Chapter 33: Father?

The blonde-haired woman slowly started to gain control over her body as she tried to sit upright. Seeing the girl struggle Dr.Veritas moved in to assist but was stopped by Arias putting his hand in front of her and shaking his head.

"We must all struggle before being successful, unnecessary assistance will merely make her weaker."

Dr.Veritas saw the logic in what he said and didn't push the matter further.

When the blonde-haired girl finally fully opened her eyes she saw a purple-haired woman wearing a smile and then she focused on a tall man with an expressionless face and cold grey eyes next to the woman. Her lips seemed to part on their own as she spoke in a faint voice while looking at the man.

"Father...?".

Hearing this Arias furrowed his brows a little before turning to Dr.Veritas who simply shrugged. As Arias was about to explain a voice he hadn't heard for what felt like ages resounded once more in his mental space.

'Please accept her.....she is the first creation that I've ever felt a bond towards and that is in a large part to you. She possesses qualities from both you and me, which on its own would be very dangerous but there is no such feeling in her heart. I only sense Love for you who she takes as her father and no one else.....'

As Àpeiro said in the last part she couldn't hide the sadness in her voice before carrying on.

'She is our first creation, I can assure you now she will only grow to be inferior to you and me'.

Arias after hearing her out finally spoke as well.

'It is not that I do not accept her I gladly would but am I fit to be a father? I will only fail your expectations Àpeiro...'

The voice went silent for a moment and spoke once more.

'I let you harness the purest of my energy because I wished for you to have someone with a part of me by your side till I form a body. Once I have a body my energy won't be as pure making her the only person worthy of truly calling herself our one true child.'

Arias looked at the blonde-haired girl who looked at him with eyes filled with worry as he had not answered her yet. He placed his hand on her cheek which had startled her initially but she soon laid her head into his palm and gazed at him silently as he finally responded to her question.

"Yes you're my one and only child"

She held onto his hand tightly with both of hers as she spoke in a sad tone.

"But I do not have a.....name".

Arias couldn't help but smile at the reason she seemed so sad.

"Nearítheà...Nearítheá Adriel".

Arias spoke softly as he began to take his hand away from her face much to her dissatisfaction.

Dr.Veritas showed a smug look on her face as she looked at Arias.

"Seems the mighty and heartless Arias finally has a soft spot huh. Nearítheá(young goddess )hmmm, a fitting name".

She then turned to Nearítheá and spoke in a soft tone.

"How do you feel dear any pain or feeling uncomfortable anywhere?".

She shook her head and stood from the operation table and stretched her body out before turning towards Dr.Veritas.

"You are...?"

She had lost her once terribly voice and spoke in a beautiful voice full of confidence.

She glanced back at Arias who stood behind checking for any change in his expression. Arias saw this and she immediately turned back to face Dr.Veritas with a serious expression. Arias could only raise his brow in curiosity.

'She seeks approval...'.

As he thought this another voice resounded in his mind.

'Seems she's in capable hands, please look after her or expect a lecture from me when I gain a body...I just hope you accept what I become after...'

After saying those words the voice faded and Arias couldn't sense any presence anymore. He could only furrow his brows and wonder what she meant.

"Aww look at her trying to be like her father, all calm and serious".

Dr.Veritas couldn't help but tease Nearítheá.

"You can think of me as an Auntie I deserve as much considering how long I had to stare at your nude little body grow till you became the woman you are now."

Hearing this Nearítheá blushed slightly and hmphed. Arias came behind her and put his hand on her shoulder.

"Enough. You have nothing to prove...at least not to her".

Dr.Veritas simply shrugged and looked towards Arias and the girl.

"Try not to train her too hard it's better she starts slowly with me and Harley, and finally you alright Ari?".

Before Arias could respond Nearítheá spoke first while looking at Arias with a face full of energy

"I can handle it! Please train me Father..".

Her voice was full of energy as she looked up at her father. Arias could only pat her head with a small smile on his face before showing a puzzled look to Dr.Veritas to which she simply shrugged.

"Also you may want to ask Harley what program she added during her knowledge instillation"

Arias ignored the matter for now then walked over to Shay and straightened her disheveled hair then while showing her a small smile, before he could speak she sighed and spoke first.

"Yes Yes I know I shouldn't overwork myself".

Arias tilted his head while raising his brow.

"Well that and thanks for an amazing job done as always, rest well"

He kissed her forehead and finished straightening her hair.

As he turned to Nearítheá he paused for a moment, She stood there casually but...with disheveled hair. Arias sighed inwardly and walked towards her but only patted her head

"Let's Go".

Nearítheá could only pout and follow Arias while straightening her hair on her own.

As soon as he stood outside the lab he began to rise from the ground.

"Try and keep up"

He said casually before flying away at a crazy speed. Nearítheá didn't even hesitate before rising and following behind.

Arias looked behind and saw her flying naturally.

'looks like those extra days of learning paid off'.

The two flew out of New Haven Island and then begun to Ascend. Arias would occasionally stop to check on Nearítheá's progress but it always seemed he didn't need to as she managed to keep up still.

So he continued to increase his speed at intervals. It didn't take long for the pair to reach outer space, Arias continued to fly at high speed avoiding even the smallest space debris, he did this to test how well Nearítheá could maneuver at high speed.

After satisfying his curiosity Arias stopped in the middle of nowhere. When Nearítheá caught up to him, He simply nodded then put his hand on her head and made her face the sun.

"How do you feel?".

Nearítheá only now noticed the constant flow of energy rushing into her, making her feel an amazing tingling sensation all around her body. She looked at Arias with a huge smile on her face.

"I feel...invincible...is that correct Father?".

Arias smiled at her answer and looked at the sun.

"This is only a small part of what awaits you, in time what you're feeling will turn into reality provided you put in the work".

Nearítheá turned and looked at the man next to her for a moment before looking back at the sun.

"I will father..."

"I'll make you proud".
