Chapter 4: Father

It was a thing I never felt.
A father who will always there to protect me. And a mother who will give me unconditional love forever. Even in this life, I don't believe in those things anymore. Everything is still unclear and not possible. As I wiped my tears, we heard a sudden voice. "His Majesty, the emperor of Delavan Empire is now entering." What the hell was that?
The emperor? I never thought he will visit today. The maid beside me suddenly frozed. It seems she is terrified, but why? "My father, His Highness, the emperor is here".
she then looked at me and smiled.
"Yes, Your Highness.
I shall accompany you along the way."
I nod, as we stand up and walk inside. She was holding my hand while I was still wearing the flower crown we made. I also wanted to meet him, to meet your cruel father who abandoned you, princess. You must be having a hard time because of your family too. Don't worry, I will help you. Because I'm here inside your body, I won't let you down. The atmosphere was absolutely terrifying, as we arrived at the front door of the castle.
The door was huge.
"We greet His Majesty, the emperor and the sun of our glorious empire."
A handsome man who resemble my appearance with a cold expression stared at me. His eyes were pink as rose, but it wasn't filled with warm, it was cold and deadly eyes who will soon bring end to my life, and his hair was black and shiny, it was the only thing different, I heard that I got my hair from my mother. I'm already used to this treatment, daddy, so next time try your best to scared me. I slightly bowed my head to show my respect, because he is still the emperor. what can I do? I'm just a little kid. Provoking this man will just bring disaster to my life. The maid was still bowing her head. There was one person who stood beside the emperor, he was wearing an odd uniform, seeing there was a sword beside him, he must be a guard or a knight. This place is getting weirder and weirder everytime I get to know something. The emperor was tall or is because I'm small? How old am I anyway? I was about to speak, but I got cut off by the person who was standing beside the emperor. He bend his knees to show his respect and he gently held my hand and slightly kiss it. I guess that's the way things work here, huh?
"I greet Her Highness princess
Zarah Delavan, the princess of our glorious empire".
