44 Gaming world domination

After the party I had a little talk with mother. Nothing big really. She just wanted me to know about the situation with Rias. To resume, she refused to acknowledge Riser as her future husband. Apparently during the meeting they all had together she 'realized' his true character and decided he was as worthy of her as a bug shit. So yeah, the talk went bad.

Furthermore, it seems that Brother tried to meddle by defending Rias, offending Father and lord Phenex in the process. What a blind sis-con.

It resulted in nothing concrete aside the fact I would see more of Riser in our home in the near future. It was indeed decided that he would visit sometimes in the hope of making bonds between them. A bit too late in my opinion, but no one cares about my opinion in this house.

Since we were now after my birthday party, my punishment was over, and I could now do whatever a young devil does again.

Thus I decided to mentioned to my family that during their 'talk', I managed to land some commissions for magical paintings. My father was not really happy since I had done this behind his back, but he couldn't really ban me from doing it or it would reflect poorly on our family. Proving once again I was too independent for his taste.

I also decided to look for a new project to occupy me when I was at home.

It took me a few days, but I decided I wanted to go into virtual reality.

Where did that come from you may ask ? It's because I had a plan. A very very big plan. And I realized that becoming the pioneer of virtual reality gaming would help a lot.

The technology in itself wasn't really hard to invent for me. The problem would be to create an extremely powerful and resilient server that would allow potentially billions to be connected together.

Why such a need ? I wanted for every humans and supernatural to be able to be connected at the same time on my future game. And I would create only ONE game, a VRMMORPG called 'Hidden world'.

So for the server the be able to sustain that much, there was only one thing that would do, I would need some scales from the great red, the dragon of dream, the strongest entity in the world of DxD.

Why not go purely for the technological way ? Simple, Magic will be included to make the game looks more realistic, and technology has a big limit, physical size. If I want to create a virtual reality helmet and not a pod, I would have to use magic. Stories like 'Sword art online' are simply not possible using just a single helmet.

So for now, I would go a bit lower and just use some of a sandman's sand. The sandmans are a group of mystical beings that roam the world at night sitting on a cloud, throwing sand over residence to make people inside sleep, even insomniacs. No one know why they do it, they just do. the only thing we do know is that you can't intercept said sand, but it can be traded. The reason to get this sand is that it can prevent nightmares and gives a high chance of having happy dreams.

Since it's property is closely related to dream, and sand can be modify easily to create technological pieces, it would be ideal to create my future helmets, and would do for my first server.

Knowing this, I decided to send Celina to find a sandman and trade as much sand as she could. But whatever happens, she must do it without being recognized. I even gave a another piece of jewellery that would hide her identity. I still told her to use physical and magical means to further hide.

Why the paranoia ? Because my company would be named 'Red Troll's Dream', and would be in charge of selling the helmets and the games. As for the production ? It would be handle by me via some golems.

Since I wanted to taunt Azazel and Ajuka this much, I needed to be sure that nothing so easy would be traced back to me.

On the same subject, I asked Celina to buy a small game company under her real name (after all, I never gave Celina's name to anyone, I just told my family she didn't have a last name, and I don't think anyone would be able to recognize her in her old photos). I considered it a hint for the two genius. Whether they would capitalize on it or not is not my problem.

There was no urgency of course, I first needed to create the hardware, then the OS and programming language, and finally, the game. I wanted to optimize everything and include magic from the very start. I intended for it to become the base of magical programming.

This was a very long term project, so I insisted there was no hurry, thought I did want at least a bit of sand pretty quickly, which she got simply in the market.

With that new project, my next month became full.

I would meet various lords of 'respected' houses that had booked a living painting, visit some of the young devils with whom I had started a budding friendship (Sona, Sairaorg, and Seekvaira), work on my project, taunt Azazel and Ajuka, harass heaven by keeping them on edge by spying of them with Tom, and having some family time with Celina and mother.

Oh, and watching the drama each time Riser would visit (more and more to his displeasure, and less and less frequently). It was just too fun seeing Rias belittle and antagonize him more and more without reason (he's too blond ? Really ? And how can you say his face screams that he's a wanna be rapist ? Please remember that he looks a lot like his father OK ? You know, the super politically powerful and rich lord Phenex ?).

Of course, as a good brother I sided with Riser, since the engagement was for her own good after all. She just hadn't realized it yet.
