Chapter 6: Buying a Wand

Throughout the entire day, Bell stayed close to Shanna.

They ate together, played games together, slept together. Basically, except for going to the bathroom, the two were always together.

What? You're talking about buying a wand? What wand? Shanna is more important! Let wands go to hell!

Seeing her children getting along so well, Elena finally let go of the anxiety she had been holding onto.

She had been worried that the long period of isolation would have a negative impact on Bell's mentality and character. Now, watching her son happily playing with her daughter, she finally relaxed.

Elena cried tears of joy, and Bell and Shanna comforted her for a long time. It wasn't until Shanna almost cried too that Elena finally calmed down.

The next day arrived quickly.

"Bell, since you mentioned buying a wand before, shall we go to Diagon Alley today?" Elena suggested during breakfast.

"What!? How could you buy a wand for Bell!? He's still too young!" William exclaimed.

He suspected that his wife hadn't woken up yet, otherwise, why would she start talking nonsense so early in the morning? He himself didn't get his wand until he was of school age. In fact, almost all young wizards didn't get their first wand until they were 11 years old.

"Humph! What do you know!"

Elena glanced disdainfully at William. She felt that William didn't care about Bell at all. Otherwise, how could he say such foolish things?

"Bell's magical power is very strong. After these years of training, his control over magic is extremely skilled, much stronger than yours. Why shouldn't Bell have a wand?" Facing his wife's stern gaze, William shrank his neck.

There's nothing he could do! He also wanted to maintain the dignity of the head of the family, but what could he do if he couldn't win against her? He was also very desperate!

And you praise Bell if you want, why do you have to belittle him while you're at it? He's also very capable. Back then, the mysterious person even invited him several times because he admired his power!

Fortunately, Elena didn't know what William was muttering in his heart, otherwise, she would definitely kick him to the ground.

Did Voldemort admire your strength? He just coveted your body, he's despicable!

"Ugh~!?"

Bell looked disgusted.

"I don't want to be separated from Shanna, do I, Shanna?"

Seeing her brother's playful expression, little Shanna laughed 'hehe'.

"Separate~ Separate~"

"You see, Shanna doesn't want to be separated from me either."

Bell looked at his mother with an uncomfortable yet defiant expression.

"Just for a little while, okay? We'll come back after buying the wand. We have to be present in person to buy the wand." Elena persuaded helplessly.

"No!"

Bell hugged little Shanna tightly.

"Separate~ Separate~"

"..."

Since Bell stubbornly refused to be separated from his sister, little Shanna also stuck to Bell. So in the end, Elena had to take both of them to Diagon Alley.

The three of them rode in a flying carriage pulled by two Thestrals. Bell was surprised to find that he could actually see Thestrals.

Could it be because he witnessed his own death in his past life?

The Thestrals flew fast, and it didn't take long for the three of them to arrive at Diagon Alley (without passing through the Leaky Cauldron).

Looking at the street in front of him, Bell didn't feel any excitement at all. Instead, he wanted to turn around and leave.

The narrow alley, with shops of various heights on both sides, made Bell's OCD act up. He could responsibly say that compared to Diagon Alley, the big malls of the 21st century were definitely more interesting. Although Bell didn't like going to malls either.

Overall, Diagon Alley wasn't long, and there weren't many shops. After all, given the total number of wizards in England, there weren't enough people to support too many shops.

Perhaps because it was still early, there weren't many people shopping in Diagon Alley, which made Bell feel a little more comfortable.

At Bell's request, the three of them first came to Ollivanders Wand Shop.

Standing in front of the shop, to be honest, if it weren't for the fact that this was the only wand shop in the whole of Britain, Bell would definitely not go in.

The narrow wand shop looked dilapidated from the outside, and you could see dust accumulating on the shelves inside. So why couldn't wizards just clean up the shop and make it look nice? At the very least, they could change the sign to something newer, right?

However, reality was reality, and there really was only this one wand shop in all of Britain. So even though Bell was reluctant, he had to bite the bullet and go in.

Upon entering the shop, the bell on the door made a crisp ringing sound.

"Welcome! Oh, Mrs. Minashel, is there something wrong with your wand?" The shopkeeper Ollivander came out and asked.

"My wand is fine, Mr. Ollivander. Today, I'm here to buy a wand for my son, Bell."

Ollivander carefully stared at Bell for a while, then said, "Mrs. Minashel, forgive me for being frank, but your son shouldn't be 11 years old yet. Isn't it too early to buy him a wand now?"

"No, Mr. Ollivander, Bell is a genius. I believe he is already capable of owning his own wand." Elena said proudly, puffing out her chest.

"Very well, if you insist." Ollivander took out a tape measure and walked up to Bell.

"Which hand are you used to? Child."

"My right hand."

After some mysterious measurements, Ollivander quickly pulled out a wand.

"Try this one, child. Ten inches, vine wood, unicorn tail hair core."

As soon as Bell's hand touched the wand, Ollivander took it back.

"No, not this one. Try this one, eleven and a quarter inch, willow wood, phoenix feather core."

Bell took the wand and wanted to find a safer direction to wave it. However, a few seconds later, he gave up. Boxes were piled up everywhere in front of him.

Casually waving the wand, Bell felt his magic flowing into it, but the flow was somewhat obscure and not smooth. Several boxes containing wands floated up and seemed to want to fly around. Bell quickly controlled his magic to put them back in place.

"It seems that you are not suitable for a wand with a gentle personality, child. Well, let me see, try this one, thirteen inches, holly wood, dragon heartstring core."

After receiving the wand, Bell infused it with his magic. This time, Bell was very satisfied with the wand. He could feel his magic flowing smoothly in the wand, and finally, a rainbow burst out from the tip of the wand. Seeing the rainbow, little Shanna jumped up and down with joy.

"I didn't expect it to be this one. Mrs. Minashel, although this wand is powerful, it is also temperamental and difficult to control. Honestly, I don't recommend you buying this wand for young Bell. So, are you really not reconsidering?" Ollivander asked with a frown.

"Of course, I believe Bell will be able to use this wand well."

"Well, 10 Galleons. Do you want to buy a set of wand care products? Just add 1 Galleon."

After Elena paid Ollivander 11 Galleons, the three of them left the wand shop.
