279. Gali in Danger?

"WHAT? He's your Grandpa?" Vivi asked again.

"Yeah, not just mine, he's everyone's Grandpa. Don't you know I live on the same Island as he does." Luffy explained.

Ussop started sweating and hyperventilating, "Aaaaaa... What have I gotten myself into? Oh, I can't breathe. Chopper, I'm dying."

Zoro was instead excited, "Can I spar with him?"

Luffy got annoyed and yelled at them. "Ask him yourself when we meet him."

They all agreed to do that.

Alexander had understood the current condition of the kingdom and decided to do something about it.

Crocodile had somehow started a civil war in the kingdom for his selfish purposes. So Alexander first headed to meet the king.

Crocodile had won the hearts of the people through the use of public appearances as one of the Shichibukai, becoming a hero to the people by rounding up other pirates. This made it so that no one suspected that he was the mastermind behind everything.

Baroque Works secretly used Dance Powder to cause the capital city to have abnormally high amounts of rain. The people did not suspect a thing until it was noticed that other cities were getting below normal rainfall.

Then Baroque Works' agents officially brought Dance Powder into the country and when questioned, they said it was a delivery for the king.

Dance Powder was a green powder that was used to make artificial rain. It was a powder that brings both happiness and misery at the same time, because despite the rain it creates however the powder, unfortunately, causes long periods of drought in other countries.

The process in which the artificial rain is created nurtures clouds that aren't ready to rain yet. When this happens, all of the water contained within these clouds would all be used up. Because of this, other countries and locations, who would naturally benefit from rainfall when these clouds would naturally mature, would be greatly deprived.

Baroque Works assigned several of its members to join the royal guard to aid in smuggling Dance Powder into the palace. When the powder was found, this pushed the people into thinking their king was behind the lack of rain. By this time, the younger citizens of Yuba(Yuba was a small oasis town in Alabasta) were beginning to form ideas of rebellion.

Alexander and Dobby stood on the stairs of the huge palace, "I feel like I am in some Alladin movie."

Dobby nodded, "Yeah, and historically this palace is older than 4000 years. It's a wonder that it's even standing."

"Let's be civil and officially meet him." Alexander went to a guard.

"Kid, go in and tell whoever is in charge of visitors that Alexander has come to meet the King." He told some guard.

The guard stiffened seeing him and quickly ran away.

"Hahaha, you have not done anything to harm people yet and still they fear you like the plague," Dobby commented.

"Hah, they don't fear me but my background. Anyone would get nervous talking to the most wanted man in the world." Alexander answered.

"Ah, from this I remembered. The newspaper did polls yesterday. Hehe, you are again the most desirable grandpa in the world." Dobby said to annoy him.

"Dammit, not again." Alexander scratched his beard.

"But I am still better than you. I got a wife and so many kids. What about you? my virgin bachelor elf?" Alexander asked.

"Ah, I feel personally attacked, boss," Dobby muttered.

"Hahaha... that's what I aimed for." Alexander laughed and walked ahead.

It was again, Alexander 1 and Dobby 0.

Inside the royal palace, the King was just informed of Alexander's arrival and, as always, Alexander was given the V.I.P. treatment.

"You are welcome to Alabasta, Golden Justice Alexander" King Nefertari Cobra greeted him.

~Who keeps giving me these weird nicknames?~ Alexander thought.

"Ah, thank you for meeting me, King Cobra... I mean King of Alabasta" Alexander shook hands with him with a wry smile.

"Hahaha, just call me Cobra. People of your stature have this right. How can I help you now?" Cobra asked.

Alexander quickly checked the man's sins and they were in the 2nd category, rare for a monarch. Although the man had a badass name he wasn't strong at all.

"I have started to take over this side of the world. Sandy Island was just one of my destinations but then I saw all this trouble going on here. I have an offer, King Co... King." Alexander hinted.

"And what is this offer?" Cobra asked, he had seen lots of people bringing deals for him in the disguise of taking his throne. This time, though, Crocodile went ahead without even asking.

"Declare yourself an ally of the Golden Justice Army and become a part of the United Kingdom of the Seas. In return, I will deal with Crocodile and also open a big base for my army. You will also not have to pay Heavenly tribute as my UKS works from money earned from taxes. Each Kingdom aligned with us gives a small amount of income from taxes as its defense budget. In return, we will keep your shores and seas safe." He briefly explained.

Cobra rubbed his chin and thought for a second. "What about the World Government? They will immediately declare me a traitor."

He scoffed, "Huh, World Government is a thing of the past. The era of the Pirates is a thing of the past. This is the era of justice and happiness. Anything that will stand in the way will face me. So, what's going to be your answer?"

"Then I agree. Those at Mary Geoise are already considering us traitors for not joining them. But we need to keep this kingdom safe for the treasures it holds." Cobra interjected.

Alexander understood he was talking about the Poneglyph. "I would like to see that Poneglyph later. I will go and deal with Crocodile by then. See you later King Cobra."

~Damn it~

Luffy and his party were traveling through the desert to reach the capital.

"Haah... I'm hungry. I need food and water." Luffy complained with his tongue hanging out.

*SLURP*

Everyone heard that and looked back. Rina had a big bowl of ramen and Gali was drinking some cold drinks. Both were sitting on a hovering carpet.

They all just dumbfoundedly looked at them for a while.

Ussop was the first to shout. "What the hell guys, where did you get that food?"

Both Gali and Rina looked at them with their mouths full, "Ah, you also want some?"

Luffy jumped first and took water from Gali and drank it like no tomorrow.

*BAM*

Nami hit him on the head, "Luffy, you drank all of it. What will we drink now?"

Gali then put her arm in her bottomless pouch and took out dozens of more bottles. "Don't fight. I got enough for all of us."

Soon they all drank and ate. Rina made all of them sit on the flying carpet and they flew to the capital, while all of them felt confused as to why they didn't do this from the beginning.

Alexander came to the underground headquarters of Baroque Works and simply beat everyone.

Crocodile found out about their arrival and tried to run away. He got as far as the town's center. "Haha, you are too cowardly to be a shichibukai."

"It's more like a natural instinct right now." He replied while thinking of an exit strategy.

"There is no way out, sandman. You will surely die but how you die is still something that depends on you. Confess all your crime and you will get a quick death. Don't do that, and you will die slowly as I melt every particle of your sandy body." Alexander threatened him.

"GRANDPAAAA!"

Out of nowhere, Alexander heard the loud call and saw the fully packed flying carpet coming towards him. As always, Rina and Gali jumped for a hug.

But Crocodile thought it would be smart to hold one of them as a hostage and his choice was even worse because he picked Gali.

He held a knife against her throat, "Hahaha, oh how the tables have turned."

Luffy and the party quickly readied themselves for battle, Rina and Gali were members of their Strawhat pirates after all. As always, Robin announced who the opponent was and Ussop and Chopper cried.

"What is with my luck?" Ussop called out. But then his luck turned even worse when a lot of marines came running towards them with Smoker in the lead.
