Toward Dragonspine - 01

When Jack opened his eyes again, he was in the unfamiliar tent.

"Ah… Jack, you woke up?"

In front of his eyes was a young man that had quite good looks, with greyish hair and green eyes, and he looked rather familiar.

"Oh… Bennett… It's my time?" Jack recognized him and asked him.

It was the start of his third day in Teyvat world. Actually, Jack sometimes couldn't believe it and always thought that if he slept, he would wake up in the hospital or his room as if this was a dream.

"No, you still had time." Bennett answered.

"Hm… Is that so? If that's the case, you can take another rest. While I prepare breakfast." Jack pushed Bennett to make him rest.

"Okay…"

Bennett looked a bit dissatisfied, but he knew that they had been together in the last two days. Jack had always been stubborn about Bennett's condition. His face was always so serious about that, and he told Bennett as the main attacker in these parties.

"Good…" Jack looked at the surroundings. Their camp was usually a place for adventurers to camp as there was a campfire for cooking and firewood. There were no monsters in the surroundings. To be exact, there were no enemies around since the two of them had cleared this area, but still, they slept in a dangerous world. So they still took turns watching at night.

Jack warmed the milk first and took a sip of warm milk from his glass. The surroundings, surprisingly, were a forest with a dense amount of trees. Sometimes the landscape in the game and actually Teyvat were kind of a bit different. It was like when they entered the forest, the density of trees was different. The river in the Windrise was also somewhat bigger than he remembered.

"Well, of course like this more likely a forest or river." Jack talked to himself as he started to prepare breakfast. He made most of his food use the system as the food gave some boost and made it easy for him. He actually could make the food without recipes or a system. Something simple like bacon, egg, and cheese, but it just doesn't give them anything.

That's why Jack didn't make that. He rather got some boots even though his recipes were still limited.

"All right, Jack, we're off!" Bennett said with such eagerness after he washed down his meal. He smiled as bright as ever when they were leaving to do a commission.

"Okay," Jack responded, a bit lackluster.

They strode along the tree-lined road before crossing the river and met the vast land of Windrise. Immediately started cleaning the Statue of the Seven. This commission was nowhere near difficult enough to be exhausting. Still, Jack began to sweat a little as they went along since he needed to go back and forth moving water from the river to the statue.

Jack understood why the requester said that the work would be quick if they used anemo vision, maybe because the statue was made for archon anemo. Even so, they finished cleaning near noon.

They quickly left the statue and walked toward Dragonspine. Jack and Bennett needed to reach the camp they were using last night. Before they arrived on top of the hill, their movement was stopped by other slimes for the time being.

An anemo slime, two of them were small ones with large anemo slimes. Different from any other slimes. Anemo slimes moved by floating in the air, and large ones could jump in the air before the attack with air projectiles that gave anemo damage.

That's why when large anemo slime leaped into the air with its mouth wide open. Jack seized the opportunity. Wordlessly, he quickly shot straight into large anemo slimes. It kind of surprised Jack when a large pop sounded and the large anemo slimes were moving like a balloon exploding.

It looked like he fortunately shot at the exact moment when the weakest moment for large anemo slimes that his low damage could one-shot it.

"Wow, it's such a lucky shot." Jack couldn't help but comment on what had happened.

Bennett himself realized that he sped faster and dove into two small slimes and used his pyro skill to kill the slimes.

"It's over. Huh…" Bennett said while looking at the air and couldn't see large anemo slimes.

"Well, maybe they had weaknesses. It looks like anemo slimes are really weak when inflated?" Jack said as everything had returned to normal. He smiled and pointed to the south.

A small path that climbs up between two hills.

"This small path is a shortcut toward a road that leads to Dragonspine, we just need to beware of any monster that can appear any time." Jack alarmed Bennett as they walked the path that was a bit steep.

Jack thought the way would be difficult, but the monster they met was just another slime, and most of them came running when Jack and Bennett were already on the main road.

Just like always, this slime came closer as soon as they saw any person in their view. These so-called small fries, which were slimes, came running at them every time. It was an easy walk as they followed the main road until there was an obstacle in front of us.

"Ugh… isn't that… Mitachurls?" Jack couldn't help to feel fear when he saw those larger Hilichurls. It was so tall that it could be more than two meters, with a big body and muscular body. Jack had never seen such a menacing monster since those monsters also had a shield as big as them. At the same time, two other hilichurls nearby too.

"Isn't that above our level." Jack asked with a pale face toward Bennett that raised an eyebrow at Jack and spoke.

"Yeah… They are bad." Bennett agreed with Jack's assessment.

Jack folded his arms. "But we really need those treasurer hoarder insignia. To ascend you. To make it easier for our party."

Jack thought about what he could remember from Mitachulrs, the thing that he always remembered was how tough their shields were and their attack mostly charged players that were quite easy to evade.

"Yeah… I think it could be a nice try." Jack smiled nervously while changing his position. Somehow, he seemed to hesitate. He glanced over at Bennett and Mitachurls, but he told Bennett about his plan in the end.

"We need to try this… I will distract the Mitachurls by attacking him. While you defeated those small hillichurls. If the Mitachurls aren't distracted and aiming for you. We ran away."

"Eh! But that's dangerous." Bennett couldn't believe how absurd Jack's plan was.

"We are adventurers. This is maybe a risk, but a worthy one." Jack continued, although Bennett was a bit taken back. But he was still eager to do this crazy plan.

As Bennett agreed, they moved fast. Jack's job right now was simple but difficult, which was to keep sniping Mitachulrs to make him distracted. At the same time, Bennett circled around to attack two grenadier hilichurls.

"Now, let the plan begin." Jack shot. His shot took Mitachurls back. The damage Jack inflicted was just around 20. Not even Mitachurls HP bar decreased at all.

Mitachurls howled as he took out his shield. Even so, Jack shot again and again without any rest. Mitachurls shielded one - two - three attacks before shriek grabbed something in the ground. Ignored Jack's pitiful attack as he threw dendro slime from the ground.

The dendro slimes exploded in the ground which a bit aoe attacked, luckily Jack avoided that attack, but not even time to rest. Mitachurls charged at Jack with a shield attack.

It may have been a straight-line attack, but the speed was beyond Jack's calculation, and the swing of Mitachurls was quick and strong as hell. That Jack could feel the air and how strong Mitachurls were.

"Hahaha… This will be harder than I thought." Jack dashed as he tried to keep his distance from Mitachurls.

Jack observed Mitachurls movement as he shot at him again and again. As he tried to distract these massive monsters from Bennett, who maybe had started fighting other hilichurls.

It looked like a long fight for him.
