Defeat me in Chess

The next morning, Hael already made it in to Romozz. He went straight to his class room and sat on his chair. He tried to start a conversation with Ryujjn, but she just showed her cold self. Hael didn't mind anymore and just napped, there's still a little bit more time before the start of class.

As he was resting, a loud shout erupted in the room. " You..... How are you still here?! "

Hael looked at the one responsible for the commotion. The boy who started a conflict with him was pointing towards him, gathering all the attention.

Hael ignored his tantrum and just continued with his sleep.

" I'm talking to you! What did you do to them?! "

The boy continued to ask questions while threatening Hael.

" Can you shut up? If you're asking for this "them" they decided to show their "True" self "

Hael ignored his rants and slept more.

The boy was about to retort but a fat middle aged man came in and introduced himself.

He is a notorious teacher who hates commoners.

" If not for the prince and princess, I've already denied to teach this room.. "

After a few minutes, the teacher noticed Hael wasn't listening, so he called him out.

" If you're sleeping in the room, you must've thought my subject is irrelevant huh. You filthy pig "

Hael scratched his eyes and looked at the teacher. ' Ironic.....'

The teacher forced Hael to answer a question in the board. The teacher is currently looking smug while looking at Hael in disdain.

Hael looked at the board without changing his emotions.

The teacher wiped the bored out of anger and embarrassment. " This will be it for today "

He left while grabbing his books. He didn't forget to slam the door though.

" Is my blood that offending? " Hael giggled and whispered under his breath.

The kids in the class were silent due to what just happened.

Hael walked to the door ,to go to the bathroom, but was stopped.

"What's up with my blood and walking to the door? "

Hael frowned from disappointment and looked at the person who grabbed him. He saw Homutsubi there smiling at him.

" Sorry, I'm not gay"

Homutsubi retained his smile and spoke after him.

" You're quite smart, huh. You see there's a ranking in every room, one for the smartest ,one for the strongest, one for the most good looking etc. You're already top 1 for looks in man, but are you interested in winning the top 1 for brains? "

"...." Hael turned his head and proceeded to walk out of the room, but he was blocked by Homutsubi.

" Come on.. It won't take long. "

"Then, what's in it for me? "

"Honour, Title and a Medal " Homutsubi smiled and looked proud while showing a medal of his own.

" I give that title to you "

Hael moved to the left and proceeded to walk out , but was inevitably stopped again.

" Come on. There's a system here. I can't just take a Title because someone offered it to me. How about this. I challenge you to a duel. If I win you win the title but if I lose you get a Intermediate class Skill gem.

" Wha- . Why do all of this? " Hael was shocked by the amount of effort he's giving this. "

" Cuz it's fun " Hael could see the excitement is Homutsubi's eyes.

"Hah... You're interesting. Fine I agree to your challenge! " Hael genuinely liked his personality and furthermore, Hael also liked having fun. Also a Intermediate skill gem is on the line, it has the ability to raise your skill level by a lot and considering his level 2 skill it will probably raise to 7 or something. That means 5 more clones!

Their conversation gathered the attention of the entire class.

The top rankers where smiling at their upcoming interaction finding it interesting.

"So how do we do this? " Hael was quite unfamiliar with the duel system of Romozz. He still know the word so he knows the gist of it.

Homutsubi seemed to have thought about it already so he replied in an instant.

" Since I am several ranks higher than you. We will do something that will use your brains. "

" I challenge you in a game of Chess ! "

Hael's eyes grew sinister. He laughed while reassuring the type of duel Homutsubi proposed.

" Are you sure ? " He grinned

Homutsubi looked at Hael in confusion. He tried to think of something wrong with the challenge. It can't be that Hael doesn't know Chess, it's pretty famous and there's also a commoner version.

Homutsubi erased the thoughts and said there's nothing wrong.

" Let's do it on the canteen. I'll be there in 5 mins."

Hael proceeded to exit the room to do his business.

Exactly 5 mins later, Hael arrived at the canteen and saw a lot of spectators surrounding one chair. Hael ignored it and tried to look for Homutsubi.

He walked past the crowd but was stopped by a shout.

It was Homutsubi's voice coming from the chair being surrounded by the crowd.

" You don't mean.... "

Hael was shocked by the amount of spectators, but he brushed it off wanting the reward. He walked to the chair, with the crowd making a passage through them.

When he was near the chair, He saw a group of people including Homutsubi and Mizuchi in them.

He walked closer to them until finally standing in front of them.

"Since the main guy arrived we will start the duel. But before that I'll introduce you first. "

Homutsubi pointed at a guy with an athletic body but is pretty short, he has red hair and a piece of cloth covering his mouth.

" That's Jinx , the holder of the Speed Medal. He is faster in land than the Swift Cheetah, faster in air than the Wind Falcon and faster in water than the Northern Violet Sailfish. "

Homutsubi switched his introduction to Kuno. He is also a man with an athletic body with an average height. He has green hair and a carefree face.

" That's Kuno, holder of the Ranger Medal. He can shoot an ant 300 meters away with a single arrow and kill a man 500 meters away with a single rock. "

He shifted his attention to the last person a short lady which has common appearance, but has very deep eyes,

"That's Lily, holder of the Strategy Medal. She can defeat an army of 100 with only 20! She is also scouted by the Royal Strategist himself. "

" He is Hael our fellow Class S classmate. He has the looks of a magnificent and mysterious prince. He showed unbelievable intelligence even defeating one of a Romozz professor! "

Hael cringed from his introduction.

" Anyways how do we do this? "

Hael thought he is only fighting Homutsub, but he probably didn't bring them to spectate.

" Simple you will fight all of us in turn, the medal and reward Isn't easy to have after all. "

Hael already predicted it. The only problem that has the ability to make him fail is Lily.

He thought of a lot scenarios and plans to fight her.

Before Hael finished completing his plans he was distracted by a a loud voice coming from Homutsubi.

"Let the Medal games begin!"
