Chapter 37

You quickly strode down the hall to the first door you seen then you grabbed the knob and jerked the door open.

When you stormed inside you seen that you were inside some kind of foyer.

There was a wooden desk to your right and vases filled with white flowers scattered about. "Wow this is beautiful."

"Why thank you, I designed myself many years ago."

The voice startled you so as you turned to the direction of the voice you expected to see Jisung but instead stood a different man. He then strode over to the desk and sat down all while still looking at you curiously.

"It's been a long time since I've seen a new face."

You looked behind you hoping Jisung would come soon. ~Agh when will Jisung get here.~

You then looked back at the man, "H-hi"

He then showed a slight smile, "Hi, so if I may ask. How exactly did you get down here?"

"I-I came down here with Jisun-... I mean, The Guardian of the Two Gates."

He nodded, "I believe I understand what's going on here. You died and you want to come back, don't you?"

You nodded back, "Yes."

He hummed in thought, "I see. Well since it has been so long since I've seen someone and especially someone as pretty as you, how about I make you a deal."

Suddenly Jisung ran into the room and stood in front of you, "No! You can't trust any deal from this creep!"

You stared at Jisung, thinking of words to say. "This is my journey." You finally let out. The words stabbed Jisung in the heart as he had thought and said them many times before.

You turned back to the man, "What kind of a deal." You ask, ready for him to say something about taking your soul and whatnot.

Instead he said, "I will bring you back to life and send you back to your loved ones."

Your eyes went wide in shock and so did Jisungs. This was to good to be true. So what's the catch.

"What the catch?" You ask.

"Why does there have to be a catch?" He said still smiling.

"There's always a catch. Now tell me what it is so we can all be on our way."

He chuckled to himself. You sure were feisty, he thought. And he liked it... a lot. Normally minor gods such as her that talked to him like this received severe punishment.

"Okay, okay. There is a catch."

You rolled your eyes in annoyance.

"All you have to do is come back down and see me once in a while."

"Excuse me?"

He nodded, "With your new powers given by me you'll be able to connect to me wherever I am."

"You know I have four kids and I'm about to get married."

He shook his head, "I'm not talking about anything weird. You're just the first person to actually make it down here so what's the harm in me wanting to see you use your powers from time to time. And it gets so lonely down here when all I have to look at are all the other demons."

You looked over at Jisung and he was looking at him suspiciously so you looked back at the man and you seen he was growing impatient. "I'll even throw in a few bonuses." He quipped.

You raised an eyebrow in confusion, "What bonuses?"

"You'll never make it back home in time, trust me. Plus do you really want to see all those things over again? I will simply snap you back to the entrance." He said clearly happy with his offer, sure that you would say yes to the deal.

This deal was a nice one. You knew he had something up his sleeve, after all he was some kind of demon. But you couldn't find a hole in his deal.

Taking one last glance at Jisung you say, "Release him."

Caught by surprise they all looked at you surprised.

"W-what?" The man asked.

Finding the little courage you have left you square up on him, balling your fists, and your voice becoming more confident. "I said release him. You really don't expect me to believe that he chose to spend the rest of eternity guiding random idiots into the pits of hell. He's trapped here, isn't he?"

They both now stared at you amazed.

Jisung found that incredibly kind of you. You could've just took the deal as it was, it was a good deal, if there was such a thing. But instead you wanted to help him.

The man looked at you and Jisung and said between gritted teeth, "Fine."

Walking past Jisung the man finally approached you.

He then looked down at you while taking a hand out of his pocket and extended it towards you for a handshake. "Now do we have a deal?"

You hesitantly reach for it noticing his smile. But you then clasped your hand around his, shaking it. "We have a deal."
