Darkness

Blood splattered on the ground, but Sid felt nothing. He slowly opened his eyes, and his heart pounding with fear and confusion.

As he looked around, he saw Evangeline standing before him, shielding him from Edward's brutal attack. Her face was set in a grimace of pain, but she refused to back down.

It was clear that she was willing to risk everything to protect him, and Sid felt ashamed for being so weak.

"What are you doing whore" Edward yelled, he was trying to pull out his swords from her chest but she refused to budge.

"I won't let you kill someone I cared about again " Evangeline spoke with resolution.

"I never... wanted... to marry Eric, but your family force us to that engagement " She spoke with a weak voice, clearly hurting from the wounds in her chest.

As Sid watched her protect him with her life, he felt a sense of guilt for doubting her words. He didn't want her to die for him, but he was too weak to protect himself, let alone anyone else.

Edward tried to pull his sword out of her chest, his face twisted with rage and determination. But just as he began to tug at the blade, a mysterious figure suddenly appeared, clad in a black jacket and a hood that concealed his features.

For a moment, the air was thick with tension. Sid could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he watched the stranger approach, his footsteps slow and deliberate. Edward hesitated, his grip on the sword faltering as he looked up to face the newcomer.

The stranger said nothing, but his red eyes burned with a fierce intensity that made Edward's blood run cold. He moved with fluid grace, like a panther stalking its prey, and Edward couldn't help but feel a sense of terror as he watched him.

Finally, the stranger reached out and placed his hand on Edward's shoulder, his voice low and dangerous.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," the man said calmly.

"And who the hell are you?" Edward demanded, his voice laced with defiance and bravado. He tried to act tough, to project an air of confidence in the face of his unknown adversary.

"I am no one," the man said, his eyes glowing in the darkness. "I simply hide in the shadows, observing "

"You talk too much," Edward growled, he pull out his sword and tried to attack the mysterious man.

The man merely smiled, and with a flick of his wrist, sent a blast of energy hurtling toward Edward.

Edward managed to block the strike with his sword, but the force of the impact was so strong that it sent him flying backward. Sid could see the strain on Edward's face as he struggled to maintain his footing, his muscles bulging with effort as he fought to keep his balance.

As Edward got back on his feet, he realized that the mysterious man had disappeared. He scanned the area, but the man was nowhere to be seen.

"Show yourself you coward!" Edward yelled in anger.

"Your arrogance will be your downfall," the man said before appearing in front of him.

Edward was caught off guard again and stumbled backward to dodge. When he regained his balance, the man was already standing behind him, his hand glowing with otherworldly energy.

"You should learn to control your emotions," the man said with a calm and measured tone as he unleashed his power once more. In an instant, the force of his punch sent Edward hurtling across the room, his body slamming into a nearby wall with a sickening thud.

Sid could see the pain etched on Edward's face as he struggled to stand up, his muscles quivering with effort. It was clear that the strength and endurance of a 2-Star knight could not be underestimated, even in the face of such a powerful foe.

"Damn you!" Edward roared and dashed forward with all his power, focusing on his sword.

But the mysterious man simply sneered and parried Edward's strongest attack with ease, his movements quick and fluid. He effortlessly sidestepped Edward's attack and delivered a powerful kick to his stomach, sending him flying backward.

CRASH!!!!

Sid could hear the sound of Edward's body hitting the ground with a bang, the force of the impact sending dust and debris flying in all directions.

"You bastard! The Summer family will hunt you down! You will have nowhere to run!" Edward spat, struggling to catch his breath.

"Run?"

"Run where?

"And why?" The mysterious man chuckled as intricate magic lines extended from his body, enveloping the entire place with pulsating energy. It was as if the lines were a natural extension of himself, as he exuded an aura of power.

"Materialization! You're a Grand Knight!" Edward was taken aback. This type of power was beyond his understanding.

"Who... are you..." Edward's voice trailed off, his eyes wide with fear and confusion.

The mysterious man shook his head, a glint in his eye that sent shivers down Edward's spine

"I" The mysterious man began speaking but Edward did not hear his next words. Instead, his world was consumed by the sound of his own neck leaving his body with a bone-chilling snap.

For a moment, he was suspended in time, his body frozen in mid-air, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief. He couldn't feel anything, couldn't hear anything except the sound of his own demise.

And then, everything went black.

Thud.

As Edward's lifeless body hit the ground, the mysterious man turned his attention to Sid and Evangeline. The air crackled with electricity as he raised his hand, summoning a powerful surge of energy.

Sid felt a surge of fear, but he refused to back down.

"I won't let you hurt her!" he shouted, gripping his sword tightly.

"Dont worry, I won't hurt her " The mysterious man approached Evangeline and placed his hands on her wounds. A warm glow emanated from his hands as he began to heal her injuries.

Sid couldn't believe what was happening. Who was this mysterious man who just saved them? And why did he seem to have such incredible power beyond his understanding?

As he finished healing her wounds, he turned to Sid. "I will rescue her father as payment for his help before. You dont have to interfere anymore " he said in a deep and commanding voice.

Sid was taken aback. He had no idea what this mysterious person was talking about, but he couldn't deny the gratitude he felt toward him for saving them.

"Who are you?" Sid asked, his voice trembling with awe.

The mysterious man paused for a moment before answering.

"I am no one," he said, his eyes glowing.

"I simply hide in the shadows, observing "

With those words, the mysterious man vanished into the night, leaving behind only a trail of purple energy and a sense of awe and wonder in the hearts of all who witnessed his incredible power.
