The PowerPuff Girls Movie (Part 1)

(Jared's POV)

Townsville…

The skyline of Townsville at night amidst the shadows and lighted windows of the skyscrapers, a light emanates from the center.

"The city of Townsville…" The narrator said, while an explosion is suddenly heard, a red hue emanates down on Townsville streets with an alarm being heard in the distance. "...is in some serious, serious, serious trouble!"

There is a burning building with a bank that has had a large hole blasted into the side of it, possibly the well-known Bank of the Imperial Garden, the source of the alarm as it is being robbed, with the suspects' car parked crookedly in the parking lot in front of the bank so they can escape quickly, followed by a doughnut shop surrounded by four police cruisers, the cops doing nothing to deal with the bank robbery in progress, too deep in enjoying coffee and doughnuts to take notice, and then Malph's Market, the grocery store. The alarm continues in the background during each shot. Malph's parking lot is nearly completely vacant of any vehicles save for one white car parked some distance from the front of the store.

"Day after day, crime, lawlessness and evil are running rampant. Its citizens have lost all hope! They are utterly helpless and in desperate need of a true hero! But who? Is there no one who can help this forsaken town and make it a better place?!" The narrator exclaimed.

There is a grocery store aisle in Malph's, with light music in the background, as the Professor and I slowly walk into the aisle, rising high above the camera.

"Jared, it is nice that you've decided to stay with me." The Professor said, turning his head to look at me during the first part of what the Narrator says next. "Especially when it comes to my experiment."

"Fear not, fair viewers. For there is a man, a man of science. A forward-thinking man who looks back. Who looks back with his friend. Back to a sweeter time, when there was a spice to life and everything was ... nice." The narrator said.

During the Narrator's dialogue, we see several of the Professor's purchases being rung up, including a box of sugar and several spices on cue with the Narrator saying 'sweeter' and 'spice'.

"I think that's everything." The Professor said, as he collects our groceries, with the two of us hearing the sound of a gun being locked and loaded. "I wish we had someone to deal with that."

"Same." I said, looking down at the sugar and the spice. "If only."

Fuzzy Lumpkins, who goes unnamed, cocks a cartoon classic elephant gun at the distressed cashier woman, who nervously hands him the money from the register as the Professor and I look on in sadness and he slumps his back as we exit. I am drinking a bottle of Coke as I want to meet the PowerPuff Girls already. Fuzzy grins viciously as he gets what he wants from the terrified employee.

"I must profess, sir, these men, holds the ingredients to Townsville's salvation!" The narrator said, happily.

The Professor walks to his car with me and I fish for the car keys in his pocket.

"Come on." I said, and the Professor prepares to unlock the driver's side door, shadows come over him. "We have to go."

The Professor and I look back, confronted by the imposing, also-unnamed Gangreen Gang. Ace already is pulling his fist back for the first punch as Big Billy, Little Arturo, Snake, and Grubber grin viciously in preparation to beat up the Professor and I as well once their leader draws first blood.

"These men, known simply as …" The Narrator said, while Ace lands his punch to the Professor's face as Big Billy lands his punch on my face. "...The Professor and Jared Shay."

Professor Utonium's Home…

I am looking at the window to see Jojo's monkey face, screeching wildly in a psychotic frenzy, as heavy techno music plays in the background. He is in the laboratory in the basement of Professor Utonium's suburban home.

Jojo leaps from table to table to floor, destroying beakers and other fragile objects in his wake in his crazed rampage.

I looked back at the Professor, who had a grocery bag in one hand with me holding the other grocery bag. The Professor is looking very tired and distressed from what happened outside Malph's with the Gangreen Gang.

"Jared, why did you make me get a monkey as a helper again?" The Professor asked, as we watched Jojo's destruction with a distant sadness. "He's wrecking my home."

"I know. I'm sorry. I don't know what to do in the future. Against Miracle Day. I thought staying in Townsville would help. But it's so unsafe here." I said, and Jojo destroys a TV, unreels an old-fashioned magnetic tape computer, removes papers from a file cabinet, destroys a glass tubing set by hanging on it until it collapses from the stress, and punches a wall clock. "Want to go downstairs?"

"Yeah." The Professor said, while we headed downstairs for him to add in the infamous ingredients of Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice, and mix it in.

"Shit!" I said, as Jojo pushes me onto the Professor's back, causing the scientist's stirring rod to smash into a beaker of thick black liquid suspended over the pot. "I can't believe he did that…"

The words 'Chemical X' are seen in black lettering as the liquid drains from the beaker. The Professor and I stand hunched over the concoction, a look of combined horror and fascination written on our faces as it bubbles and churns in an eerily pink glow.

"Did you do that?" The Professor asked, and we are sensing the reaction becoming more agitated, with us backing away from the pot, as Jojo looks on in curiosity. "Did you?"

"Nope." I said, while the Professor and I run for cover, as Jojo watches the now violently bubbling mixture, fixated, pretty much staring at it up close, oblivious to what was about to happen. "I didn't."

A loud explosion is heard, and it becomes dark around us. Familiar giggling of three little girls is heard, as the Powerpuff logo is slowly zoomed back and a few notes of the theme song come ringing through.

As the two of us are looking from behind the pot, the Professor and I are in the distance, thrown up against a wall, the lab accoutrements destroyed from either Jojo's mayhem, the explosion, or both.

"Do you know what happened?" The Professor asked, while he wearily opened his eyes as I opened my eyes quickly. "Because of you knowing the future."

"Yup." I said, as the Professor whips backwards on his feet in surprise and leans towards the wall. "I do."

He walks forwards from a backwards angle, then he is coming forward, jaw open, and head tilting as he cannot believe what he sees.

"Of course you do."

Three beautiful, adorable pint sized little girls, with big heads and eyes, are looking up at the Professor and I, all smiles.

Standing in front of the now-empty pot, there is a blond-haired, blue-eyed one on the left her hair in pigtails, arms folded demurely in front, a red-headed, pink-eyed girl in the middle, with a festive red bow and ponytail with arms outstretched from their sides, and a black-haired with green eyes and arms folded behind on the right, her hair is in a bobbed haircut. Their dress colors match their eyes. They are also wearing matching Mary-Janes, white long socks and each dress has a black belt around their waists.

"Hi!" Blossom said, happily.

"Ah!" The Professor said, jumping backward.

"What're your names?"

"Oh, um, my name? My name is Professor! Professor Utonium!" The Professor said, bowing. "Hello!"

"Hey. My name is Jared Shay. I guess you can call me a friend of the Professor." I said, still sipping on my Coke.

"Hello, Professor Utonium and Jared Shay! It's very nice to meet the both of you!" The girls said, at the same time.

"It's very nice to meet you too! Umm.. what are your names?" The Professor asked.

"Well, you two made us, so shouldn't you both also name us?" Blossom asked.

"Umm, okay! Oh, this is so cool!" The Professor said, kneeling down, hand on chin, gesturing to the middle girl. "Well, now let's see ... because of your directness and opening right up to me, I think I'll call you ... Blossom!"

Blossom seems pleased, smiling brightly and holding her arms out in front of her. The blonde girl erupts in peals of giggles as the other two look over at her in puzzlement.

"Well, aren't you all cute and bubbly? That's it! You'll be my little Bubbles! So, we have Blossom, Bubbles, and…" The Professor said.

Focus on the third girl, eager-faced and blinking excitedly in anticipation of her christening.

"Why don't we call you Buttercup? Since it also begins with a B!" I said, excitedly.

The eager smile evaporates into a frown, as Buttercup crosses her arms in front of her.

"Hmph!" Buttercup said, annoyed.

"And together, you are three perfect little gi- gi…" The Professor said, looking at Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup.

"Professor, we should get them gifts." I said, sipping on my Coke.

"You're right, Jared. Gifts! Birthday! It's their birthday! We should get gifts!" The Professor said, rushing upstairs and into his car as he quickly talks to himself. "Wow! I can't believe it! I wanted to create some kids I could teach good and bad, right and wrong, with some help from you, and in turn, maybe they'd do some good for this terrible town, and now I can with your help! All I've got to do is be a good parent!"

The outside of the Utonium house is a three-blocked house with a tall middle piece with no windows. Professor Utonium and I quickly back out of the garage and quickly return.

"Note to self - good parents don't leave their kids home alone." The Professor said, quickly returning downstairs with me, burdened several feet above our heads with presents. "Sugar, spice, and everything nice, who would have guessed that's what little girls were actually made of? I still can't believe it worked, that we actually made three perfect little girls! Three perfect, normal little gi…ahh!"

"Blossom! Catch him!" I said, while the Professor slips on his way down the lab stairs, failing wildly as the presents go askew.

"Right!" Blossom said, catching the Professor as he falls and sets him safely down while the scientist looks astonished as the redhead floats casually in front of him. "Professor, you should be more careful when coming down the steps. You could get hurt."

Buttercup and Bubbles float into the scene, each brandishing a large pile of presents.

"Hey, are these for us?" Buttercup asked, as she is airborne holding gifts mostly in green packaging and ribbons while Bubbles is holding a few in blue wrapping.

"Yup. They're for you." I said, and the Professor, slack-jawed, simply nods robotically with the girls zooming off. "Enjoy!"

"Yeah!" Buttercup said.

"Yippee!" Bubbles said.

"Thanks, Professor, Jared!" Blossom said.

The Professor raises a hand as if to say something, but fails, slumping to the floor on his knees. I grabbed the Professor's hand to comfort him as we saw the three girls flying around the presents at great speeds, tearing them open at super-speed.

The Professor glances over at the mixing pot, over which hangs the smashed bottle of Chemical X, "So, Jared, you knew."

"That you'd create them. I've known my entire life." I said, happily.

As the Professor mulls this over in his mind, he looks back over at the girls, and his expression of astonishment melts into a joyful smile of acceptance.

Buttercup zooms in, brandishing a large pile of various toys, obviously the lion's share. Some of these goodies include: A scooter, an alligator, a bucket and spade with a ball inside it, a model airplane, a plush unicorn, a games console, a football, a boxed 'Grrrl' action figure, a Nerf gun and two...elbow pads.

"Hey, thanks!" Buttercup said, zooming off.

Blossom has chosen more frugally, carrying a stack of thick books and a globe.

"Yes, Professor, Jared, thank you!" Blossom said, zooming off.

Bubbles has chosen a single toy, a plush purple octopus with a festive top hat, the aptly-called Octi.

"This is the best gift ever, dad, Jared." Bubbles said, kissing the Professor softly on the cheek and she hugged me before floating upstairs.

"Bubbles, you should call him Octi." I said, looking down at the octopus stuffed animal. "Short for octopus."

"I will." Bubbles said, zooming off with Octi in her hands.

The Professor's face melts into an expression of pure joy, tears welling up in his eyes as I squeezed his hand.

"Yes, it is." The Professor said, softly.

The girls are flying happily above the Professor and I. I pressed a button on the radio for the music to change as I know that there is a profile of Jojo, his silhouetted brain obviously sticking far out of his skull, a definite side-effect of when he was looking too closely at the mixture that created the Girls when it blew. He does not know what to make of this, and slowly skulks away into the darkness.

Utonium House…

It is now daytime and the Professor and I are in a large, unadorned room.

The Professor holds a pink paint roller in his left hand, instructing the girls behind him, "Okay, girls, now watch me!"

"You're doing good." I said, while the Professor starts to paint the wall, but barely gets anywhere as the girls quickly outdo him, covering the walls in mere seconds.

The Professor steps out from where he was standing, covered in pink, his figure outlined in white where he was standing. The girls all put their hands to their mouths in embarrassment as if they were saying 'Oops' or 'oh!'.

"Hey, Professor! I think you missed a spot!" I said, painting over the Professor's face, just to amuse the girls causing them to laugh heartily. "You see? Now you just blossomed into someone with a bubbly personality."

"I'll go wash up, then we'll bring in the furniture." The Professor said, walking away to the nearby bathroom with me following him. "How did they find it funny?"

"I love joking around." I said, while the Professor cleans his face of the paint, takes off his coat, and rolls up his sleeves. "Come on, they're waiting."

The Professor reenters the room with me, fully clean, without his coat on, and his long sleeved shirt with his sleeves rolled up. He is in the middle of washing his hands, while the girls fly downstairs and we hear them.

"Girls, wait! You should let us....help?" The Professor asked, wiping his face with a towel.

Out on the hall, the Professor and I turned around surprised, as the girls throw furniture into the room at super speed.

"Wow." I said, as we enter the room to see that it is already laid out perfectly.

The light shade that was thrown in is already on the ceiling, a bed is at the far back with a cover of pink, blue and green spread onto it with three pillows each for the girls. A vanity table with a heart-shaped mirror is stood a foot or two away from the bed, a few cupboards and dressers sit in the corner of the room near the door. A few shelves have some toys sitting on them filling the spaces. By the closet door, sits a pile of toys and a bedside table with a lamp on top is seen on the left side of the bed.

"Whoa-ho-ho! This looks pretty good! What do you think?" The Professor asked.

"Mmm... I think it's a little dark." Bubbles said.

"Well, I like it dark." Buttercup said, scoffing.

"Some windows might be nice!" Blossom said, happily.

"Yeah! I could see some windows right about ... here! I'll call a contractor tomor…" The Professor said, and the girls pay no heed to him, as their eyes turn a red hue.

Outside the Utonium home, three sets of beams cut perfect circles in the previously windowless middle section, the wall pieces falling out on the front lawn. Back in the room, the Professor is hunched over, his hair scorched from the blast.

"Or... that works, too! Who's hungry?" The Professor asked.

In the kitchen, Blossom is holding something.

"Ready?" Blossom asked.

The other two girls are also holding items.

"Ready!" Bubbles and Buttercup said, at the same time.

"Go!" Blossom said, flinging slices of bread outward with the other two girls sling slabs of peanut butter and jelly at the flying bakery.

Buttercup slinging the peanut butter, and Bubbles slinging the jelly, to be specific.

"Professor, duck!" I said, ducking from the barrage.

"Okay." The Professor said, turning around from the refrigerator and ducks from the barrage with me.

Each element meets perfectly together, as a heaping stack of PBJs land neatly onto a plate on the kitchen table. The girls use their heat vision again, set wide beam, neatly flaking off the crusts from top to bottom.

"That's a big amount of PBJs." The Professor said, walking to the table with a tray of milk, covered head to toe in the sandwich's contents.

I looked down at myself to see that I was also covered in the sandwich's contents.

"Peanuttin' around and Jelly-ing time!" I said, as the girls give a silent gasp and cover their mouths, but the Professor simply puts the milk on the table and the five of us share a laugh. "What? Not good?"

Several hours have passed and it is now nighttime in the Utonium home.

The Professor comes downstairs to the main level, drying his hands.

"Okay girls, time for…" The Professor said.

The living room is a complete mess. Amidst the disorder, the three girls have fallen asleep. Blossom lies sleeping over a pile of books, Buttercup is zonked out on a pillow on the sofa with remote in hand, and Bubbles lies nestled up near her octopus and several sheets of paper and crayons.

The Professor tilts his head and smiles, "...bed."

The Professor and I are getting the girls ready for bed. The Professor washes Blossom's face with a rag and puts Buttercup in her nightie as I tucks Bubbles' octopus under her arm. She grins appreciatively in her sleep and nestles the toy closer.

The Professor and I tuck the girls in, and we turn off the lights, closing the door behind us smiling sweetly all the way.

"How tough is Miracle Day?" The Professor asked, and we returned downstairs to attend to the mess.

"I'm out of my element." I said, while Octi is amongst the pile.

Picking up books, the Professor focuses on a piece of paper left on the floor, then smiles broadly before showing me the piece of paper. It is a drawing done by Bubbles, of the three girls, the Professor, and I, drawn crudely but adorable.

It is now daytime in the Utonium house.

The Professor enters the girls' room, carrying three color-coordinated dresses with black belts.

"Wake up girls, time for school!" The Professor said, happily.

"What's school?" The girls asked, in unison.

Pokey Oaks Kindergarten…

It is an elementary school building with a large sign outside reading Pokey Oaks kindergarten. Inside, a young, brunette lady with big blue eyes and modest brown dress hunches next to the three girls, with the Professor and I standing behind them. She is obviously the teacher.

"This is school! I'm your teacher, Ms. Keane, and this is where kids come to learn! See?" The teacher asked, as the girls looked anxiously.

Seventeen kids are seen, chatting happily, doing various things from reading books to playing with trucks. One nondescript little boy walks up.

"Hey, you wanna play?" A boy asked.

The girls look uncertain for a moment at the boy, look to Ms. Keane for approval, who nods, then their faces light up in joy. They run off happily with him. The Professor doesn't seem to share their enthusiasm, and expresses his concerns to Ms. Keane.

"Umm, do you think they'll be okay? Cause I'm new at this parenting thing, and I wanted to come and meet you, and see them off on their first day, cause they're really special. I mean really special, and I just want to make sure they'll be okay so, so what do you think? Do you think they'll be okay?" The Professor asked.

"They'll be fine, Professor. I like Ms Keane. She's trustworthy." I said, and the girls have easily acclimated to the group; one would not notice them standing out at all. "She knows how to deal with kids like Clara Oswald. I'll watch some cartoons while you pick up the girls in a few hours."

Ms. Keane shrugs the Professor off, "He's right. They'll be just fine, Professor. We'll see you at noon as Jared watches TV!"

Ms. Keane pushes the professor out the door with me walking towards the exit as the Professor looks back nervously at his girls.

"Okay, bye girls, bye! Bye! Buh-bye! Bye! Uh bye!" The Professor said, while Ms. Keane shuts the door behind him and I. She then addresses the class.

The Professor and I are waving in the window nearest the door.

(Open POV)

"Okay class, take your seats." Ms. Keane said.

A girl and a boy at one table gesture to Ms. Keane.

"Ms. Keane, can Blossom sit with us?" A girl asked.

"Can we sit with Bubbles?" Another girl asked.

A brown-haired boy, with a gruff Popeye-like voice, gestures at Buttercup. His shirt says 'Mitch Rocks', implying but not stating his name. This is Mitch Mitchelson.

"Can Buttercup sit over here?" Mitch asked.

Ms. Keane walks over and places the girls at an empty table in the center.

"The girls can sit right here in the middle, so they'll be next to everyone!" Ms. Keane said, as the class erupts in cheers. "Now, let's begin!"

A few hours have passed and it goes from 9 am to noon. A knock on the door it's Professor Utonium, waving sheepishly with a silly grin.

"Hello Professor, right on time! Your girls are right outside with the other children." Ms. Keane said.

The Professor spies the messy classroom, and becomes distraught, "Oh no! Look at this mess! Ohh, I knew the girls would be a handful, but I'm so sorry."

"What, this?" Ms. Keane asked, scoffing. "This is what happens when you put twenty little kids in one room. Your girls were perfect. Perfect, normal, well-behaved little girls."

"Nothing out of the ordinary?" The Professor asked.

"No, like what?" Ms. Keane asked.

The girls are with another child, unnamed but similar to Kim. Buttercup and Blossom watch on as Bubbles plays hopscotch, throwing a stone to the second square and hopping there. Blossom approves while Buttercup frowns.

"That was sweet!" Blossom said, happily.

"What's the point of this game anyway?" Buttercup asked.

Mitch runs up, and bumps the other girl.

"Tag! You're it!" Mitch said, and the other girl giggles, running after him.

The kids all run away from the girl in a circular pattern, while the Utonium kids stand still, confused.

"Whoa! Everyone's running from that girl! It's like she's been infected!" Blossom siad.

"Maybe she's a freak." Buttercup said.

"Yeah, and they hate her!" Buttercup said.

Another nondescript girl appears, and touches Bubbles on the arm. Bubbles looks very distressed.

"Tag, you're it!" A third girl said.

"Oh no! I've been infected!" Bubbles said, looking between Blossom and Bubbles.

Mitch walks in, "All right, what's going on here?"

"I've been infected."

"You're not in-fec-ted, it's just a game!" Mitch said, smacking his head.

"It is?" Bubbles asked.

"Yeah!"

"A game; neat!" Blossom said.

"Yeah, how do we play?" Buttercup asked.

"Okay, look: it's very simple. Bubbles, tag me." Mitch said, groaning, and outstretches his arm to Bubbles as she looks hesitantly at it. "Come on, it's okay." Very slowly, Bubbles reaches forward and pokes him quickly before quickly withdrawing. "All right, now I'm it. And all you gots to do to play is tag someone else." He tags Buttercup. "And they're it!" Mitch walks out, and walks back. "By the way, you're it!"

Mitch runs away.

"Awesome, I'm it!" Buttercup said, shaking her arms. "What do I do, what do I do, what do I do?!"

"Just tag someone else! And they're it!" Mitch said, running away.

Buttercup looks at him a bit uncertainly. Then her eyes shift over to her sisters, as her brows furrow in a mischievously wicked smile. Blossom and Bubbles look at each other uneasily, then back at Buttercup, nervous smiles planted on their faces. Then run off slowly, as Buttercup breaks into a big smile and pursues them. The other two girls giggle as they run. Looking back, Blossom sees her green-eyed sister catching up to them.

"Time to put it into overdrive, Bubbles!" Blossom said, excitedly.

They speed up, quickly passing by Ms. Keane, the Professor, and the other school children. Buttercup senses this and likewise increases her speed. The other two girls see where this is going, and again increase their speed, their eyes clenched shut in concentration. As the girls continue to increase their speed, the scenery becomes a speedy blur. As Buttercup races forward, a green trail begins to emanate behind her, and a streak of fire issues from her feet. Bubbles, blissfully unaware of her sister's proximity, is caught unawares as Buttercup gives her a full-force shove, sending her careening out of control.

"Tag! Yooooooouuuuuu're IT!" Buttercup said, accentuating her last word with Bubbles is sent grinding into the pavement and blasting a huge wall into the side of the school.

The schoolyard audience leaps back in shock and fear. Bubbles comes bursting out of the roof in a blue parabolic arc, feet jackknifing downwards as she falls.

"I'm gonna tag you guys now!" Bubbles said.

The other girls quickly break through the schoolyard fence, narrowly avoiding capture as Bubbles slams into the pavement, creating a dust cloud and a large crater. As she slowly pops her head out of the hole, Buttercup and Blossom are a good ten yards away, standing straight and looking at their deposed sister.

"Haha! You missed us!" Buttercup said.

Bubbles stands there pensively for a moment, then quickly smashes them into a house across the street, "Haha! Tag! You're it!"

The house is desiccated and the skyline of Townsville is alright for the most part. As the girls' voices fade out, the results of their mayhem become apparent, as explosions, crashes, flying trees, cars, and cows evidence their destruction.

"No! No, I'm not! Tag, you're it!" Blossom said.

"Tag!" Buttercup said.

"Missed me! No, you're it!"

"Missed me!"

"Tag!"

"Tag!" Bubbles said.

"Gotcha!" Buttercup said.

"Missed me!" Blossom said.

Their voices trail off into the distance, as a slow pan shows the school children looking onward in gaping astonishment and shock at what they just witnessed. The scene zooms in on the Professor and Ms. Keane. As the teacher stares blankly at what has just transpired, the Professor grins sheepishly again, and takes this convenient opportunity to leave unnoticed through the quite-ample new doorway.

Townsville…

The Professor is rushing off from home in his car. His license plate reads 'PRFDADY' (a reference to either the words 'Professor, Daddy', or a sly reference to Craig McCracken's handle 'PuffDaddy' on PPG forums. Bubbles and Buttercup, flying at super speed, rush through the city and over a sign that reads, 'You are now leaving the City of Townsville'.

"Whee!" Bubbles said.

Blossom busts right through the sign, clearly the one who is it. The Professor, moments too late, speeds down the nearby street.

"Girls, no! Wait!" The Professor said.

Bubbles and Buttercup zip around buildings to avoid their tagged sister. The Professor looks up at Blossom, hairbow swept back by the wind as she makes several hairpin turns. In a rear view, as she starts to catch up to her other sisters, they speed up, setting all three off in a dazzling whirl of 90 degree turns through the city streets. As they fly, they drag items from papers to cars in the vacuum of their wake. A red ball is also seen bouncing merrily along. At one point, Blossom gasps and grinds her feet to a halt in front of two very surprised people. Using her super hearing, accentuated by animated sonar waves, Blossom cups her arm to her ear, hearing Buttercup's joyful laughter, and a taunting 'can't catch me' from Bubbles. The building reads 801. Pausing momentarily to decide where to go, Blossom zips off to the right, leaving the two onlookers to stare at her trail, before narrowly avoiding the flying debris that strikes the building's front, notably a car, whose collision is accentuated from several angles. The Professor, still in control of his vehicle, is not far behind, hanging a hard right to follow Blossom. His face is marked with worry.

"Oh no!" The Professor said.

The same red ball bumps into the Professor's car and continues down Blossom's path. Blossom is keeping her at a fixed distance and focus as she nimbly zooms down city streets. The roadway behind her glows red and cracks, erupting into flaming debris. Becoming more careless now, Blossom zigzags down a street, leaving a canyon-sized streak behind her. Buttercup, who has chosen to flee by flying. At a three-way intersection, Buttercup turns left, and the rampaging Blossom just passes her on the straightaway. Turning back o.c., she pummels her way back down Buttercup's path. Following Blossom fixedly behind again, she pursues her flying sister down several twisting streets. Inside a car, a tall thin long-haired young male driver and his shorter, fatter black-haired male friend cry out as the two girls zoom out right in front of them and into busy traffic. The driver brakes hard and jerks left, ramming into a large store windowpane. Destroying several more cars, Blossom admires her handiwork, then gasps as she looks forward and notices the traffic jam in front of her. She narrowly zigs between the car lanes, and up onto the side of the adjacent buildings, leaving a similar gouging pattern behind her. Blossom runs parallel to the ground across the buildings. Bubbles, for her part, seems to be enjoying this immensely, eyes closed and arms outstretched as she lets out a girlish 'whee!' Blossom sees her fly by in the opposite direction, and returning to the ground again, she briefly stops at a street corner before returning alternately to the buildings and ground. Now on her blonde sister's tracks, she pursues the unseen Bubbles down several more streets. Something catches her attention, and she stops, looking upwards with a gasp. Her pupils contract rapidly, with a sound similar to a lens instrument focusing in on a distant object. It's a large glass dome ball atop a building, similar in form to a disco ball. Seeing Bubbles' trail in its reflective surface, Blossom zooms in closer and closer to calculate her sister's location.

"Subway, huh?" Blossom asked, while her eyes re-dilate, and she scopes the nearest subway entrance, and she darts down the tunnel in a spiral fashion, leaving her customary trail.

Bubbles is still blissfully unaware of her would-be captor, continuing to fly without heed to direction. Blossom exits the subway and stands confidently at its exit. Bubbles gasps, suddenly aware of her sister's plot, and hitting the pavement, grinds to a halt mere inches from her sister.

"Tag! You're it!" Blossom said, flying off slowly, an air of smugness written all over her as she blows a raspberry at Bubbles, who for her part takes this in for a moment, then looks quite angry, bursting upwards at high velocity and leaving a massive crater behind her.

The debris hits several buildings, and narrowly misses the Professor's car. He gasps as he spots the girls.

"There they are ... !" The Professor said, as he hits the crater left by Bubbles, and his car does a complete backflip with a perfect landing.

The red ball hits his car again.

"Watch out, here she comes!" Blossom said.

Bubbles is now the pursuer. Narrowly missing her two flying sisters, she backpedals by pushing off of the glass globe, which we can now clearly see is the logo of Olive Corp. The impact shatters the narrow base, and the sphere rolls off the building top. As pedestrians scream in horror, the globe smashes into a street way and starts rolling downwards, the surroundings mirrored in its surface. It hits a building at a street corner, and turns onto another road, smashing stores left and right as it bumps back-and-forth down the street. A distant shot shows the girls continuing to flee from Bubbles, smashing into various buildings along the way. As they head towards ground, the force of one impact actually causes the road to curl upwards, sending cars hurling upwards as the wave of asphalt hits them. Buttercup, stationary, pops her head out from behind a corner building, laughing to herself for giving her sisters the slip.

"Hah, suckers!" Buttercup said, and the road wave reaches her, and she is sent spinning vertically into the air, with a blank expression on her face.

Bubbles zooms up to Buttercup and tags her just at the height of her climb, "Tag, you're it!"

The girls zoom past the inside a rather swank looking home high above the city, where a smooth-talking gentleman is wooing a young lady. A car is seeing hurtling towards the room's full-wall windows.

"You know, I've got a nice car." A smooth man said.

Right before the car hits, and from down below, the Professor looks upwards at the high-story impact, as glass rains down on his car. He spies the girls, finally stopped, high in the air in a circle.

"Huh?" The Professor asked.

"Tag, you're it!" Bubbles and Blossom said, tagging Buttercup.

"Hey!" Buttercup said, angrily.

The two girls disappear behind a post-modern style building, and Buttercup, looking left and right, gives a banshee scream as she angrily realizes she's lost them. Tired of playing around, she smashes a beeline right through several buildings. Blossom and Bubbles are standing calmly above a building similar to the Seattle Space Needle.

"She'll never find us up here!" Blossom said, while Buttercup smashes through several more buildings in a fury of anger. "Do you hear something?"

The pursuer smashes through a sign labeled gas, which for some reason, is actually filled with a flammable substance. She zooms forward, trailing the edge of the giant fireball billowing out behind her.

"Whoa! Run!" Blossom and Bubbles said, at the same time.

As the two anxiously flee, Buttercup zooms behind them and taps them both. Their forms are silhouetted behind the massive fireball emanating in the background.

"Tag, you're both it!" Buttercup said.

The three stop, and argue as a fire rages on behind them.

"Hey! We can't both be it!" Blossom said.

"Why not?" Buttercup asked.

"Tag!" Bubbles said, touching Blossom.

"What?! I can't be it twice!" Blossom said.

"Why not?"

"Okay then, tag! Now you guys are it!"

"Tag!" Buttercup said, touching Bubbles.

"Tag!" Bubbles said, touching Blossom and Buttercup.

"Hey, no tag backs!" Buttercup said, touching Blossom. "Tag!"

"Tag!" Blossom said, touching Bubbles.

"Tag, tag, tag, tag, tag, tag, tag!" The three girls said, touching each other.

The Professor turns a corner and screeches to a halt. He has a good view of the girls from a giant hole through several buildings.

"Tag, tag, tag! You're it! No, you're it!" The girls said, still touching each other.

They take off again, in an elaborate design of flying patterns.

Mayor's office…

The Mayor is in a stately room as he is a diminutive man looking at the raging destruction.

"Oh, boy." The Mayor said, throws open a set of large double doors, his now-visible face revealing a bald head, top hat, white mustache and single monocle with one eye clenched shut.

A sash across his chest says 'Mayor'. As he scuttles his small legs across the red-carpeted floor, he continues to chant to himself.

"Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Oh, boy." The Mayor said.

Jared closed his eyes to imagine the girls doing whatever they're doing, then to the Professor driving, and then back to the Mayor as he walks down a long room with tall windows, then the order repeats itself.

"Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Oh, boy." The Mayor said.

At this point, a shapely buxom babe in alluring red outfit walks into the scene, executing a perfect quick pace in killer high heels. Her face is conveniently off camera. Her name is never expressly mentioned, but she is known as Ms. Sara Bellum. She matches the mayor's quick little trot as they head down a large flight of stairs.

"Oh, boy, is right, Mayor. It's terrible, the town is being destroyed by three girls with freakish powers. This is a very serious situation. What action do you propose we take?" Ms. Bellum asked.

The action continues to switch between the girls, Professor, and Mayor once more. Several concerned businessmen are shoving papers in Ms. Bellum's face.

"Don't worry, gentlemen, the Mayor and I have the situation under control." Ms. Bellum said.

"Oh, boy." The Mayor said.

"I know, sir."

There are now a large crowd of people is surrounding the two politicians.

"Oh, boy." The Mayor said.

"You tell 'em, Mayor. Townsville will not stand for this kind of behavior." Ms. Bellum said.

Now the mayoral group is outside, led by the diminutive public official.

"Uh, Mayor? Hello? City being destroyed? Where are you going?" Ms. Bellum asked.

"Oh, boy!" The Mayor said, happily.

"Mayor, what are you doing? We're in a serious pickle." Ms. Bellum said.

"Exactly."

The group stops mid-stride. The mayor is in front of a food cart. The Professor rushes behind the girls.

"Girls, no!" The Professor said, worried.

The vendor is seen busying himself inside the food cart.

"Hello." The Mayor said, clearing his throat.

The vendor pops his head out. He looks like the mayor's twin brother, but with a black mustache, a bad Italian hat, and an even worse Italian accent.

"Hello." Cucor said.

"The usual, Cucor." The Mayor said.

At this point, Cucor's nose looks like a giant bumpy pickle.

"Ahh, yes. I have a fine vintage for you here. Picked fresh today." Cucor said, giving an approving smack.

The Mayor has a detailed view of a moist green pickle is lofted high with a pair of tongs, brine dripping off its bumpy surface.

"Oh, boy!" The Mayor said.

At this point, continually tagging the girls are still continually tagging each other and the Mayor, slowly bringing the pickle towards his mustachioed lips. As the girls barrel forward, they strike the pickle cart outside Town Hall, the resultant explosion blasting everyone backward. As the smoke clears, it reveals a giant impact crater left by the girls' impact, and the vendor cart demolished. The girls are lying down in the center, laughing giddily and rapidly talking about the game. The Professor runs into the scene and over the pile of dazed bodies.

"Girls, girls, are you okay?" The Professor asked.

All three get up and nab the Professor.

"Tag! You're it, Professor!" The girls said, laughing. Laughing

The Mayor is lying prostrate on the ground, his beloved pickle tumbling out of his grasp. From Town Hall, the true extent of destruction is the glass ball smashes into another building and comes to a halt. The entire city of Townsville with it's true extent of the damage has buildings that are pockmarked with house-sized holes, and the Space Needle building's top takes this opportunity to fall over and jabs into the ground like an oversized dart.

(Jared's POV)

Utonium home…

The girls, still full of energy, zip up and down the levels.

The Professor addresses them in a grave and tired, but a not unloving voice, "Okay, girls. Girls, it's almost bedtime, okay? Girls?"

"Come on, Professor. You're it. You gotta catch us." Blossom said.

"Yes, I suppose I do, don't I?" The Professor asked, smiling, then deflates.

I walked slowly up the stairs, and chose the opportune time to catch the wayward Bubbles.

"Eep!" Bubbles said.

"I got you, Sailor Moon, you little bunny, you." I said, happily.

Peeking out from behind the fireplace, the Professor snatches a Buttercup.

"Help! I got gutted! Blossom, watch out!" Buttercup said.

"You're the sole survivor!" Bubbles said, mock-waveringly.

Blossom speeds off, bouncing several times off the sofa, "No way, Professor, Jared. You can't catch me."

I then handed Bubbles over to Professor Utonium.

"Oh, yes, I can, because the game's over, and it's your bedtime. Now come up here so we can catch you." The Professor said, sternly.

Blossom looks up dejectedly from the end of the couch. She slowly floats up, where the other two girls grab on to her and pull them all giggling into the Professor's arms. He carries them over to their room.

"Well, now, three little girls had a very busy day today, didn't they?" The Professor asked.

"Yeah, it was fun. We met lots of kids." Bubbles said.

"And we learned things." Blossom said.

"And we played tag!" Buttercup said.

"Mm-hmm. Well, we're glad you had so much fun because tomorrow will be a busy day too. So let's get your nighties on and into bed. There's something we should talk about." The Professor said, closing the door behind him.

The Professor and I walked down the stairs and I jumped down onto the couch for me to fall asleep on. The whole night passed and I woke up and got ready.

I then walked up to the PowerPuff Girls' bedroom with the Professor opening the door to see the girls firmly tucked into bed.

"Okay, everybody in?" The Professor asked.

"Yup, what's up, Daddy-o?" Buttercup asked.

"Well, it's your superpowers." The Professor said, sighing. "I'm not sure how to say this, but I don't think you should use them in public anymore."

"Why?" The girls asked, at the same time.

"Well, your powers are very special and unique. And although we have a lot of fun doing unique things around the house, out in Townsville, people just don't understand how special you girls are yet. And unfortunately, people often get scared or angry when they don't understand something special or unique."

"That's silly." Blossom said.

"Well, I think so too, but nonetheless, uhh take it easy with the powers tomorrow. Just give Townsville a little time to understand your specialness, okay?" The Professor asked.

"Okay." Bubbles said.

"Okay." Blossom said.

"Yeah, yeah." Buttercup said.

"But people here are nice, things will be fine." Blossom said.

(Open POV)

A stack of newspapers hits the street. It's the Townsville Tribune. On the top half of the cover is a cut-off picture of Buttercup, with the words 'Freaky Bug-Eyed Weirdo Girls Broke Everything' in large bold print, ala New York Times. In the shadows of an alley, the slanty eyes of Jojo are seen reading the paper. The paper is a wealth of inside jokes. The face of Craig McCracken, the series creator, is seen in a watermark in the upper left corner. The paper also reads July 3rd the opening date of the Powerpuff movie. And the back has a picture of a Gorillaz poster. Jojo's voice has obviously lowered.

"Hmm." Jojo said, laughing maniacally.

His evil laugh gets louder and is replaced with the three girls outside the school building, and the Professor and Jared are in the car.

"So, we'll be waiting here to pick you up when school gets out, okay?" The Professor asked.

"I'll keep the Professor busy as you three have fun at school." Jared said, happily.

"Okay, but don't worry, Professor. Things are gonna be fine. Jared, keep the Professor safe." Blossom said, smiling.

Pokey Oaks Kindergarten…

The girls walk in the door. The classroom is a wreck. There is a giant hole in the wall and a trail where Bubbles impacted, a smaller hole in the ceiling, and a river of water flowing through the middle of the room from Bubble's trail. There is the loud sound of construction work, and all eyes are fixed on the girls' entrance. Ms. Keane looks surprised, but the rest of the kids have murder in their eyes. A sharp contrast to how they were so friendly to the Girls the previous day.

"OH, GIRLS, WE DIDN'T KNOW IF YOU'D BE JOINING US TODAY. TAKE YOUR SEATS." Ms. Keane said, loudly.

The girls take their seats in the middle. The other kids glare at them and push their desks away from them.

"I'M SORRY TO SAY THERE WON'T BE ANY RECESS FOR A WHILE DUE TO ALL THE RECONSTRUCTION. SECONDLY, I'M AFRAID WE WON'T HAVE ANY LIGHTS OR WATER FOR A WHILE. AND A BROKEN REFRIGERATOR MEANS SNACK TIME IS OUT. SO LET'S TRY TO IGNORE ALL THE WORKMEN AND NOISE AND SUCH AND GET RIGHT TO WORK, SHALL WE? GIRLS, CAN YOU RECITE THE ALPHABET FOR US?" Ms. Keane asked.

The three girls are sitting quite dejectedly in the midst of all this. Bubbles' pigtails have drooped, and she is looking down quite depressed at the table. Blossom is trying to look somewhere away from the chaos but isn't too happy. Buttercup has a weak smile on her face to hide her sadness and culpability. The other kids are throwing dagger looks at the girls, hatred written all over their faces compared to the day before.

"GIRLS? ABC'S?" Ms. Keane asked.

The noise thankfully abates for a few moments, as the girls, with closed eyes and sad expressions, softly and sadly recite the alphabet. Each letter is an effort to get out.

"A, B, C, D… E!" The girls said, in unison.

A plank hits the girls in the heads as they accentuate the vowel. Several construction workers are fixing the hole in the roof.

"Hey, Carl, dang it! You done darn broke my board. Flam dangling consardner." A construction worker said.

Looking even more dejected, and with a ruined hairbow, the girls continue even more miserably.

"F…" The girls said, in unison.

Utonium home…

The Professor is at home with me, as the two of us are looking at the aforementioned paper. Said newspaper is obscuring the Professor's face as the scientist seems unaffected by the subject material. On the back page is an advice columnist. The first question reads something like, I have to compete for an animated feature in six months.

The Professor's watch beeps, "Oh, almost time to pick up the girls. Better motor."

"Professor! Don't!" Jared said, as the Professor locked the door behind him when the fanboy exited the house too to be confronted by an angry mob of people, led by the Mayor and the local authorities.

"That's them, boys! They're in cahoots with the evil pickle cop killers. Cucumber crushers, vinegar violates. Dil-stroyers! Why, it's just not kosher! It's…" The Mayor said.

Ms. Bellum's feet walk into the scene. The Mayor barely reaches her mid-calves.

"Let it go, Mayor. Let it go." Ms. Bellum said, holding up a wanted poster from the Sheriff's Department, below her face, of the Professor and Jared with the three girls. The poster also reads 'Mass Destruction'. "Are these your babies?"

"Why, yes. But they were just playing. They're really very good little girls. And we need to pick them up from school." The Professor said.

"I understand, sir, but we really would like for you and your friend to come downtown with us so we can ask you a few questions." Ms. Bellum said.

Two large burly cops manhandle the Professor and Jared.

"You guys, my kids. We really oughta pick 'em up." The Professor said, as he and Jared gets thrown in the police car. "We can't just leave 'em there…alone."

Pokey Oaks Kindergarten…

The girls, at a distance, standing outside the school near the flagpole. The school has been deserted for some time, and it's nearing sunset. The shadows lengthen, and it's soon nighttime, with the girls still standing in their same pose.

Buttercup breaks the long silence, "They're not coming. They hate us. They totally hate us."

Bubbles starts crying. Blossom tries to console her while reasoning with Buttercup.

"No, they probably just got held up or maybe the car broke o-or maybe they just forgot or…" Blossom said, deflating. "…maybe they hates us." There is a long pause. "Come on. Let's try and find our way home."

The other two start to fly off. Blossom hangs her head.

"We're not supposed to use our powers." Blossom said, as the other two fly back down, heads held low and all three looking very sad. "Come on, girls."

The three lock hands, and begin to walk slowly down the dark and foreboding path to Townsville.

Townsville…

The scene cuts to a television newscast, joining an anchorman's speech mid-sentence. The bottom left tab says the time is 8:01, and the right tab says CTNnews.

"The cause? Three super-powered little girls." An anchorman said.

The broadcast abruptly changes over to a talk show called Incorrect Politics, where five people of various walks of life are talking. The centerman, a well-dressed Caucasian businessman, speaks.

"Should the manufacturing of super-powered children be illegal?" A businessman asked.

City Hall…

The Mayor is behind his desk.

"A great travesty has befallen our beloved city." The Mayor said.

Townsville…

There is a live report in Townsville streets where the same tall, thin and short, fat male duo are being interviewed by a reporter.

"I was reaching down between my legs to ease the seat back when this atomic boat flies in with no fair warning." The tall driver said.

The news program….

"The devastation? Devastating." The anchorman said.

The talk show…

An old lady with a gray beehive hairdo is talking this time.

"Of course it should be illegal." The old woman said.

City Hall…

The mayor has his arm and finger outstretched, "Used to be a time when you could buy an honest pickle."

Townsville…

"And they were causing an eruption and lighting up the sky." The tall driver said.

News program…

"Estimated dollars in damages? A whopping 25 million." The anchorman said.

Talk show…

A punk rocker torn right out of the 80's gets to speak, complete with green spiked mohawk.

"I'm offended just lookin' at 'em." The rocker said.

City Hall…

"The kind that you can only find, at a pickle cart.." The Mayor said, holding up two pictures of the pickle cart, in chalk outline as if it were a murder victim.

Townsville…

"Now Jamie's crying." The tall driver said.

"Well, it seems that…" The reporter said.

News program…

"The hatred is running rampant for…" The anchorman said.

The talk show…

A festively-dressed Jamaican woman gets a few words in.

"Those mutant, bug-eyed…" The Jamaican woman said.

City Hall…

"PICKLE-CART KILLIN'..." The Mayor said.

Townsville…

"Freaks. Back to you, Linda." The reporter said.

There are two new reporters: a square-jawed, white-haired anchorman and his vapid blonde female co-anchor.

"They are little freaks, aren't they? With more on this subject is…" Linda said.

The different programs are showing on a bank of TVs outside an electronics store. The girls are silhouetted in their glow. Master Shake, Frylock and Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, can be seen briefly in a screen on the left of the news anchor. As the sounds of the different shows argue with each other, a nearby camera reveals the girls' faces, full of remorse and sadness, discovering what the town truly thinks of them. They walk off slowly, just missing an emergency broadcast as it goes off on all channels.

"We interrupt this program for an important news flash. Arrested today in connection with the tag incident was the mad scientist responsible for creating the destructive girls, Professor Utonium and Jared Shay, upon incarceration, the Professor and his friend had these statements to make." The anchor lady said.
