5 Chapter 5: My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute

Anxious footsteps echoed from outside the door.

'Bang~~ Crash~~'

Strange noises filled the air, prompting Bell to quickly hide behind the bed, fearing that the bedroom door might burst open at any moment.

With a final 'boom,' the sturdy wooden door, which had stood guard for five years, finally collapsed. Bell's mother, Elena Minashel, rushed in anxiously.

"Mom, what's going on?" Bell asked, looking bewildered.

They had been in and out so many times before, and nothing like this had ever happened before, right?

"It's nothing, sweetheart, I just accidentally cast the wrong spell," Elena said excitedly, looking at Bell.

"Lym said you can control your magic now, is it true?"

Clearly, she didn't have time to worry about the little things now.

"Yes."

Bell pointed to a piece of parchment on the ground. The parchment flew up on its own, folding into a paper crane and flapping its wings around Bell.

"That's amazing, honey!"

Elena rushed over and hugged Bell tightly, trembling with excitement. Her son had finally mastered his magic, and she had thought he would have to live in his room for the rest of his life. Didn't many adult wizards have trouble controlling their magic?

"Mom, I want to go outside," Bell said, struggling to breathe.

"Oh, of course, of course, darling. You can go wherever you want from now on!"

Following Elena, Bell crossed the corridor and descended the stairs, taking about ten minutes to finally reach the outdoors.

In front of Bell was a spacious garden, where the grassy area was covered with white snow, with scattered yellowish grass peeking through.

Several cobblestone paths led outside, and in the distance, there were a few pavilions. In the center of the garden was a large fountain, which, perhaps due to the winter, was not spraying water.

Several trees were planted around the edge of the garden. Bell didn't know what kind of trees they were, tall and sturdy, with swings and slides scattered underneath.

Turning back, there was a castle in front of him.

Bell had never seen a real castle before, so he wasn't sure if the one in front of him was considered large or small. But Bell could guarantee that it was the most exquisite building he had ever seen.

The castle had four floors, with a gray-white exterior adorned with various relics. The glass windows reflected colorful light in the sunlight. Many stone statues were distributed at the top of the castle, including roaring dragons, soaring eagles, and squatting stone goblins.

"Um... Mom, don't we have a bit too many statues?" Bell looked at the scattered stone statues in the garden, puzzled.

He had seen many stone statues in the corridors of the castle when he came out earlier.

"A wicked wizard was causing trouble before, so we increased the castle's defensive power just in case. But don't worry, darling, that wizard has been defeated. Considering the cost of making these statues, we just left them there without removing them. If you don't like them, Mom will let the house elves move them away."

"No need, it's just curiosity," Bell quickly stopped her, afraid that Elena would call the house elves in the next second.

Since seeing his mother, he had been in an extremely excited state and hadn't calmed down until now.

"Darling, to celebrate your first outing today, is there anything you want? Just tell Mom, and Mom will take you to buy it."

Bell thought for a moment and realized he didn't really want anything.

His parents had been trying their best to meet all of Bell's requests over the years, so he had already gotten everything he wanted.

"Nothing... Oh, Mom, I want a wand." Bell suddenly said.

"A wand? It's too early for you, darling. Wait until you're older, and Mom will buy you one, okay?" Elena said somewhat reluctantly, apparently not expecting Bell to ask for a wand.

"No, it's not too early, Mom. I think after these years of training, I'm qualified to have my own wand now. Don't worry, Mom, I'll be careful with it."

Joking aside, how could Bell learn magic without a wand? He didn't want to waste precious time and start learning magic after entering Hogwarts at the age of 11. What if something happened? He didn't have Dumbledore's meticulous care; dying would be in vain.

Thinking back to the paper crane he casually folded with magic in the bedroom just now, Elena felt she couldn't do it without a wand. So, in the end, she agreed to take Bell to Diagon Alley to buy a wand.

After wandering around the garden and breathing some fresh air, the two returned to the castle.

"Oh, right!" Elena suddenly said, "You haven't met your sister yet, have you? It's about time she woke up. Go and meet her."

Bell knew he had a sister named Shanna Minashel, born more than two years after him.

But because Bell couldn't control his magic, it was too dangerous for his sister Shanna, who was still a baby. So, Bell had never met his sister.

And over the years, because his parents and the house elves rarely mentioned his sister in front of him (probably afraid that Bell would feel psychologically imbalanced about the fact that his sister could live freely outside), Bell almost forgot that he had a sister.

Following Elena to the third floor of the castle, not far from Bell's bedroom, was Shanna's bedroom.

Opening the door, it was a much smaller room than Bell's bedroom, probably only half the size, but like Bell's room from a few years ago, it was also filled with various toys and dolls.

Shanna was already awake and, under the care of the house elves, had finished dressing and washing up, ready to go out.

"Shanna, come and see who this is." Elena pushed Bell forward, smiling at her youngest daughter, "It's your brother, Bell."

Little Shanna put her fingers in her mouth, tilted her head to look at her mom... then looked at her brother... and finally smiled happily.

Although she was over two years old and could already walk, she still seemed a little unsteady, making people worry that she might fall at any moment.

Bell stood still and watched his sister approach him with a smile. The little girl opened her arms, constantly saying 'brother, brother' with drool at the corners of her mouth.

At this moment, Bell couldn't find any words to describe his feelings. It was as if a huge wave had hit him, shattering the barriers between him and this world, and his family; it was as if a warm breeze had blown by, melting his once lonely heart.

Looking at the little angel in front of him, Bell finally understood why he had crossed over, why he had been given a second chance at life. It must be to protect the little angel in front of him! To protect his sister Shanna!

Seeing Shanna staggering, as if she might fall at any moment, Bell quickly stepped forward and hugged her.

Shanna giggled in his arms, completely unaware that it was their first meeting. Perhaps it was the blood connection or the resonance of magic that made Shanna feel incredibly close to her brother.

She took out a few candies from her pocket, holding them with both hands and offering them to her brother.

"Brother, candy, candy."

'...'

'Ah—! My little sister can't be this cute—!' Bell roared in his heart.
