Chapter 116. Meeting Lex II

Creak...

As she opened the door, a young teenager walked in. He was an extremely handsome boy with cold short dark brown hair that stretched to his alluring golden eyes which were calmly observing around the room. He was wearing a simple black shirt and loose harem pants, as he walked in.

Screech!

The sound of a chair scraping against the floor could be heard and a quick succession of steps followed as Lex disappeared from the dining table and into the boy's arms, encasing him in the biggest hug that he could possibly achieve.

"Good to see you again, little Lex," Leo spoke out as he stroked his little brother's hair while smiling.

"I've missed you a lot, big bro," Lex spoke out as a tear of joy flowed out of his face.

"Why are you here? I thought you were busy back home," Lex asked curiously.

Cough! Cough!

But before he could answer, a series of coughs sounded and Lex immediately turned around and looked at the immortal and his family, they were all staring at him with confusion. Leo raised his head up and took a good look at the people who had supposedly been taking care of his brother.

There was an old man with wispy white hair whose extremely capturing purple eyes were intently staring at Leo with interest while releasing a strong scent of wine. Upon closer observation, Leo's mind subconsciously shook as he couldn't read the immortal's cultivation realm at all.

On the man's right, was a teenager about the age of thirteen. The boy was not extremely handsome and right from the instance when Leo had entered the room, his eyes immediately shot glares at him as a glow of jealousy sparked up in his bright blue eyes.

Next to the man on his right, was a woman who looked about fifty and Leo immediately took her to be the immortal's wife due to her extremely luxurious clothes along with her strikingly similar resemblance to Leila.

Next to her, was Leila. She seemed to have transformed quite a lot after the short revelation as she was wearing a blue and white dress which beautifully accentuated her now blue and black stranded hair along with her bright indigo eyes.

Seeing the look on her face, Leo immediately realized that she did not know him but her facial expression was deep in thought as she felt like she had seen him before.

"Sorry. Let me introduce you all," Lex spoke as he walked over to the table and asked Leo to sit.

"Everyone, this is my older brother, Leon Areia. He is five years older than me," he introduced Leo to everyone else and vice versa, "Big brother, this is the Drunker Immortal, Lu Yan. This is his wife, Wei Zhihua. This is his son, Lu Wei. And finally, this is his daughter, her actual name is, Lu Xue, who you have already met..."

"Yo!- It's nice to meet you guys," Leo replied as he smiled and bowed at everyone before reaching his hand out for a shake towards the Drunken Immortal.

"Likewise, it is nice to finally meet the brother that Lex keeps praising," the Drunken Immortal replied back in a formal but easy to approach tone as he accepted the handshake.

"I must sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my brother during this period," Leo thanked him.

"The pleasure is all mine. His talent is amazing, I'm really glad to have such a great opportunity to tutor such a talent," Lu Yan replied happily, causing Leo to think of him in a new light.

'He doesn't seem so arrogant for a king...' he thought with interest... Phew, it truly seems like his brother has been in good hands.

"I heard from Lex that you were still busy in the Lapis Kingdom, how come you are here?" Lu Yan immediately asked, curious about why Leo was here.

"He's not wrong, I was busy until a few weeks ago. But I'm here to participate in the Sacred Silk Ceremony which was meant to happen in a few week's time. I heard that the Drunken kingdom would also participate so I decided to head here first to have a reunion with my brother and then leave for Jade City," Leo answered directly.

His answer seemed to have shocked everyone on the table as they all stared at Leo with amazement in their eyes. This small statement cause Lu Yan to change his opinion about Leo as he himself knew about the ceremony and how much it meant to this continent. His eyes suddenly flashed with a sudden short spark of light and as he did so, the disbelief finally seemed to show on his face.

"You are also extremely talented, to reach stage two origin realm at such a young age and to come out from the Crystal Empire, really validates your monstrous talent. Looks like this year's competition will be more fun to watch, maybe you can finally erase the reputation of 'the weakest empire' from the Crystal Empire" Lu Yan chuckled.

"My brother will definitely win this competition!" Lex couldn't help but butt in as he had full confidence in his brother, causing everyone at the table to let out a small chuckle.

"Haha, you haven't changed much, Lex," Leo laughed as he tussled Lex's hair.

He suddenly remembered what Pwea had told him so he immediately got serious again, "Your Majesty, I heard that you guys are planning to leave very soon, is it possible for you to let Lex travel with me?" Leo asked expectantly and hearing this, Lex's eyes immediately sparkled with expectation and joy.

"For how long?" Lu Yan immediately asked with a tone of seriousness.

"I'm want to have him until the start of the new year," Leo answered without pause and the immortal's face immediately flinched as he was not expecting such a long amount of time.

This particular suggestion seemed to anger his son as he immediately stood up and shouted, "Preposterous, you expect to have him for that long? Taking him for that long will hinder his cultivation! How is he supposed to grow strong enough to be my guard in the future then?"

He was about to continue rambling until Lu Yan raised his hand, immediately making him shut up and the immortal took a few moments, seeming to be in deep thought. Finally, he came up with an answer as a plotting smile appeared on his face and he said, "I can let him stay with you until the end of the Silk ceremony but you will only get to keep him until the start of a new year if you managed to fulfil something."

"What is it?"

"Get first place in the ceremony. Then I will feel at peace, letting him stay with you as you are strong enough," replied the immortal.

"Father! How can you just do that?" the son shouted in opposition but the immortal did not pay any attention to him.

"I see..." Leo smiled as he understood what the immortal was expecting, "I agree."

"Great!" the immortal spoke as he smiled and spoke, "Pwea! Please escort Leo and Lex out now. They will not be joining us in our journey and will go on their own."

"Understood, your majesty," Pwea answered as she bowed and then walked over to the brothers and led them out of the room as Leo wore a smile on his face, 'if its a show that you want, its a show that you'll get.'

Hearing the door close again, the royal family continued their dinner with the immortal in deep thoughts of expectation.

"Leon Areia, entertain me," he mumbled out in a volume that only he could hear.
