It was at that moment Nemesis who had been dormant until now spoke.
[Master, let me analyze it first.] Nemesis suggested and Dante was not about to refuse this offer because he would have suggested the same thing if she hadn't made this suggestion.
'Go ahead.' He said before breaking the gray stone.
Crack!
Immediately, following his action, a light came out from the broken stone and entered his brain.
Ding!
[Nemesis's system is reading through the 'Records' contained in the broken stone after successfully confirming that there was no hidden mechanism inside the skill's stone.]
[The system level is too low. The number of records that can be read is restricted.]
[Part of Awakener ******** was successfully inherited.]
[Skill "Spearmanship of ******* Lv3" has been acquired.]
A series of notifications from Nemesis rang out before a message window appeared.
And then,
"Agh!"
Hot.
The pain of scorching hot iron skewers pierced Dante's skull.
Alongside this dizzy and intense pain, the scenery changed.
Inside his head spread an unfamiliar scene.
In a space with no one around, the appearance of a man in his middle twenties endlessly jabbing out his spear could be seen.
''Argh!''
Even though this man was shaking as if he would collapse at any moment, he didn't stop swinging his spear.
''If I stop here… I'll never be able to catch up to him nor I can save anyone.''
Roughly chewing his dry lips, the man continued to swing his spear.
Over and over again.
He pushed himself to the limit.
'…This is?'
Dante's vision gradually returned to normal.
''The owner of this skill's memories I guess.'' He concluded a pretty accurate guess.
Shaking his head he let his body assimilate all information before picking up a normal spear and the moment he did his body moved naturally, as though he had been handling the spear for years.
[The skill level will increase the more you use it and familiarize yourself with it. I will go back into a dormant state as she is coming already.]
Nemesis announced before going into sleep mode.
Right after that Cecilia appeared and observed Dante's body before nodding in satisfaction.
''It seems that it is a skill that perfectly suit you judging by how fast you grasped the essence of the spear. I bet your level should be around Lv2 or Lv3.'' She speculated but Dante didn't deny nor acknowledged this speculation which made Cecilia let out a chuckle.
''I want to ask if there is somewhere I-" Dante who was trying to use her hadn't finished talking before she snapped her fingers and they appeared in what seemed to be a forest.
This forest was endless, radiant, and diverse. Its canopy was claimed by hazel, birch, and willow, their leaves, and branches allowed for just enough light to pass down for vibrant saplings to dominate the fertile soils below.
Quiet tree limbs embraced every tree, and a variety of flowers, which clung to any space they could find, stood out against the otherwise unchanging forest floor.
A variation of wild noises, most belonged to prowling animals, reverberated through the air, and drowned out the barrage of noise coming from a waterfall in the distance.
''I would have suggested testing you even without you saying anything. I will be watching you, so better not disappoint me, or who knows what I might do.'' Cecilia's eyes were smiling when said those words but Dante knew she was surely not joking, he didn't have any desire to find out what she might do, he just has to do what he came here for, testing his skills after acquiring two elements, to let his body to be familiarized with his new power.
Suddenly, rustling sounds were coming from behind the bush and soon several odd looking ants appeared, their height is around 2 meters, with the biggest ones being almost 3 meters tall. These monsters are called Ant-horns, low-level mobs but they can be deadly if you faced too many of them at a low level.
Currently, around 15 to 20 Ant-horns appeared but Dante did not show any fear. He calmly observed the surroundings.
Grrrrr—
Ferocious growls.
The Ant-horn was staring at Cecilia with eyes full of wariness. They could feel their instincts warning them not to mess with this woman as such they could only direct their anger on the weakest Dante.
Grrrr-
They growled at him and Dante raised the spear that had been brought while being teleported to the testing ground.
The spear's blade glowed with a blue hue and started to head toward the monsters. Proof that his spear was coated with mana.
"GGrrrrrrr!!"
As Dante aimed his spear toward the Ant-horns, they fiercely howled out.
Two Ant Horns approached him at a fast speed.
''Ahh!"
Lowering his stance, he stabbed his spear out like a spring.
Crack!
The shell of the Ant-horn which is sturdy and no ordinary weapon or low-level awakener could easily pierce was easily destroyed by Dante's spear, splattering out green blood.
One thrust one kill, he could feel the dead Ant-horn's soul power entering his body, converting into an exp to strengthen him.
Meanwhile,
"Krr!"
The Ant-horn from the opposite side tried to aim for the gap that was created.
Dante moved his body back naturally, as if he were water, and used the spear's shaft to uppercut its chin.
Spin!
Easily rotating the spear that reached two meters, he pierced through the Ant-horn's belly.
''Huh! not bad.''
The Black Witch Cecilia spoke out shortly after seeing him move with no unnecessary movements.
Two shots two kills. Ant-horn might have been some low-level monster but killing them so effortlessly shouldn't be something a low-level 1 awakener could do even if you have an element. Only the exceptional one can do it. Cecilia was sure that Dante had not shown everything yet and she couldn't wait to see more.
Looking at their fallen comrades, the remaining Ant-horns became furious and let out ferocious growls as they must make him pay for what he did.
''Gggrrrrrrr!!"
"Aahhhhhh!!"
