Chapter 3 Beeware

Late at Night

In Victor's house

Victor is seen sleeping inside his bedroom, but he is having a nightmare as he is sweating a lot and breathing rapidly. 

In his dream Victor sees that Portland is filled with bloodshed. The lifeless bodies of many Wesens can be seen. Violences of Wesen who regards themselves superior against the Wesen who prefers to live in peace with humans. 

Killing of many humans and wesens, and in the center of all this happening is Portland. In the dream, Victor was having an outer body experience and seeing all that is happening. And finally came a vision of a skull like creature with a staff which not only killed many humans but also killed all those that got in his way. He had killed everyone, and he saw that Nick after defeating the skull guy went into a portal and never returned. 

Just as he was about to inspect the portal, he wakes up form the nightmare, wet from his sweat and breathing long and heavy breaths.

Victor 'What the hell was that? It was not like a nightmare. It was like I have just remembered something that I have long forgotten but it does not make any sense.'

As Victor was thinking about his nightmare, he got up from his bed, opened a notepad and began writing what he remembered from his dreams. 

Everything was very jumbled, and he could not get precise information out of it but he got the gist of it. Portland was about to be the center of many events, bad events. There was war coming and he had a feeling that it was coming soon so he had to prepare for it. 

After finishing his thoughts and plan he decided to sleep as it was still late at night. 

Early morning. 

After waking up, Victor finishes his daily exercise and breakfast. He did not rush to work as usual. He called his staff and informed them that he will not be able to come to the restaurant today. 

He finished his breakfast then entered his basement where he kept all his tools that he has need for. 

After entering the basement, we can see lots of weapons ranging from cold weapons to hot weapons, lots of books as if it were a library, laptops, and different kinds of body suits. 

Victor entered the basement, logged in to his laptop, and began to search for things that he could remember from his dream. He had learned and mastered programming and hacking in his long life. 

If he wanted, he could get into any digital program no matter how secure. He was also able to create a simple natural language-based A.I to help him to do things he found tedious. He named it Vanya after his mother. 

Victor "Vanya open protocol 'DEADEND'"

Vanya "Boss protocol 'DEADEND' is only for case when life of Victor is going to be plunged into chaos that he is not sure that he can handle. Are you certain you want to initiate it?"

Victor "Yes I am sure."

Vanya "Initiation protocol DEADEND. All the previous digital footprint of Victor is being deleted. Deleting process completed. A new digital footprint is being created as a cover for anyone who is searching for Victor. Creation complete."

Victor "Good, now search these key words, Black claw, Captain Shawn Reinard, Adaline Shad, Kelly Burkhart, Nick Burkhart, Rosalee Calvert."

Vanya "searching..... Search complete. Boss Black claw information is very sparce but they have no operation in the current vicinity of Portland but in foreign it is a group that has the propaganda of Wesens superiority and want Wesen to rule the world."

"Captain Shawn Reinard is the head of the Portland P.D. He is also the immediate superior of Nick Burkhart. He is also the bastard son of the current king from the Royal."

"Adaline shade working as a attorney and is being currently protected by Nick Burkhart and his partner Hank as it is believed that she is under the risk of being murdered. She has contact with captain Shawn Reinard and likely to be working under his guidance."

"Kelly Burkhart, mother of Nick Burkhart believed to have died on a car crash but no conformation as her head was missing for dental confirmation. No digital footprint after the Car crash."

"Nick Burkhart…."

Victor "No need about Nick Burkhart but keep a file for him."

Vanya "Okay boss, Rosalee Calvert, a Fuchsbau, sister of Fredy Calvert who owns and spice shop downtown here. She has multiple case of drug abuse and problem with authority."

Victor "Okay keep a file about them and keep an eye out for anything that pops out about them. Especially if any of them arrive here at Portland."

Vanya "Okay boss."

Victor "hmm I need you to be present digitally a lot more than usual."

Vanya "okay boss anything specific you are looking for."

Victor "Not sure yet but anything unusual going on report it to me."

Vanya "yes boss"

Vanya "Boss there is an unusual case involving Adaline Shade and Nick Burkhart."

Victor "Ohh, let me hear it."

Vanya "Boss Adaline shade has just been attacked by a swarm of bees and Nick Burkhart was present and saved Adaline."

Victor "So a malofore."

Vanya "99% likely boss"

Victor "Do we need to interfere or can Nick handle it Vanya."

Vanya "He should be able to handle it."

Victor "hmm, he should be able to, but a little help will not hurt."

"Just deduce the possible location for its hive and send him the address."

Vanya "Yes boss. Searching... Melisha Wincroft primary suspect and done."

Nick POV

Nick just got a text message from Victor.

'Primary suspect for mob flash murder: Melisha Wincroft related to the case for closure of her business.'

Hank "What is it, Nick?"

Nick "I just got a text form my source about a possible lead for a case."

Hank "Then what are we waiting for?"

Victor POV

Victor "Vanya Thanks"

Vanya "That's what you made me for boss."

Victor "hehehe that I did."

Victor then goes to his backyard that connects to the woods and he began to practice his martial arts with different weapons like sword, mace, axe, as well as his Gun Fu. 

After finishing his training, he goes back in his house takes a shower and is resting when he hears a knock on the door. 

Victor 'Who could it be? At this hour."

Victor goes to the door and through the peep hole he sees that it is Nick and Monroe. He releases the breath that he did not know he was holding and opens the door. 

Nick "Hey Victor thanks for your help in the case today."

Victor smiles and says, "No problem."

Monroe "hey I came to see the books."

Victor welcomes them inside the room. 

As they were having the drink and talking amongst themselves Victor suddenly suggested that they should all train together. 

Nick and Monroe readily agree.

Then Nick tells Victor that Melisha warned him that someone is coming for him, and he is close. 

Victor thinks for a while about it and tells him "I will look for it and if I find anything I will tell you." 

Nick "By the way how did you know who did it."

Victor "Hehehehe It is secret for another time."

Nick and Monroe 'Sometimes I Can't help but wonder if he is really as old as I heard or really childish.' 

They sigh and then look at each other as if mimicking each other and then they begin laughing.
