How different-Kenly POV

Mum freaking out about a certain girl is my fate, I choose who I want to be, where I want to go, and who to be with. I'm Kenly, I don't know how different I am yet but very.

I ask myself what if the results were just fake? Mum told me and showed me the results when I started high school. I wonder how because I'm very good at expressing my emotions, and know when to play along and when not to.

"Genius or a Psychopath or maybe you ain't, you might just be a normal boy with a cool lifestyle" These are the words I would hear, I just say them to myself. Which more emotions do I require? I play basketball at the college I'm attending now.

The coach blew the whistle to instruct the players.

"What are you wasting your shit ass there, hey you get to the field, Now!!" The coach angrily instructed.

A young black guy, with dark twisted hair in shorts and a white shirt shouted"Hey pass the basketball to this side".

Crowds cheering out of the court, the ladies crushing out with noises, other guys were interested in the game not with the guys.

A piece of dramatic music plays, and he comes out of the shade as he's to change with a player.

"Go, Kenly! Go Kenly!" The crowd cheered.

I took the ball from the guy who attacked the other members… Goal!!!

"Let's call it a day. You guys are doing well!" the coach said, smiling suspiciously.

The young black guy approached me " Kenly, why did you take your time before changing players, you know you can't do that at the game. This is just training but you fucked up man".

"Robert, how different did it make? I came as I was too, I'm the captain not you" I angrily said.

Robert replied," Calm down man, that's not funny... Was just kidding with you, not anything serious".

Robert is my close friend, not just him, I understand he's a crazy black guy from Ghana but I have this other friend Max, an Australian gentleman. You know Robert, sometimes has to go to his country on holiday leaving Max and me.

"Hello guys, do we not have any lectures for today, gosh! The lecture room was empty" Max asked from afar.

Robert being the talkative said in Max's voice"If a class is empty what does it mean bro? It means no class, Neur!"

"Why not throw a party this weekend the freshers will be there, gonna invite the hot, sexy bitches to jam with us" Robert suggested.

I remained paralyzed, staring blankly ahead, I said to Max"Hey, Aussie guy, do you agree with this black guy!".

"Neur! Is this all you ever think of, I wonder how you behave this way. Honestly Kenly, can we sell this black guy off, you got me wondering how you've been friends with him since" Max said.

Robert smirked and said "Hey, hey, we've all been close since childhood, even when Ken got himself in that murder-, umm..sorry bro"

The sound of the pitter-patter of rain falling outside. The rain was almost too gentle for them to hear. I could hear the pounding rain approaching before I could see it.

Max hits my head saying "Silly, boys... Shouldn't you run to seek shelter"

We giggled along the way.

My house isn't that far from the college. I just take a bus within thirty minutes, boom that's me. I don't like talking naaa, just!

There's a lot I don't know and you don't.

"How different am I?"...

****************************************

Cooking utensils clashing from the kitchen, distant voices from the television downstairs.

Soft music playing, with the light bulbs all off only candles being lit.

I undressed and went to the bathtub, the water was still running and it was halfway full in those purifying waters. I got in, closed the faucet, and slowly submerged myself in the water. I heard music playing that was far different from mine. I closed my eyes in an attempt to calm my soul, but images of a past incident haunted my thoughts.

"Hey boy, how many hours are you going to spend in the bathroom?" a distant voice says. I was already lost in thought... I saw myself drowning, quickly I came back to myself, got out of the tub, and stood there with my body drenched in water, just naked in the dark. The light got turned on

"Holy shit, boy!'

"Mum, you should have knocked," I said in surprise when my mum saw my dick.

"Hell, no way. Put something on and come Downstairs, at least it's better you were not masturbating" my mom said and made her way out.

I got dressed for my late snack, and that is the time Mum likes to watch her favorite soap opera.

"Mum, better knock next time okay" I said.

She clears her throat and asks "Have you seen her yet?".

I feigned ignorance to the question each time but I was very pissed and replied "Mum, what if that bitch is dead, maybe she transgendered, or she's dead, how would she apply to my college. You don't even get in contact with her mum. What's her name?"

The tantrum was ongoing but as a mother, she was just watching me and smiling…

"It's nice to see you get angry, I don't know if you know what you're feeling now. Her name is Gramel… you'll know her when you see her, she was so small when you guys met. I know it's the glory of God son. As he said, he makes sure everyone gets his helper and he did, my boy. All you've to do is have patience. Hallelujah," she said.

She then went on "Boy, hurry up and take a nap the new students will be coming tomorrow right, you got to get more boys on the court you know. But remember Gramel is your fate, oh boy don't ever get soaked in the rain again, don't want any sick boy in my house".

"Mum, this is not a fantasy movie… gosh! Good night" I added, chuckling to my room.

"Oh boy, do you need any dick medicine? I didn't really like what I saw!" She shouted in the hallway.
