Grace opened her eyes taken aback, she tried to remember how she got here or where here was exactly but she couldn't remember anything, the last thing she remembered was having a bath with Victor and then going to sleep. She sat up wincing as her muscles protested, her head pounded and her mouth felt dry.

"Easy, tesoro," Victor said coming to her side

"Where are we?" She asked softly as she looked around

"On the plane," He said as his green eyes scanned her body making sure she wasn't injured

"How?" She asked confused

"The doctor gave me this," He said holding up a small glass bottle with a clear liquid inside "It's to help you sleep"

"Why?" She asked still confused

"Because you need rest," Victor said simply

"No" Grace shook her head "Why are we on a plane? Where are we going?"

"New York" Victor said, his emerald eyes not meeting hers.

"We're going to New York?" Grace asked softly

"No" Victor looked up at her, his eyes void of any emotion, he had his blank business look on, hiding all of his emotions behind it. "You're going to New York until this war is over"

"What?" Grace asked shocked "Why?" She shook her head as the reality of what Victor was saying sunk in.

"It'll be safer for you there, one of my men, Sergio, will protect you."

"No," Grace said standing up, Victor stood too surprised at her objection, normally when he gave her an order she obeyed without question. "No Victor, please I don't want to," She said as tears welled in her brown eyes.

"It's not about what you or I want Grace. It's the safest option" Victor said setting his jaw in a hard line indicating that this wasn't up for discussion.

"No, I refuse" She snapped that same fiery look in her eyes that Victor had loved to see so many times before.

"Grace, please don't make this harder than it needs to be" Victor sighed

"You promised me!" She snapped as tears fell on her rosy cheeks "You promised you wouldn't leave me" She cried

"It's not forever tesoro," Victor said pulling her into his arms, the sight of her crying was enough to break every inch of his heart

"No!" She pushed against his chest but he refused to let her go "Let me go!" She shouted fighting against his embrace

"I'm sorry tesoro," Victor said pulling out a syringe from his pocket.

Grace's eyes widened as she shook her head violently "No" She pleaded but it was too late, Victor gently stabbed the needle into her arm allowing the clear liquid to spread into her bloodstream as a sudden wave of dizziness overtook her senses "Why?" She asked softly before blackness enveloped her.
