3 Chapter 03: The Grudge Part 2

In the morning, in a public park.

Lucas was lying on a public wooden bench, holding his stomach with a pale face making an expression of pain.

Roonc ! Roonc ! Roonc !

(Lucas): " Ouch! Damn, how hungry!"

Roonc ! Roonc ! Roonc !

(Lucas): " Ouch ! Loki that bastard, he never told me that I would feel hungry during my missions. Ouch !"

With pain, Lucas pressed hard on the stomach that constantly produced the sound of hunger.

Roonc ! Roonc ! Roonc !

(Lucas): " Aaai ... hum!"

Inhale! Inhale! Inhale!

(Lucas): "This smell is the same as the spirits I faced yesterday."

Upon detecting the odor of the spirits, Lucas ignored his hunger and got up from the wooden bench he was sitting on, walking over to where the smell was.

And when he approached the source of the odor, the sound of two women talking reached his ears.

(Woman 1): "... And do you think the curse is here now?"

(Woman 2): "Yes! I'm sure."

(Woman 1): "And why did you come here?"

(Woman 2): "To end this?"

(Woman 1): "... How?"

(Woman 2): "With a simple ceremony in the place where the curse was reborn, at the boy's house. But I can't do this alone, I need you and Rose. "

(Woman 1): "Look, listen, I'm really sorry for everything you've been through and I know you want to help. But this ceremony, I don't know, we can't be part of it. "

(Woman 2): "If the curse is not stopped, more people will die. You have to understand..."

When Lucas arrived at the scene, he saw a blonde woman and an Asian woman.

The blonde woman who seemed to have fallen out with the Asian woman, left her side and went towards the park swing, where she picked up a girl and left the park.

The Asian woman who watched the blonde and the girl leave, sat on the bench while sighing.

Lucas, who saw this as an opportunity to get closer, went to the Asian woman sitting on the bench.

Before he could finish speaking, the pain of hunger attacked him violently, causing Lucas to kneel involuntarily on the park floor.

(Asian woman): "... Are you okay?"

(Lucas): "I ..."

Holding his stomach in pain, Lucas was incredibly pale.

Trying to endure the pain, Lucas made a last effort to ask for help.

(Asian woman): "I, I'll be right back!"

In a panic the Asian woman ran out of the park, leaving Lucas alone in pain.

Desperately eating the last of the three marmitex, Lucas looked like a hungry wolf who hadn't eaten in days.

Chomp! Chomp! Chomp!

(Lucas): "Burp ... phew ! Thanks! That really saved me."

(Asian woman): "..."

While being watched by the Asian woman, Lucas finished eating the three lunchboxes she had brought him from a restaurant.

(Lucas): " Ahhh ! I feel much better now, I owe you one, but ... what is your name again?"

( Naoko ): "... My name is Naoko ... and what did you want to talk to me about? It didn't look like you wanted to ask me for food."

(Lucas): "... sigh! I know you are in trouble"

( Naoko ): "... Look! You are not some kind of swindler are you? Because you look too young for that"

(Lucas): "What !? No, I'm not a con man!"

(Lucas): "Listen, I know you are in trouble, because I smelled the evil spirits on you"

Naoko 's eyes narrowed, watching Lucas with a not-so-good expression.

Tired of hearing Lucas, Naoko got up from the bench that she and Lucas were sitting on. And walked towards the exit.

But before Naoko finished her journey, Lucas reached out and blocked her way.

( Naoko ): "If you don't get out of my way now, I'll call the police ..."

(Lucas): "I can prove that I spoke the truth!"

( Naoko ): "... Really and how do you intend to do that?"

(Lucas): "... If you promise not to run, I will show you"

( Naoko ): "Alright! I promise, now show me!"

(Lucas): "What! Here ?!"

( Naoko ): "Yes! If you want to prove me the truth, it has to be here and now! Or did you think I would accompany you to some strange place?"

(Lucas): "..."

( Naoko ): "Come on! Show me your proof."

Lucas looked around the place where they were and saw many people close by.

Sighing, Lucas turned his gaze to Naoko .

(Lucas): "Don't regret it later."

( Naoko ): "Regret it? Why would I regr..."

Before Naoko could finish speaking, Lucas became the ghost rider.

(Naoko): "Ah!"

With a cry of dread, Naoko turned to try to escape. But the ghost rider was faster, reaching Naoko and hitting her on the head. Causing her to lose consciousness while the people around her screamed in terror.

When Lisa and her sister were returning to the building where they lived, they saw that near the entrance to the building was an ambulance and some police cars.

And as they approached the entrance they realized that their older brother Max was talking to the police.

Then Lisa and Rose went to him.

And Max, who noticed them, ended his conversation with the police to go to them.

(Lisa): "What happened here?"

(Max): "Sigh! Let's go inside and I'll tell you"

Agreeing with Max, Lisa entered the building with Rose.

Inside the building, in room 205

Lisa was stroking her sister who had slept on the couch.

Then she looked at her brother who was quietly sitting on the opposite sofa and asked:

(Liza): "What happened?"

(Max): "..."

(Liza): "Max! Are you okay?"

(Max): "... Gretchen died "

(Liza): "What ?! Gretchen? But how did she die?"

(Max): "I don't know, when I went to her room she was already dead"

(Liza): "... Look, I think we need to get out of here. I talked to Naoko and Doctor Sullivan today."

(Max): "Did you talk to them?"

(Liza): "Yes! And they think we are in danger."

With a small depressive laugh Max answered her:

(Max): "It was just what was missing, Naoko has no time to sign the agreement, but has time to say that we are in danger"

(Liza): "You can hear me! I already said that I am worried!"

(Max): "What are you worried about? You're leaving, it's not your problem anymore"

Seeing that her brother was not intending to listen to her, Liza headed for the exit.

Leaving room 205, Liza stood in the hallway on the second floor and sighed thinking about the constant tragic events that occurred inside the building.

(Liza): "Why did these things happen right now?"

(Liza): "Sigh! Anyway, I still have to talk to Naoko "

Having made her decision, Liza walked up the stairs to the second floor to go up to the third floor.

Upon reaching the third floor, Liza walked down the hall until she was in front of room 303. The room Naoko was supposed to be in.

Toc! Toc! Toc!

(Liza): " Naoko ! It's me Liza, are you there?"

Silent!

Having not received an answer, Liza decided to leave thinking that Naoko had not yet arrived.

And just as Liza was about to reach the stairs, a sinister sound reached her ears.

Creaaaak !

Liza stopped her steps and turned to look at the sound source.

The location was the fourth 305, where the Kimble family had died.

Creaaaaaaaaak ! Creaaaaak ! Creaaaaaaaak !

The sounds coming from the room started to increase. And the third- floor corridor started to show signs of getting dark.

Realizing that it could be dangerous to stay where you were. Liza ran, going down the stairs to reach her room on the second floor.

And at the top of the stairs on the third floor, an Asian boy with white and blue skin was watching Liza enter her room.

In a Chicago public park, Naoko, who was sleeping on a bench, slowly started to wake up.

( Naoko ): "Hum ... where am I?"

(Lucas): "Still in the park"

Hearing Lucas' voice, Naoko quickly got up from the bench and looked at him in amazement, remembering the events before she passed out.

(Lucas): "Calm down! I didn't do anything to you"

( Naoko ): "... Did you just now ... have you turned into a monster?"

(Lucas): "... Yes"

(Naoko): "..."

(Lucas): "Hey! Don't look at me with that face, I am no evil to be fought."

( Naoko ): "But you are a monster, aren't you?"

(Lucas): "Sigh! Look, I am not someone from this world and I was only sent here to help you end Kayako's curse "

( Naoko ): "... And who sent you?"

(Lucas): "A god called Loki "

(Naoko): "..."

(Lucas): "Please! Believe me, I'm just trying to help"

Naoko was silent for a moment, then looked Lucas in the eye and said to him:

( Naoko ): "I don't know any god named Loki ... and you're still a stranger to me, I can't trust you!"

(Lucas): "Sigh! So what do I need to do to gain your confidence? After all, it is a great injustice to judge me only by my appearance"

Naoko thought for a moment and then answered him:

( Naoko ): "I don't trust you, but ... if what you told me is true, I can at least show you the building"

Hearing Naoko's words , Lucas followed her out of the empty park.

Liza was standing in her room, in front of the door that leads to the second-floor hall.

She held her cell phone in her hand, as if waiting for a call.

Trim! Trim!

(Liza): "Hello! Andy, are you here yet?"

(Andy): "I already arrived, and I'm here waiting for you at the entrance to the building"

(Liza): "Okay, so wait for me there, I'm already going down"

Having hung up the phone, Liza took a deep breath before opening the door and leaving as she scanned the hall.

Finding nothing unusual, Liza went to the stairs where she went down to meet Andy at the exit of the building.

When Liza left the building, she saw Andy standing by the door waiting for her.

(Andy): "Why did you call me so suddenly? Wouldn't we meet at the airport?"

(Liza): "Andy! We need to talk"

(Andy): "... Alright! There's a restaurant nearby, because we don't talk while we have dinner"

Upon hearing Andy's suggestion, Liza agreed.

Then when the two were about to leave, Liza spotted Naoko accompanied by a young boy walking towards the entrance to the building.

And seeing that this was an opportunity to speak to Naoko , Liza ran over to her while her boyfriend Andy followed.

(Liza): " Naoko ! Hi! I need to talk to you!"

( Naoko ): "Miss Liza, how can I help you?"

(Liza): "About that ..."

(Lucas): " Naoko ! I think I'm going to go ahead"

( Naoko ): "What! No! You are not going to enter that building without me!"

(Liza): " Naoko , who is he?"

( Naoko ): "Is he ...?"

(Lucas): "I am Lucas, the man who had exterminated the ghosts, who haunt the building where they live"

(Andy): " Buhuhuhu ! Ghosts !? Are you serious?"

Ignoring Liza's boyfriend, Lucas looked at Naoko and said to her:

(Lucas): "The spirits of the building have already noticed my presence, if we do not act now the people who are still in the building were in danger"

(Liza): "Wait! How come the people in the building are in danger ?!"

(Lucas): "Come with me and see for yourself, Naoko, let's go!"

(Naoko): "Yea!"

With Naoko's approval , Lucas walked to the entrance of the building with her.

And Liza, who saw the two going to the building, decided to follow them along with her boyfriend who reluctantly followed them too.

Upon arriving at the entrance of the building the group stopped, so Naoko who had the keys stayed in front of Lucas, to open the first entrance door.

Unlock!

Open it!

After opening the first door, Naoko entered, opening the way for the group.

And when Lucas put his foot inside the building, the whole building started to shake sending several sounds of death produced by Kayako and his son Toshio , who gave a bone- chilling shiver to anyone who heard it.

(Andy): "What the hell was that ?!"

(Liza): " Naoko , that was ..."

( Naoko ): "Yes, they did, but why did they act that way?"

Naoko was surprised by the abnormal reaction of the building. But then she remembered the bizarre existence that was Lucas.

Was it the cause of it ?: Naoko thought .

While the three were confused, Lucas was not. He understood that this strange action of the spirits was a warning directed to him not to enter the building.

Hmm! Do they really think they will be able to stop me with these threats?!: Lucas thought while smiling, before turning into the ghost rider.

(Andy): "Ah!"

(Liza): "Ah!"

(Naoko): "Ah!"

Upon seeing Lucas becoming the ghost rider. Andy, Liza and Naoko gave a startled cry, and quickly moved away from him.

(Ghost Rider): " Naoko ! The situation has changed, you and the other two are going to have to stay outside the building."

(Liza): "What! No! My brothers are still inside and I'm going to save them"

( Naoko ): "She, she is right, no guarantee that you will be able to save her brothers alone. We will go with you!"

The ghost rider looked at the determined eyes of the two women and then sighed.

(Ghost Rider): "Okay! But you should be aware that the evil spirits are furious and incredibly aggressive and can attack you anytime and anywhere in the building. So don't move away from me!"

Hearing the rider's words, the three agreed by nodding at him.

Seeing that the three agreed, the ghost rider then walked to the second door and kicked it.

Baam!

The ghost rider's kick easily broke through the door, leaving the three nearby surprised by his strength and violence.

And after the ghost rider broke down the door, he looked toward the stairs that lead to the next floor.

(Ghost Rider): "Good! So now, it's time for a second round"
