98. Fight
The week of wait has finally ended and today's the day of Regime's attack.
Alex was looking forward to it. He had done a lot in this month to strengthen his chances against the heavy hitters.
He was able to control the defensive range of Avalon somewhat and could warp it on his finger only and nothing else for the moment but this gave him confidence.
He was at least thinking on a correct route and could probably fully develop this power before long.
'At least I know what to do in the future'. Alex thought and shook his head to focus on the current situation in front of him.
"We've gotten to know that what Alexander said really happened. They took the whole Yellow Lantern Corps to raid the Joker Clan". Lex said while showing some pictures on the table.
"There are at least twenty Yellow Lanterns in this group along with Sinestro and others". Lex pointed towards the pictures and continued.
"The rest of us will be going for the Regime Headquarters while you Five will go for the Joker Clan.
Even if you don't win. You just have to hold them back for the time being". Lex said and looked at the Five people who were going to act separately.
"Don't worry, I will make sure that they stay there for long". Alex said while nodding his head.
"That will be for the best". Lex nodded his head in agreement.
"We will leave in an hour". Bruce said and stood up from the sofa.
He was always wearing his Batman attire and it could get confusing between the two batman in the base.
They were both carbon copies. Always scrutinising people at every turn of the way.
Only saving grace is that the Batman of this reality is older than the Batman from Earth Prime.
"Let's go make our preparations". Alex said and went towards his room with Zatanna.
"You seem a bit tense". Zatanna asked when both of them were inside Alex's room.
"I just have a feeing that this will not be as simple as we think it is". Alex shook his head and looked towards her seriously.
"Maybe I can try to Foreshadow". Zatanna said and prepared ti use her magic.
"Don't, If it is the person I think it is then you will get a severe backlash". Alex quickly stopped her before she did anything stupid.
Zatanna nodded her head and didn't try to think about doing it again.
"Okay, go and prepare. We are leaving on time". Alex waved his hand to dismiss her and stressed the words on time.
Zatanna nodded and quickly left the room to prepare for the battle ahead.
In an hour, everyone was prepared and ready to take action.
Catwoman would stay in the base along with Barbaras from both universes to give support on the situation.
The two of them were good at background support and Hancock was also left in the base for just in case situations.
Everything was prepared and all of them set off for the showdown.
They quickly arrived at the Joker Clan and took positions to surround the enemy before they are hit.
In about two hours after they reached the Joker Clan. People started to pour in like tides.
Atlantis fleets, Yellow Lantern Corps along with Sinestro and Hal Jordan. Superman also came with other grunts from The Regime. Cyborg was in the back row and analysing the whole situation.
"So you have summoned heroes from an alternate Universe". Superman said and scanned the whole base with his X-ray vision.
"Yeah, neat isn't it?" Alex smiled cheekily with a smug face.
He flew over to them and folded his hands in front of his chest.
"Who are you?" Supes squinted his eyes and looked at Alex.
"You know, this line is getting more and more annoying". Alex tilted his head left and right while taunting Superman.
"I know your story. You are doing all this because Joker killed Lois right?" As soon as Alex said this.
Superman sped off at him and punched him with all his strength.
His fist tore through the air and created Sonic booms in its wake. His face was distorted with anger.
Alex equipped Gold Experience and caught his punch with his palm.
Half of his body was gone instantly as soon as the fist connected to Alex's palm but the next second. All of it regrew back to how it was.
"Surprise MotherFucker". Alex shouted and punched Superman's face with all his strength.
Superman was sent flying back from the punch. Alex broken arm was also healed back shortly.
Alex had used Spirit Force to bypass Superman's biological forcefield that he as on his body and damaged his internals.
Superman shook his head and hurled himself back at Alex.
"Little Crybaby, listen to me first before you start punching away". Alex said and took him inside Avalon.
Zatanna didn't even get her chance to confront him and he was taken away by Alex.
"Now, you should feel weaker right and We can also talk better". Alex said and looked at Superman playfully.
"I heard that after Lois' death. You killed Joker and everyone associated with him except Harley. Although she didn't take part in it anyway". Alex said seriously this time.
"What are you getting at?" Superman asked and scrutinised Alex.
"If you had your revenge then why go on this mad killing spree?" Alex asked while looking into his eyes.
"To rid this world from injustice and crime". Superman generously opened arms to both sides and said in a majestic voice.
"I can understand your motives but unfortunately family comes first". Alex said and just left Superman inside Avalon.
He had isolated Lobo in a different area and no one could it without his consent.
Alex came out but he found out that he couldn't put Superman inside Avalon like this and he came out with him.
'Guess it doesn't work like this'. Alex mused to himself and readied himself for further combat.
'This is going to be a long day'. Alex thought to himself and looked at Superman.
