Discharged

Hailey woke up the next morning and met Jeremy staring at the window. It was very obvious that a lot of thoughts were running through his mind. She cleared her throat and it attracted his attention.

“Oh you’re awake. Good morning, hope you had a good night rest?” He asked.

“Good morning Jeremy. Yes I had a good night rest.” She replied.

“That’s good!” He answered.

“Uhm, where’s Stacey?”

“Stacey went home early this morning. She will soon be back.”

“Oh okay. How about you? Won’t you go to work? Don’t tell me you have no patients to attend to.” She said.

“Hailey, I can’t go to work when you’re in this kind of state!” He answered.

“Jeremy, I’m fine! Besides, Stacey will be here with me and you can come check on me from time to time. Please Jeremy, your patients need you. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.” She assured.

Just then, Stacey came in.

“She’s right Jeremy. I’ll be here. Don’t you worry!” She chipped in.

“You see! Even Stacey is in support of you going to work.” Jeremy gave a slight frown and let out a sigh.

“Okay fine but I’ll round up quickly so I can be with you!” He answered. He left to the two sisters and went to attend to his patients.

“Your Jeremy worries too much!” Stace said.

“Yeah he does.” She replied with a laugh. They heard a knock on the door.

“Who is it?” Stacey asked.

“It’s me Dr Stanford. May I come in Miss Hailey?” He asked.

“Sure! Come in doctor.” She replied. Stanford came in.

“How are you doing Miss?” He asked.

“I’m totally fine doctor!”

“Feeling better?”

“Yes doctor. Perfectly okay. Thank you!” She answered with a smile.

“That’s good to hear. Well, for the meantime all you need is adequate rest.” He explained.

“Okay doctor, I’ll get all the rest I need.”

“That’s alright. Thank you for your time Miss Hailey!”

“You’re welcome doctor.”

“I’ll be leaving now!” He said and left.

Later that day mom and dad came to see her and Jeremy didn’t let her out of his sight.

“How are you my dear?” Dad asked her.

“I’m fine dad.” She replied.

“Sorry about what happened. Your mom told me about it when she got home yesterday.” He said.

“Thanks dad. I’m feeling better now.” She smiled at him. Mom and dad made her stay that day interesting.

An hour later, Jeremy came to see her. He greeted his parents in-law.

“How are you Jeremy?” Mr Roberts asked his son in-law.

“I’m fine sir.” He replied. The family stayed with Hailey at the hospital. Dad got Hailey a packet of her favorite chocolates. She thanked her Dad so much for it.

Later that afternoon, mom and dad left the hospital after spending some valuable time with their daughter.

“I never knew you were a fan of chocolates!” Jeremy said to her.

“I’m not just a fan but a lover of chocolates!” She stated.

“I guess I now know one thing my wife loves. New lesson learned.” He said and she couldn’t help but laugh. They spent another night at the hospital.

The next day, Dr Stanford informed her that she would be discharged later that afternoon.

“Thank you doctor.” She appreciated.

“You’re welcome.” Jeremy didn’t have many patients that day so he closed early. He left the hospital with his her and they headed home.
