7- new light god

After the battle with Hyperion and his army I realize that my siblings are quite weak. Although I would like to help them get stronger, there really isn't much I can do. Unlike me they don't have unlimited potential even if they're gods.

We were back on the island of Crete back in the hut that now looks like a proper hall. Our thrones are still shitty though.

"You bastard! You simply watched as we were swarmed by those Gigantes!" Zeus after sitting down instantly erupts in anger having held it in till we were at home. His anger, although justified, I wouldn't let this coward yell at me.

"Mind your tone.." I say monotone, causing everyone in the room to shiver, including Zeus who instantly shrinks back into his seat.

"From how I see it, it's your own fault you couldn't handle those Gigantes, and if you want to blame anyone, blame yourself for your own weakness." I spare a glace toward each and everyone of my siblings, ensuring they understand I'm not talking only about Zeus.

"We're not like you brother, for some reason you continue to grow stronger with no limits in sight, while we are approaching our limits already." Poseidon speaks sadly. Unlike me they don't have unlimited potential, though the thought that they are already reaching their limits is Ludacris. They're Gods.

"Your physical limits." I state simply.

"Although Poseidon is right and I haven't reached my limits the majority of my strength isn't physical, like you wish to suggest, it's magical. If you had used more brains than brawn against the hoard of Gigantes they would have amounted to nothing more than what they were born to be, fodder. However due to your negligence in training your magical abilities, with the exception of Hera and Demeter, they were serious threats." Hera and Demeter gain a proud smirk at my acknowledgement even if Demeter would never admit it. While Poseidon, Zeus and Hestia each gain different degrees of a frown.

"Here let me explain the basics of divinity...." I spent well over half a night explaining to them that although they might reach their physical peak, imagination and willpower are limitless.Them being gods, Greek ones at that, has given them an ego large enough to hinder their growth, and believing that you are the best you'll ever be is a dumb thought for whoever believes it. In the end there is nothing I can do to help them since, honestly the only thing holding them back is themselves.

After my lecture I leave the hut and head back to the Underworld since I need to figure out who gets to become a new Light God, and preferably quickly as the light is already starting to dim, even if slowly. The light flickers like a kid toying with a light switch as if the universe was mocking me, seconds later it returns to normal and I release a sigh. Opening a portal beneath my feet I fall in and appear back in my throne room. Ascending the obsidian steps I sit on my throne, my mind able to view everything from here as my control and power over the Underworld as that their max.

Now, lets find a suitable candidate.

I quickly look at all the souls currently residing in the the Underworld, creating a hologram similar to to a character selection screen. If there aren't any good candidates then I guess I'll have to put the pure god soul in the river Lethe, the river of forgetfulness, and hope they turn out all right. But I'd rather not risk it.

I continue through the candidates until a particular soul catches my eye. This one's a Clinger so willpower, check, it's soul is pretty white too, meaning that it must've gained some good karma while alive. This seems like a good enough vessel for the souls power.

I reach out and summon the soul into my hand but due the them being a Clinger it's entire body comes with it. They appear with my hand on their chest, my height causing them to be raised a few feet from the ground, though why does it feel round? I look toward my hand and see it clutching a globe. Ah... it must be a she.

"Kyaaa!" She swats my hand away, causing her to fall to the ground, and tries to punch me in the face. It would be rude to dodge it. Her fist connects to my cheek, however, unexpectedly instead of me recoiling in pain her hand actually breaks, bits of soulium flaking off her knuckles.

"Ow! Why did that hurt me you bastard!" She reels back from the pain throbbing in her hand.

""Calm down."" Using my powers over soul and the Underworld, her emotions get suppressed to avoid any further misunderstandings.

"Who are you? and why don't I feel mad anymore?" Well I guess I would ask the same question if I was suddenly teleported to a 9ft tall man holding my breast, and then suddenly becoming the definition of feeling fine. She also can't see my face since I'm using shadows to hide my features, since I have the sneaking suspicion that seeing my face isn't such a good idea when it come to normal mortals.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you, I'm actually going to help you. I am something called a God, a being above one such as yourself and I have recently done something impulsive." Although she has no idea what impulsive means she can feel that it's something bad. Reflecting back to when I killed Hyperion, I will admit it was a mistake. I should have just thrown him in Tartarus and forgotten about him. However I cant change the past so now I have to deal with giving a human the powers of a God, limited powers of course, but God powers nonetheless.

I grab the Soul vial holding Hyperion's soul and bring it up to Her, she instantly focuses on the golden orb with the embers in her eyes growing ever fierce, as if in a trance. It seems mortals are attracted to souls stronger than theirs, interesting.

"This, young lady, is a God soul. And as you have probably figured out, it isn't supposed be in a bottle." At my voice she awakens from her trance and gains a look of wonder.

"You mean your soul looks like that too? It's so pretty!" She says with innocence most likely caused by hysteria at being near me and the soul for so long. I guess I have to speed this up.

"I am going to give you a portion of this soul, and all I need you to do is not die."

"Will the soul leave if I die?"

"No, it'll just be annoying to reincarnate you again."

"Again?"

"Again." With a pop I take the lid off the bottle and over half the soul flies into her. Her clinger body beginning to flake away, revealing pearly white skin, sunny blond hair, sparkling golden eyes, and she would've looked quite beautiful if it had the chance to finish. At the same time I use my power over soul and death with a large amount of power to implant the soul of this girl into a pregnant chiefess of a strong tribe.

"What is happening to me?" She looks at her body being reconstructed amazed at her new appearance. Looking away from her perfect arms she looks to my face unexpectedly catching a glimpse of my burning eyes from the shadow cloaking them.

"Hades.." She suddenly whispers to herself as the name is imprinted into her mind.

"Interesting... Didn't know that would happen." I'll admit, curiosity got the best of me. I wondered what would happen if she saw my eyes. I knew something would, just not what, It seems she learned my name, though I have no idea what else it did to her other than implant knowledge I'm sure it did something. I'll find out eventually no need to pry. Continuing the process, I use some more magic to ensure she doesn't forget our meeting and reincarnation, then summon a portal next to me. I reach out toward her chest enveloping my hand in blue flames in order to separate her physical and corporeal form. Contrary from the expected fear at a hand the size of her head approaching her chest, she looks almost expectant for something to happen. Sadly for her I'm upon her before she notices and gently grasp her soul, completely bypassing her physical form. Her mixed soul a brilliant silver with a golden hue. Her soulless, half clinger half demi-god body, falling like a puppet with cut strings.

"A perfect match." This was why I had to search for candidates, certain souls have different compatibility to different things, such as merging with a light Gods soul. Hers was perfect, she could mix with Hyperion's should without any negative effects and her new body, thanks to her compatibility will be able to use her new demi-god powers pretty efficiently.

"I'll see you soon."

The next step to reincarnating her is quite simple. I chuck her soul into the portal, it closing moments later and slump down on my throne. It's quite taxing reincarnating a demi-god, I hope she doesn't get killed. I'd be a bother having to reincarnate her again especially since she would ask a bunch of questions.

"Ahhh, I need a nap."
