chapter 8: his dream

"Hey when can I see mom." Tatsou asked

"I don't know." she replied

"I've never seen her so what does she look like?" Tatsou asked

"True you weren't allowed to see her because we were to be separated from our parents just like everyone else here." she said

"Why were you able to see her?" Tatsou asked

"Because when your five through seven you get sent here but they found you too so they sent both of us here. But you were only a baby they had no right to take you and put you here." she said

"It's alright I was able to stay with you." Tatsou said

Time skip.

"Sis where are you!" Tatsou yelled as he was running around the building

"What is it?" she said as she came out of a room

"I keep hearing something and I want it to stop." Tatsou said

"Come on kid get over it." Xiuhcoatl said

"There it is again." Tatsou said as he looked around

"Alright come in." she said as she moved to the side

"Can you make it stop?" Tatsou asked

"Sit." she said

"Ok." Tatsou said as he sat down on the floor

She came over and put her hands on his head. In his mind.

"So you must be it." she said

"Yes I am." Xiuhcoatl said

"You must go." she said

"I'm sorry but I can't he is the only I can stay in." Xiuhcoatl said

"Then stay in me." the sister said

"I'm sorry but you don't have any dragon blood in you to keep me I will have to get to your brother eventually." Xiuhcoatl said. "I'm sorry."

"What do I have to do to get him out of here?" she asked

"Don't know." Xiuhcoatl said

"Sis?" Tatsou asked

"I'm sorry." she said as she grabbed hold of him and started crying

"For what?" Tatsou asked

A couple hours later Xiuhcoatl explained to Tatsou what he was and that he was the last person he could stay in.

"What will happen to me?" Tatsou asked

"Don't know." Xiuhcoatl said

"Tatsou you have a tail." the sister said

"I do." Tatsou said as he looked behind him

"Well we need to leave now." Xiuhcoatl said

"Why do we need to leave?" Tatsou asked

"They will be coming if they find out about you." Xiuhcoatl said

"They?" Tatsou asked

"They will come and take you and that will be the last I see of you and you of me." the sister said

"Then let's go and get out of here." Tatsou said

"Can't do that they got us surrounded and so quickly." Xiuhcoatl said

"Come out quietly and we won't have any problems." someone said

"Well let's test our strength." Xiuhcoatl said as he changed Tatsou to his awakened dragon form

He broke down some of the building.

"Sorry." Xiuhcoatl said

"The dragon is here!" someone yelled

"Come on." Xiuhcoatl said as he held out his hand

She got on his hand and he flew up into the air.

"We're leaving." he said as he flew to a different location

He change in midair to his human form.

"Sis!" Tatsou yelled as he jumped up

He looked at his wing.

"Why do I taste blood?" Tatsou asked himself

"Well you're finally up after three days." Lane said as she came in

"Three days." Tatsou said

"Yes now get up and come with me." Duncan said as he came in

"Ok." Tatsou said as he got up and walked over to him

They went out.

"Hey look a dragon." a kid whispered

A little girl came up to Tatsou.

"You look pretty." she said then she ran off

"Um thank you." Tatsou said

"Well come on the "lord" wants to see you." Duncan said as he kept walking

They got to a building and went in.

"This is as far as I go." Duncan said as he stopped. "All you have to do is go through that door."

"Thank you." Tatsou said as he went through the door

"Welcome." the lord said. "My name is Luke."

"Hello my name is Tatsou." Tatsou said

"Well sit down." Luke said

"Ok." Tatsou said as sat down

"Let me tell right now when that wing heals your leaving this place." Luke said

"Alright." Tatsou said as he got up and walked out the door

Outside.

"Hey Haku do you think that kid is going to be ok with him." Duncan said in his head

"I think he'll be ok." a dragon said

"Your no help you know that Haku." Duncan said

"Why thank you." Haku said

"Hey come on." Tatsou said as he came up to him

"Alright but first I want to show you something." Duncan said as he started walking a different direction

"Ok." Tatsou said as he looked at him then followed him

They got to a building further away from the camp.

"We're here." Duncan said as he turned around

"What is this place?" Tatsou asked

"Well you know that kids you meet or they meet you, they have no parents so I kind of take care of them." Duncan said

"Duncan!" a kid yelled as she ran up to him and a couple of other kids ran up behind her

"Hey Ella." duncan said as he looked at her

"When can we join the glaive!" another one yelled as he came up to him

"You can't till your older." Duncan said

"Hey it's you again!" the girl yelled as she came up to Tatsou

"Um hi." Tatsou said as he looked at her

"Zoey come on we have to go and eat." Duncan said

"Who's cooking today?" the boy asked

"Anna." Duncan said

"Oh no not her." Ella said

"Caleb go on with the other two." Duncan said

"Come on guys let's go." Caleb said as he ran ahead of them

"Wait for us." the other said as they followed

Duncan looked at Tatsou and saw him drooling.

"Are you hungry?" he asked

"Yes I haven't eaten for two weeks." Tatsou replied

"Two weeks!" Duncan yelled

"Yes." Tatsou said

"Well come on and after that come with me." Duncan said as he started walking

Tatsou followed him to a building where the three kids went to.

"Anna you have another one!" Duncan yelled

"Okay!" Anna yelled back

They got their bowls and ate it and Tatsou got another bowl.

"How can you eat that?" Caleb asked

"I haven't eaten in two weeks." Tatsou said

"Well come now let's go." Duncan said

"Alright." Tatsou said as he got up

They went to a spot near a cliff and stood there for a minute.

"Alright what did "he" say to you?" Duncan asked

"Basically he said when my wing heals I have to leave." Tatsou said

"Of course." Duncan said

"What's wrong?" Tatsou asked

"I'm his son but he never cared he only cared for Anna and my mom. Only captain took care of me so I joined the Glaive and I was the youngest there, I was only able to stay there and watch over Anna and have no social contact with her." Duncan said

"Sorry but at least you had parents." Tatsou said

"What do you mean?" Duncan said

"Me and my sister were never able to see our mom well my sister was but not me." Tatsou said

"Yes back in that place to was called a sin to have your kids five through seven so they take them during that time period." Haku said

"My sister told me that I was only a baby. When I asked her to describe what mom looked like she didn't do it." Tatsou said

Tatsou looked over and saw odd looking flowers.

"What are those?" Tatsou asked

"Don't know." Duncan replied

"Those are dragon flowers they basically hold memories of people who have dragon blood in them like you." Haku said

"Wait I remember these. My sister showed me these." Tatsou said as he an up to them and sat down and closed his eyes

"Wait what are you doing?" Duncan asked as he came up to him

By that time Tatsou was speaking a totally different language.

"What language is he speaking?" Duncan asked

"My language." Haku said

"Is there something I should worry about?" Duncan asked

"Not yet." Haku said

"What do you mean?" Duncan asked

"Doing this requires more than one person but they're post to be adults so we have to be careful about this." Haku said

Then the dragon flower started to open up slowly.

"Haku." Duncan said

"Not yet." Haku said

Orbs of light came out and flowers.

"What is that?" Duncan asked

"Memories of the people with dragon blood." Haku said

"It's kind of pretty." Duncan said

"Duncan get him if he keeps going he's going to lose it." Haku said

"Hey open your eyes." Duncan said as he shook him

"Not working." Haku said

"Alright let's try this." Duncan said as he pinched Tatsou's nose and kept it there then Tatsou tried to gasp for air. "There we go." then Duncan let go of his nose

He almost face planted into the ground but Duncan caught him.

"What happened?" Tatsou asked as he looked at him

"You didn't stop. So I to made you." Duncan said as he pulled him back up from him

Tatsou looked at his hand.

"What happened to your hand?" Tatsou asked

"Well you bit it do you remember?"Duncan said

"Sorry I don't but I did taste blood." Tatsou said

"Yes it was mine." Duncan said

"I'm sorry." Tatsou said as he looked away

"It's alright but there is something I must tell you." Duncan said
