The mysterious man descended gracefully from the sky and landed on top of the clock tower, his black jacket and hood concealing his identity. From his vantage point, he surveyed the sprawling city before him, and a wicked grin spread across his face.
"Is everything prepared?" he asked in a deep, ominous voice.
A woman knelt before him, her long blonde hair flowing behind her like a river of gold. She was an elf, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to see through the very soul.
"Everything is ready, Lord Darkness," she replied, bowing her head in respect.
"Good job, Ena," he said with a nod. "This place is more interesting than I expected."
Ena's curiosity was piqued. She was aware of his immense power, but she had never seen him so excited before.
"What do you mean, my lord? How can an underdeveloped and cursed continent like this have something that can interest you?" she asked, unable to hide her intrigue.
There was a brief pause before he replied cryptically,
"I have found someone that can be the light of this world. He's still a rough diamond, but he would become someone truly powerful someday."
She was shocked. Her lord had been searching for someone worthy enough to be his rival for years, but he was always too strong for any opponent he faced. Now, he had finally found an individual worthy of recognition. She couldn't help but wonder how powerful this individual must be.
She had witnessed her lord kill a dragon with a single punch, create a tsunami with his mere presence, and even destroy a city with a single slash of his sword. She had thought that her lord was the most powerful being in the world, but now he was suggesting otherwise.
Darkness caught the look on Ena's face and smiled confidently at her.
"Fear not," he said, rising to his feet. He let the winds blow his hood back, revealing his face for the first time.
His dark hair was reminiscent of Sid's, but his eyes blazed like crimson fire. He appeared to be no older than seventeen but already exuded confidence and power that was unimaginable.
"I promise you, I will never lose."
"Now, It's time to attack!" he said coldly.
"Make the Summer family suffer the wrath of the Dark Sanctuary."
As he spoke, multiple soldiers wearing black cloaks appeared on top of the tower. Their faces were shrouded in darkness, their eyes glinting with fierce gleam.
The army was comprised of women warriors, their lithe bodies allowing them to easily move and jump from rooftop to rooftop like feathers floating in the wind. They moved quickly and silently, their movements calculated and precise. It was as if they were dancing through the air.
As they approached the Summer Family household, they slowed down their movements and began to communicate in hushed whispers. The building was heavily guarded, but they were well-trained and prepared for any situation.
One of the soldiers, a young woman with black hair and piercing green eyes, signaled for them to stop. She carefully peeked over the roof's edge and saw four guards patrolling the area below.
She signaled to the others, and they quickly moved into position. With a swift and coordinated attack, they took down the guards without making a sound.
They then began to make their way inside the building, taking out any guard that crossed their path. The sound of their blades slicing through flesh was the only sound that could be heard as they moved deeper.
Finally, they reached the Summer Family's inner sanctum, where the family members were gathered in fear. The leader of the army, a woman with fierce eyes and a determined expression, stepped forward. It was Ena.
"You have brought this upon yourselves," she said in a cold voice. "Your family has been involved in too many crimes, and now you will face the consequences."
The room fell silent as everyone within it became quiet, afraid to speak out against the hooded attackers.
But the silence was broken by the sound of footsteps as Edwin Summer, a Master Knight advanced through the dimly lit room. His silver armor glinted in the faint light as he held his greatsword.
"Who are you, people?" he demanded to know.
"You're not worthy to know our name," replied Ena with a cold voice.
"An elf? How did you enter this continent? This place is protected by the Eldritch Law:. You are not supposed to be here," Edwin spoke, revealing a knowledge that only a few people knew.
"The Eldritch Law:?"Ena sneered.
"Our Lord Darkness is someone who is above all law!" Her confident and devoted tone sent shivers down Edwin's spine.
"Lord Darkness?" Edwin was puzzled. He knew about the other continents, but his access to this particular knowledge was limited as he was only a 1-star Master Knight.
"You don't have to think, someone like you will be dead anyway," said Ena, her arrogance on full display.
Edwin gritted his teeth, becoming vigilant. He had heard stories that the people from other continents were more powerful.
"It's time to die," her cold voice resounded as she initiated the first strike, her speed so fast that she closed the distance between them within seconds.
"I won't let you kill me that easy " He yelled in anger as he prepare to counter her attack. With lightning-fast reflexes, he swung his greatsword with all his might, the blade gleaming in the dim light of the room.
The clash was thunderous as their blades met, sparks flying from the impact. The force of their collision sent shockwaves through the room, knocking over nearby furniture and shattering windows. The sound of their swords ringing filled the air as they exchanged blows, each strike more fierce and powerful than the last.
However, the tide of the battle began to shift when she began dodging instead.
She moved like a graceful dancer, her movements fluid and effortless as she toyed with him. She danced around his strikes with ease, her slender frame almost impossible to touch.
He was breathing heavily, his greatsword feeling heavier with each passing moment. He had never faced an opponent as fast and agile as Ena before. It was as if she was reading his every move before he even made it.
But he refused to give up. He had to protect his family, his people, and his home. He dug deep, mustering all his strength and skill to strike back at her with everything he had.
But even as he unleashed his strongest attacks, she merely dodged or parried them with ease. She seemed to be holding back as if she was simply playing with him.
"Is that all you've got?" Ena's voice was mocking, and it only served to fuel his determination to win.

Author's Note :
Eldritch Law: It's a magical law that made this continent isolated from the rest of the world. It was also the reason why this place lacks magical resources and was a very backward place.
PS:
This is not a filler chapter. Darkness and the Dark Sanctuary have a big role in this novel in the future so I'm establishing their origin.
You might think that it has some similarities with a famous anime but the characters are completely unrelated. If you read anything that bears similarities to that anime, it's just your imagination.
