." Responded Mel who was watching the unsc marines taking the imprisoned attackers to the back of a vehicle whereas they then drove over to the gate.
"Uh oh, looks like we got someone coming!" Baron uttered as they yelled towards couple of individuals.
"Hello there nalia, I'd say it's good to see you. But knowing who you are, I wanna ask. Why are you here?" Questioned Captain allan arms folded while eyeing the woman.
"The old man sent me. Besides, I wanted to offer a helping hand." Nalia responded, wanting her old friend to know how much she cared.
Assuming she was attempting to be formal with him, Allan reasoned that he should not blame her for what occurred between them. So, for the time being, he decided to let her in. "Fine, please, let me introduce you to spartan-022 and his allies.
Nalia veered her head at the individual that towers over everyone. Previously, the moment she laid eyes on him from exiting the heli, nalia had thought the giant was just some giant robot.
"It's nice to meet you ma'am, I'm assuming your a friend of captain allan?" Inquired quinton as he shook hands with the woman.
"Correct." Replied a genuine nalia as she struggled to look up at the tall armored man. "To whom might your leader be, I wish to speak to the one leading these brand new forces that had taken care of the invaders."
"Well technically, the spartan and his unsc friends are considered invaders... No offense man." A Tensed Mel says slightly scared when the spartan glances his way.
"None taken." As Quinton was about to continue speaking, the Spartan coms came online, and the name of a specific doctor stood out to him.
"Hello spartan quinton, how are things going in your side of the gate?" Spoke Doctor halsey.
"Hello to you as well doctor, what is it you wish to ask of me?" Inquires quinton.
"I'm just letting you know that I'll be arriving in there on earth. I've already notified green team of the same message." Answered halsey.
"Copy that ma'am. If you do get here ma'am, they'll be some people that wants to see you." Quinton informed Halsey as he heard her agreeing to his message.
"Hmmm, alright. Tell your new friends that I'll be arriving within an hour. Halsey out."
"Who's that?" Allan says asking the spartan.
"The doctor, she says she'll be here within an hour." Answered quinton.
