Chapter 5 Connections

POV Tony Stark

"Sure kid now why don't you tell us about these plans." Tony said seriously. He did indeed have a few questionable contacts one of which in Gotham could easily make a new ID and with enough money make it official enough to handle any level of scrutiny. "The Pseudo GN Drive has more energy than you can handle and it a thousand times safer than any energy source to date. My motorcycle is run by a prototype and I have driven it close to 3000 miles with no sign of harmful emissions or a need to recharge." Mike explained leaving out that his motorcycle was powered by a true GN Drive even id it was miniature, it would never need a recharge but with a pseudo drive then 3000 miles would be about the limit between charges. "The charges can be done by any wall outlet and take about 1 hour." Reed and Tony were stunned this could end wars over energy, if affordable it could even lower pollution in the atmosphere and regulate global warming. " The rescue drones while they look good on paper have a few issues." Mike admitted before continuing " The issue lies with judgment you would have to have experienced rescue workers directing them to make judgment calls that would be beyond the program of the drones." Tony nodded slowly he could see that and it was also fixable. " So are you selling full rights to these?" Tony asked. "No production rights only." Came the simple reply " I need starting capital for my own company, a company that I hope can work closely with the both of you to save lives and make the world a better place. Tony and Reed sat back and thought about this. "I agree" Tony said simply. "As it so happens one of my contacts is in town to meet with some of his associates and we can arrange that new ID for you. Can you meet with him tomorrow ill pay as a sign of our partnership then we can talk numbers." Reed was a little slower to respond and eventually said "I want a contract written up by a lawyer I know and I want assurances that these inventions will be for betterment of humanity not for illegal purposes." Mike nodded "those are acceptable conditions." With that their meeting ended .

POV Mike

I slept better than I should have, I had a meeting today with Tony to see his contact and get a new ID

I was worried wad he going to take me to meet Claw, Fixer, maybe even the Kingpin? I did not need any attention from them yet but I needed a new ID so I was in a bind. Tony sent a car to pick me up around noon and it took me to a high class restaurant. ( Here we go) I thought before walking in. I saw Tony immediately sitting in a booth talking to a man who was hidden behind a corner in the booth.

I approached and Tony said, "Here we are Cobblepot the young man I was just talking about, bright future ahead of him." Mike was taken aback (Penguin? that is one person I was not prepared to see.) He hid his surprise quickly and sat down to lunch with one of batman's most notorious rouges. " Nice to meet you sir" he said politely. Cobblepot responded "Same kid now I hear we have some buisness." I glanced at Tony curious how much has been said and Tony responded "He knows about your unfortunate loss of identification and need of a new one." Oswald Cobblepot spoke up "I'm a buisnessman kid your circumstances really don't matter. Pay me and I'll get the job done. Pay me enough the ID will even be official as far as the government is concerned" " How fast?" I asked. Cobblepot thought about it before awnsering " Drivers license by the end of the day birth certificate and social security number by Friday." I agreed and Cobblepot asked me what my name was I said "Mike Yamato" putting my last name the same as my favorite character from the Gundam series.

Cobblepot nodded and we finished lunch while making small talk. For a former supervillan he was quite pleasant to talk to and rather charismatic in his own way.

When lunch was over, Cobblepot left saying he had more people to meet, Tony and I got into a car that drove us to Stark International. " Tony" I asked " how do we know he will be good on his word and not try to blackmail us later?" Tony looked at me "Really you are just thinking about that now? You really are a kid, but to awnser your question I went to him for a reason." Tony paused before continuing "Reputation is everything to Cobblepot much like the banker another underworld figure. If he betrayed a client and it got around then well, let's just say that his reputation is the only thing keeping him safe. He may have gone legit officially but most of his clients definitely aren't legit." I nodded in understanding the very code that made him reliable to the criminals made him reliable to us, kind of gray area but hey beggars can't be choosers. Upon arriving at Stark International Tony led me to his office where Reed Richards was waiting with a green haired lady. "This is Jennifer Walters, you might know her better as she hulk." I looked at both of them "Is this the lawyer for both contracts?" I asked. Reed looked at me in surprise " Most people would lower her better as a Hero but you knew she was a lawyer?"He asked. I responded " Yes sir I saw her on TV arguing a case." She hulk looked surprised that someone saw her as a lawyer first most people see the green and think of her cousin. She Hulk awnsered " I am only here representing Reed, Stark has his own law team he pays for." Tony nodded "Yeah we will meet with them later but Reed and Jen here only had a short time to meet today both are busier than me."

POV Jennifer Walters

The kid was young, why was Reed wanting me to write up this contract. Ugh I barely had any time to myself these days with my cousin going off to who knows where recently. Something about "Hulk need space" then hey gone no address nobody to cover the hero work he normally does. But I owed Reed one and if this is all ot took I would put up with it. The kid looked at me and I thought for sure he was going to comment on my body my hair the fact I was a Hero stuff that had been said a thousand times. To my surprise he first commented about be being a lawyer and mentioned me being on TV arguing a case not being on TV punching some jerks lights out. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. "We sat down and went over the contract, it was for some company called Morganrote, never heard of it till I heard the kid say he was starting it up. As we talked and ironed things out the kid turned to me and asked "What is your retainer fee?" I looked confused " Why we just met and I'm representing the opposite side of this contract?" Mike smiled " My company is just getting off the ground I need a lawyer whom I can trust the fact Reed Richards and Tony Stark both know and respect you means alot." Tony looked at her and said "Mike is promising and if his company does as well as I think this could be lucrative for you." I promised to think about it and Reed and I Left to take care of our own buisness.

POV Mike

I was geeking out inside I just met she hulk! She was down to earth and acted in a professional and competent manner. I really wanted her as head of the Morganrote Legal department. I think I made a good impression but we will see.

Unfortunately that was the end of excitement Tony's lawyers came in afterwards and they were boring I almost went to sleep several times before we were done around 5. Good news was not only is I receive several million dollars I even managed to negotiate for one of Starks unused pieces of land outside of town by the coast less than an hour outside of New York and then property was massive. I left happy and went back to my motel eager to inspect the property after hearing
