Chariots and Bones

Sebastian wiped the blood from his spear's bone blade and took a moment to admire his handiwork on the ground.

The Ironhide Bruiser lay without life at his feet. A grin spread across his face as he looked at the creature.

That had been for him no more than a chore for him, something simple, yet it was rewarding.

"Let's get this done."

The Rune master took a step back and, drawing a deep breath, focused his mind and channeled his mana.

"Tharun," he said.

A dim blue glow emanated from the fallen Bruiser, spreading across its massive body.

Sebastian could feel the flow of mana leaving his body and pouring into the creature's corpse, infusing it with new life. Of course, if it could be defined as a new one.

The bruiser's flesh started to move and squirm, as though a swarm of invisible insects were tunneling underneath its surface.

And then, with a crackle, the skin broke open, showing bits of bone.
