Comments are not allowed because I want to retain my autonomy as an author. I am concerned and afraid that feedback from patrons might make my writing more mellow and less complex, potentially losing the grey, intricate feel of a Witcher-like story. Since I don’t have a community yet, it’s better for this Patreon to be a place for reading chapters rather than a discussion forum. However, if I gain a large audience, I might consider lifting the comment ban, similar to Webnovel, where readers can freely express their opinions and have equal privileges. But I know that, by creating this Patreon, I am essentially creating privileges that I must manage and allow to happen. So, I might change my mind about this in the future.
As for why I decided to open up Patreon, it’s because my effort in uploading 3 or 4 chapters daily for free, without missing a single day despite a low audience, was used as a topic for argumentation. That’s why I followed the trend of other fanfic authors in creating certain barriers and restrictions, so that only those who contribute financially can gain additional privileges.
