First Real Fight

There are five goblins in view all of them are surrounding a small snake like creature, except instead of scales it has gray fur, and a head like that of a wolf. The goblins five are ganging up on it. Looking at the wolf snake thing I get a similar feeling, much like the one I got from Liv, could it be that I can bless this wolf snake. Now's a great time to test the weapons I made a Double Headed Spear Rank E, a dozen Throwing Daggers Rank F, a Knife Rank E, and some simple Hide Outfit Rank F. With living armor I can activate my magic when someone touches it, also it's not too bad defensive wise I think. At this moment the goblins start kicking and hitting the wolf snake with their clubs. The wolf snake cries out in pain, its struggle useless against the merciless goblins. At the sight of this I didn't think I'd care all that much, but I want to kill these stupid goblins. I'm going to kill all of you.

"Mana Shot, Earth."

Stopping one goblin I jump down and smash his petrified body with my spear. I then lunge the spear at the closest goblin. My spear goes cleanly through the goblin and after the goblin at the end of my spear dies I take out two daggers and though them at the next two.

"Mana Reach, Death."

The two daggers themselves don't deal any fatal damage, but thankfully they hit and both goblins fall over dead on the ground. I grip my hand around the neck of the last one.

"Mana Touch, Fire."

After tossing the flaming goblin corpse to the side I go over to the wolf snake. It's out cold.

'Hmm if I'm going to bless it I'll need to give it a name, best to still keep it simple. Since it's a combination of a wolf and a snake, how about Wake.

"Mana Touch, Light. With my powers as God of Living I bless thee, Wake."

"Sensei race and title please."

'It's race is as it says a growth demon, any non class bearing race that is blessed by a god will become a variant race instead. The original race was that of a demon, although the weakest demon there is. The title is given to any non humanoid race that you bless, called a divine. Divines are a almost always the personal pet of gods and usually stay with them.'

"Okay. Hey when I was casting magic on Wake and that last goblin I felt another mana source inside of them, what was that?"

'That must have been the mana stones inside of them, you see demons and monsters, which are what the goblins are, are born with an sort of organ called a mana stone. These stones are used as a blueprint for magic and come in all types of mana not just null. This allows them to cast magic with very easily and other than mana type they can change the other properties of the magic.'

"So I can change the type of mana within this stone without killing the creature."

'Yes.'

I put my hand back on Wake and focus on her mana stone.

"Mana Change, Light."

Wake's fur shines and turns a beautiful white.

I bring her and all the goblin corpses into my divine room, then start dismantling the goblins. These goblins don't deserve the same respect as the deer I hunted so their useless bits can be tossed out of my divine room. I'm left with five null mana stones and their meat. As I'm roasting the meat Wake finally wakes up. Eh get it Wake wakes up, no not that funny fine be that way.

"Hey Wake you want some."

*wan*

So cute, I toss over some goblin meat. After finishing our meal I was taking a look at the mana stones thinking what I could do to them. Wake came up onto my lap and starts looking at the mana stones.

"Hey can she eat these?"

'Yes, I recommend changing them into her mana stone's type first though.'

"Mana Change, Light. Here eat this."

*wan*

She looks so happy when eating that. I wonder if they taste good.

"Mana Change, Light. Down the hatch."

It tastes like a mint.

"Sensei what just happened, and my beautiful black hair where did it go why is it white now?"

'I can't believe you actually ate that. Well if a creature without a mana stone eats one the mana inside of it kills them, however you can't die here so that happened instead. Congratulations on becoming a new non class bearing race. That title makes it so all of your kids and those who ingest your blood become that race kinda like a pure blooded vampire. I'm supersized you care more about your hair than the fact you almost died, your hair will match your mana type so because you ate a light mana stone white hair.'

"Well I never had a class in the first place so it's not that bad I guess."

'It's better than not bad it's great as now you can level up where as a class bearing race must have a class to level up.'

"Now's the time for a quick test. Wake come here, drink this."

I prick my finger with my knife and give her a few drops.

"Now time to get myself a little more skills, can never have enough."

I push my mana through the mana stone in my body then back out as a little light ball. I repeat this with the rest of the elements.

"May as well learn them now, never know when they might come in handy. Lets see what eating another one does. Mana Change, Light."

"Sensei explain please."

'Well every level two stats are increased by one depending on race or class. You used to be human so you have no race specific stats and you don't have a class so the system is letting you put your points wherever you want. To use the points just think stat increase, then what ever stat you want to increase and by how much.'

"Okay so what do all the different stats do exactly?"

'Ah strength increases your physical ability and physical skill efficiency. Constitution increases your HP. Intelligence increases your MP. Wisdom increases your magic ability and magical skill efficiency. Dexterity increases your speed and precision. Lastly charisma increases your ability to talk and persuade people but it can't be increased by stat points.'

"Well I don't need to increase my charisma anyways. Because of Keep On Living I only have to increase either constitution or intelligence. If I put my stat points across the four remaining stats I'll be stronger than most, but the heroes will be stronger in their two stats than me right."

'Yes and no, for instance if your strength is half that of someone else don't use physical attacks use magic attacks instead. Same goes for someone with high wisdom just use physical attacks instead. The only problem I see with this is dexterity, it might be hard to hit someone twice your speed.'

"Hard, but not impossible. I could always use my ultimate move to hit everything I see. The only problem with that is if it's a someone with high dexterity and wisdom."

'Actually with magic if someone's wisdom is higher than yours it'll only increase the amount of mana required to reach the desired effect. With your insane amount of mana that's really easy.'

"Okay okay I get it I'm a cheat, a god among mortals. Stat increase, strength. Stat increase, intelligence. Stat increase, wisdom. Stat increase, dexterity."

"Sensei I've been wondering for a while, but what exactly do skills do and why are they so easy to get?"

'Skills are gained by doing a certain action. They level up through continuing to do that or similar actions. As your skill level increases you gain a deeper understanding of those actions. For instance you know how you were able to come up with several new types of magic, well those ideas came to you because of your deeper understanding of Living Magic. Skills aren't very easy to get as level zero skills aren't yet considered skills only potential skills some of which you might not have a lower affinity for, such as your still level zero cooking skill.'

"So that's why my cooking hasn't leveled up yet bummer was looking forward to being able to make food a little better than just edible. Speaking of new ideas."

I learned through my magic practice that focusing the mana in my eyes, much like I did with mana roar, I can physically see others mana. After leveling up I realized the change in my own mana related to some of my stats, and using this as a template I can roughly see the stats of other things. I try it on the tree in the center of my divine room.
