God's Cafe

A retired god, Kira, has recently passed on his job to a successful hero and decides to open a cafe for characters from all corners of the multiverse. Heroes, villains, and anything in between are welcome to come hang out, trade, and visit other worlds for missions. ------------------------------------------ My first time writing anything so it's probably gonna be garbage but don't go easy on me. Criticism of all kinds is welcome. I won't make any promises about update consistency, university is hell.

Wah!

The man who entered the cafe looks to be no older than 40, wearing a stylish suit, he dons a smile as he comes over to me. Giving a slight bow, he shakes my hand, not seeming very bothered about the info pushed into his head about me being a god.

"You are mister Kira I assume? 343 or Sadman, as you put it, only had good things to say about you, though I am a little surprised at how normal you look. I would have assumed the god of all things to be slightly more… imposing." He says.

The calmness in his voice shows he has been dealing with these kinds of things for a long, long time, not a hint of fear or nervousness can be detected.

"I assure you, O5-5, I can look however I want to look like," I say, shifting my body to look like an exact clone of him. This surprises both Loki and Hestia, who are silently observing our conversation, but it doesn't faze the man in front of me. I shift back before he can comment on this.

"Should I call you O5-5 or Blackbird? Or perhaps do you prefer to go by James?" I ask him. The man is a part of the O5 council that leads the SCP Foundation. Hearing the first two names doesn't affect him but hearing me call him James gets him to raise his eyebrows a little.

"Well, I'm already calling you by your first name, so why don't you call me James. I don't think I have heard anyone call me that in several hundred years now." He scratches his chin. It's impressive for a normal human to live hundreds of years, but I guess the fountain of youth helps out with that.

"James, it is. Now, why are you here? To my knowledge, the O5 council members don't personally visit anomalies to investigate." I say and get a nod from James

"That is correct, but we are not dealing with any normal anomaly here. It's not every day a floating door appears in the middle of a council meeting forcing all the council members to evacuate and cause a site-wide lockdown." He says, but I feel like that is precisely what happens on a daily basis in the SCP Foundation.

Seeing as he still hasn't said what his purpose of the visit is, I stay quiet and let him continue.

"Well, since 343 had such good things to say about you as a boss, we decided that someone from the O5 council should visit personally, and I volunteered." He explains, "I was hoping the mission system of the cafe could be a safeguard for our world in case an XK end-of-the-class scenario happens."

"There is actually an anomaly I am interested in acquiring from your world. Are you interested in a trade?" I say, and James seems a bit interested but cautious non the less.

"There are certain anomalies the Foundation could never give up, so I would have to know what you are interested in but what are you offering in exchange." I would like to get SCP-999 The Tickle Monster, but I'm guessing he is one they aren't willing to give up. There are, however, others I would like to have.

"You have a priestess of the Ancient Ones in containment I would like to hire as an employee. As for what I offer, I would take care of that Impossible-To-Destroy Reptile for you." Hearing that I could kill the reptile for them, James closes his eyes and falls into thought for a whole minute before nodding.

"That sounds like more than a fair deal. Are you going to issue a mission for that?" He asks, and I shake my head.

"No, I don't have anyone nearly strong enough to kill that thing other than myself, so I will come personally," I say, snapping my fingers as we teleport to site-19 in their world, where the Impossible-To-Destroy Reptile is contained.

[O5-5 POV]

After Kira snapped his fingers, we appeared in an empty conference room in site 19. I quickly called the site director and explained we were here to take care of the reptile, and he seemed very disbelieving that we could actually do this.

An emergency situation was declared as most security guards prepared for a possible containment breach if things went wrong. Only the bare minimum were kept at other anomalies.

SCP-682's cell is drained of the acid it swims in, and while it heals from the damages, the door is opened as Kira steps inside alone. The guards form several layers behind the locked door, ready to open fire if Kira fails and the lizard breaks out.

I, the site director, and several researchers are gathered in a room with lots of screens showing the feed from inside the containment cell. The whole thing is recorded for future research purposes as well.

We watch as Kira enters the cell, and the giant door closes and locks behind him.

The reptile gets up from the ground, but against our expectations of it trying to kill Kira right away, it just stands there, menacingly.

On the opposite side, Kira stands with both hands in his pockets, staring at it with a smile. This stare-down goes on for a whole minute, making everyone looking at the cameras sweat due to the anxiety.

Finally, it is Kira who breaks the standoff by taking his right hand out of his pocket and walking closer to the lizard. He puts his hand forward, and the Impossible-To-Destroy Reptile puts its own front paw in Kira's hand.

After a few seconds, Kira pulls away his right hand, making the reptile's paw fall to the ground. He now puts forward his left hand, and the reptile gives its opposite paw to Kira.

The researchers in the room are both confused but also excited. Some are whispering among each other, discussing if this is some sort of a secret ritual to kill the monster.

Kira continues to make hand gestures as the reptile sits, lays down, and even does a barrel roll on the ground. After all this, it is clear that this is no ritual we are looking at, and it's the site director that voices everyone's thoughts out loud.

"Is he treating it like a dog?" Sure enough, after he says it, Kira brings out a chicken carcass from thin air and throws it to the reptile as if it's a treat.

Once the reptile finishes its treat, Kira beckons it to come forward as he puts his hand on the Impossible-To-Destroy Reptile's head. A light glow encompasses the reptile before it falls to the ground limply.

Kira looks over at the camera before disappearing and reappearing behind us. "Alright, so that's taken care of, now for my new employee."

"Is it really dead?" I ask, and he nods.

Hearing this, the site director sends in some guards to check the body. One brave soul volunteers to go in, probably hoping for a promotion. He pokes the reptile with the tip of his gun, getting no response, he gathers enough courage to kick it and still nothing.

I guess it's really dead, just like that. "You probably know where she is contained already. I called the site director there. They are aware that you will be taking the anomaly away."

Kira waves his hand and says goodbye before disappearing.

[Kira POV]

I teleported to another site where the priestess of the Ancient Ones is contained. Her cell looks like a standard well-furnished room, much better than the empty metal box that the reptile was in.

The girl herself is sitting by a table drawing on a digital tablet, there are lots of tentacles coming out from behind her. Also, her hair looks squishy.

"Yo," I say, and she turns around to look at me.

"Uh, hello. Sorry, I didn't hear you come in." She says. Of course, she didn't. I teleported after all. "You don't look like the people who normally come here to bring me food or other stuff."

"Nope, I'm here to hire you as a librarian, you interested?" I ask, and she tilts her head to the side.

"Hire me? I'm stuck here, you know, they wouldn't let me go out because I'm an anomaly or something like that."

"I already dealt with that. You are free to go." I explain, "Killed a giant lizard."

After a second of thinking, she stands up, and her tentacles disappear. "Well, I don't have anywhere else to go right now, and the Ancient Ones support the decision, so why not. Can I bring my drawing things?"

Note: I have created my second fanfic called "Incomplete System in Marvel" and already uploaded the first chapter.

I warn you that it has a system (obviously) and harem so it's not everyone's cup of tea.
