9 Masterless Vision

Lumine and I sat on the long sofa. Across us are Eula and Hertha taking a sip of a cup of coffee. Rizark sat alone on the side.

"May I ask what level are you two?" Rizark asked taking a glance at us..

"Is that important?" I answered with a question.

"Yeah, We have to assign you a post before going to battle. We need to know whether you can handle the task. I don't want to see any casualties in my command." Rizark explained my questions.

"Is that so? I'm level 40." I nodded then turned my head to Lumine.

She looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. "I'm Level 44."

Rizark, Eula and Hertha's eyes widened in surprise. It was just for a moment but they couldn't believe it. In Mondstadt, the highest level attained is 100.

Varka's expedition armies don't count.

That's because, after reaching Level 100. They will have to find materials compatible with them to be able to ascend to the next phase. But these materials are very rare, it's not easy to find.

In the game, Farming Ascension materials is quite easy but in this world. It's a hundred times harder.

Of course, I still don't know about this.

Anyhow, Rizark is a Level 60 plus. Eula is a Level 50 plus. She's still young and has more potential than Rizark. That's what Rizark thought.

"How old were you two?"

"Is this necessary? I feel like I'm in an interview for a job." I helplessly asked.

"Hahaha, Of course not. I'm just curious." Rizark scratched the back of his and laughed out loud.

"Well, I'm 19, my preference is beautiful girls. Newbie adventurer. I want to get strong to woo girls. I want to become the Harem King." I stood up and said in one breath but my face was stoic without emotion.

"Really?" Hertha incredulously asked.

"Of course not." I sat down again and shrugged my shoulders. Well, I have quite a few favorite girls in this world. But I won't say that. I mean why would I indulge my secrets to the people I couldn't trust just yet? Lumine is an exception.

"Hahahaha, Boy you're quite interesting. You piqued my Interest." Rizark patted my shoulder hard and he laughed.

This guy reminds me of a certain Vice Admiral from a certain pirate anime.

Lumine rolled her eyes as she whispered that I could hear. "Pervert."

My mouth twitched. I ignored that.

Eula's eyes showed no emotion. She looked at me as if she saw her nemesis. The look of disgust, as if telling me. 'Don't taint my beautiful visage with your dirt.'

Come on, I'm just joking.

"I'm not into 'that'." I retorted Rizark. But he laughed again. This old man will die of laughter if this continues.

"Let's stop this. For now, we need to put up a plan to defeat our enemies first. In the past months, the Hilichurls have been quite persistent and tried to destroy our outpost. We finally found what they were cooking, thanks to our best scout captain, Eula Lawrence, also known as Spindrift Knight." Hertha stopped the joke. I also stopped as it was not time for that.

"That's given as it's my duty as the captain of reconnaissance Company. My work is very thorough and without flaws. How could I gain the trust of the Knight of Favonius? Once I gain enough amount of prestige, I will be able to infiltrate the heart of Knigh of Favonius. This is all for my Vengeance." Eula interjected. She stood up as he raised her head high. Looking down at all of us.

"Is she okay?" Paimon tilted her head.

"Oh, that. Well, Eula has quite a personality you see. But don't worry she meant to harm." Hertha explained as she remained unbothered by Eula's declaration.

"What kind of personality is that? you sure she ain't a corporate spy or something," Paimon said finger on her chin.

"That's obvious, I'm a spy. But these people think I'm not. I will let them watch, what I could do." Before Hertha could reply Paimon. Eula again interjected. I was smiling watching this.

"Huh? Paimon doesn't understand. If you say you're a spy and the people you spying on don't believe you. Wouldn't that mean your amazing spy?"

"Oh my, floating little girl you're right. This a tactic." Eula nods.

"Huh?"

Only Lumine and Paimon were puzzled. They think that Eula is concocting a rebellion but I thought otherwise.

Although, I won't point that out.

"Anyway, Why are we always straying from the topic? I'll get angry you know." Hertha grows a vein on her forehead. "Eula please tone down a little bit. You can't mess with our guest."

"I was just being truthful," Eula whispered. She looks at me, seeing me smiling at her.

Hertha took out a map, and using a stick she pointed to a part of the map, a location.

"Wait a minute, should there be other important people to discuss this plan?" I interjected.

"The other team leaders already know the plan. We already assigned them their respective post. The two of you are the last one." Rizark answered my doubts.

"Oh. That's it." I finally understand.

"Since Lumine and Ronan are quite high-level. You two will go with Captain Rizark and Eula Lawrence to fight the leader of the horde. They are very powerful, the ordinary Knights and Adventurers cannot fend them off." Hertha pointed at the map. "In this area, we found the leader to be an Abyss Mage."

When she said that the atmosphere became tense. It became serious.

"Abyss Mage?" Paimon asked.

"Abyss Mage is from a faction called the Abyss Order they are the enemy of Teyvat. They desired the destruction of the seven archons. At least that's what we know of them." Hertha explained. She shrugged her shoulders, I could see she knew something but did not delve into the secrets.

"The Abyss mage is comparable to my level you see. It's also a Pyromancer like me. It's quite a troublesome enemy." Rizark said as his eyes squinted. "If only we have a Hydro vision holder."

"Its shield is very troublesome. Eula and Rizark cannot do anything against this Pyro Mage as long it has its shield." Hertha nodded as she contemplated with a deep frown. Vexed by the outcome.

"Huh? Where are the other vision holders? I mean there should be other than the two of you in this city right?" I asked.

"About that, Grandmaster Varka took almost everyone with a vision to an expedition. There are only kids in town who can use vision, surely, you don't want kids to fight these monsters ain't you?" Rizark said. "And also, Some adults who are left behind are in Mondstadt right now. Stormterro has been terrorizing Mondstadt for some time."

"Oh, no wonder." I nod in understanding. But what about Klee? Isn't she a child? Diona? I did not say about them or they may be suspicious of me.

"Speaking of Vision, The two of you, I noticed that you two don't have a vision, Why is that?" As the two captains were thinking. Eula asked Lumine and me who were also contemplating. "How intriguing, to think the two of you have reached that level without a vision is very admirable.

Although, You don't have to answer my questions. I'm not privy to anyone's matter when it doesn't involve my vengeance."

Lumine and I became tense when hearing that. We forgot to think about this matter. Our secrets are very important and we can't have anybody prying into it.

As expected. With Eula's keen observation. It wouldn't be able to fool her.

On the way, we bought an accessory that looked like a vision but it seemed it could not fool a true vision holder.

As for why we bought it. It's because it's hard to explain why we have high levels.

"Aren't they carrying them?" Hertha pointed at the fake vision on us.

"Hmm, It doesn't have any elemental reaction," Rizark said. "I would like to know as well, as Eula said, you don't need to answer. I wouldn't want the two of you back out on this mission your help will be great. It weighs more than knowing your secrets."

"Thank you." I patted my chest.

Lumine was also relieved. She put her hand on her chest. Not in a naughty way, she's just relieved okay.

"I have a favor to ask." After some time of thinking in my mind. I finally spoke up.

"What is it, boy?"

"Do you have any Masterless Vision?" I felt a little embarrassed asking that. There is something I want to try.

"Ho, you want to try reactivating it?" Rizark smirked. He understood my intentions very well. "You're quite optimistic, I like that! Hahaha."

"Ronan, what is a Masterless Vision?" Lumine asked she turned her head to me.

"Allow me to answer. Kuhon!" Paimon floats in front of Lumine."Masterless Vision is a Vision without a master. Well, just like its name. These visions, their master already perished. So the Vision will become dull and useless. But, these visions have a chance to be reactivated. However, it's very rare for it to be reactivated."

"How do you know?" Lumine tilted her head and asked Paimon.

"I read a lot of books." Paimon put her hands on her waist proudly.

Hertha chuckled lightly. "We do have Masterless Visions. But, there is only one person who was able to reactivate a vision. Even I wasn't able to do so..." The latter part was a little bit off. I could see her downcast.

Hertha stood up and walked out for a moment to retrieve the visions.

I'm quite nervous. I know Lumine is visionless but she can have elemental powers if she worships the Seven Archons statue. Though, I don't know about myself.

After all, I'm not from the same race as her. From what I heard, there is another person who came from another world and she has only one elemental power.

That's why, I have to use this opportunity.

"I'm back. We have plenty of Masterless Visions but they are in Mondstadt. Fortunately, We have Hydro and Electro Visions in hand." Hertha placed the visions on the coffee table. Their design is from Mondstadt.

"Lumine you want to try first?" I turn my head to Lumine. My heart was beating fast, I was so anxious that if this Visions didn't react I would be greatly disappointed.

Lumine without saying anything took one. I don't know how they can tell what vision this is, it's white.

Looking closely, there seems to be a pattern or symbol. After Lumine held the Vision for about a minute, it didn't show any reaction.

"As expected," Hertha muttered.

Lumine's mood was unknown. She seems unbothered for some reason.

I took the other one. My heart keeps beating like it's been on fire. I felt a sense of connection as I held the vision in my hand. It's like it's calling me out.

Unknowingly, I was in a space filled with various colors. Lumine and the others disappeared from my sight.

I closed my eyes as I could feel a breeze brushing past my body. Then I felt the heat in my heart, the shivering cold in my veins, the liquidy texture that wrapped around me, the electrons on my mind were rampaging. The muscles and bones hardening. As these elements surround me I feel very lively as I can smell the freshness of life.

I don't know how much time has passed. Although, it sounds excruciating it wasn't. I feel energetic rather than pain. It's like I'm part of these elements.

When I open my eyes. Lumine and the others were looking at me with wide-open eyes.

"You! What are you?" Rizark stood up from his seat as if he had seen a monster.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked quite a bit confused.

"That" Hertha pointed at the Vision I was holding.

Eula frowned, she did not say anything. She elegantly sipped her coffee as she stared at me with interest.

In my hand is the Vision I picked up. The crystal or something lit up. But instead of the Electro pattern that it had, this one is more complicated. It looked like a triquetra with rainbow colors.

Seeing this, I feel a sense of excitement but also dumbfounded. I could not help but laugh out loud.

"Yes!" I did a gusto pose.

"Congratulations." Lumine smiled and clapped her hands.

"No, No, No, No! what Congratulations. This is unheard of. This is unreal, this should not exist. What is that? Is that even possible?" Paimon retorted Lumine as she pointed at me with disbelieving eyes. "As Rizark Old man said, What are you?"

"Uh, You already knew right?" I said while scratching the side of my forehead with my finger.

"Ugh." Paimon became dejected. She knows I'm the same as Lumine. Not from this world. She wanted to say more but she didn't want Rizark and Hertha to know my secrets.

I appreciate her response. But when I saw the pattern and Paimon's clothes. I frowned.

Hertha's eyes became dull as she stared intently at the vision in my hand as she muttered loudly. "Seven colors doesn't that mean he can use all elements? I never heard of this before. How could a person hold so many elements? This is unfair..."

I gulped not replying. Tell that to the one who sent me here.
