Chapter 17: The Surviving Members

"Berserk Kurono, huh."

"What?"

"Ah, that's his nickname at the last time hunt. The Gantz gave him that name." Hojo said, telling Okazaki, who showed some interest towards Kurono.

"I can see why he got that nickname." Konta nodded at the side.

"Those thing is dead. Are we done with the hunt?" asked Tomao.

Hojo checked the radar, but still saw the dot on it. "No, we are still not done yet."

Kato and the rest frowned. He then asked, "How much time have passed?"

"About ten minutes."

"So, we still have fourty to fifty minutes then."

"Huh!? What is that?"

"What?"

"On the roof."

On the roof of every buildings, they could see some silhouettes were standing up, and looking at them. One by one of them jumped down from the roof, and started approaching the hunters.

"One, two, three...f@#k! There are 28 of them!"

"Oh shit! How are we gonna fight against these troops?"

Kurono also frowned. Although he is strong and capable of defending himself, it would be hard for him to defend the others. Moreover, two Daibutsu Aliens also comes out from two buildings.

"Holy crap! What the hell are these? How are we to fight this gargantuan Buddhas?"

"We are dead. We are so dead!"

"Waaa! Grandmaa!"

Everyone are starting to despair when they saw the Daibutsu Aliens stood taller than any buildings in the area.

"I'll go handle them."

"What? You're kidding, right?"

"I'll try to kill those oversized aliens. You guys try your best to survive from the other aliens. I'll come to assist you guys as soon as possible." said Kurono.

After that, he selected one of the Daibutsu Alien as target, and started running towards it.

Kato looked at the others and said, "Everyone, you heard him. Let's cooperate, and try our best to survive. If we can, let's also take down as much aliens as we can."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Bang!

As everyone starting spreading away and attracting their own opponents, one of the smaller sized Buddhist temple alien died as his head got sniped by someone. After that, another one followed to drop dead.

"Who killed him?"

"That guy over there."

While fighting, everyone took a glance and saw Juzo Togo on the roof with a sniper rifle.

Bang! Bang!

Two more were down on the ground. Togo was about to snipe the next one, but paled when a large hand slapped the roof where he was. He rolled away and jumped down. Midair, another hand slapped him.

Thud! Crack!

"Arghh!!"

The slap hurled Togo, causing him to crush down on the ground. He could feel some of his bone broke from the crush. Before he could stand up, the big hand grabbed him, and gripped his body tightly.

"Aaahh!!"

Not caring about the pain that Togo experiencing, the Daibutsu Buddha brought him close to it's mouth, and took a bite on his head.

Chomp!!

With just one bite, his head turned into a mushy remains. Just like that, Juzo Togo died tragically.

One by one of the group are getting killed by the group of Buddhist aliens. Shunichi Ike was easily killed as he didn't know any expertise in using weapon, nor he have the courage to face those alien. With one hard slap from the smaller sized Buddhist temple aliens, his head was twisted twice in a clockwise rotation. He then dropped cold on the ground.

Another one that got killed by these smaller sized Buddhist aliens is the grandmother. Two alien ganged up and beat her down on the ground. Her suit stopped working after some beating, and she died after one of her attacker bashed her head. Ryota was despaired and tried to help her, but also got killed in the process.

From the newcomers, JJ was busy trying to take down an agile alien, while trying to evade an ambush from the guy with a trident. Konta and Tomao was struggling to fight with three types of small Buddhist aliens. In addition, another Buddhist alien with a trident is also ambushing the two, causing them to have a hard time defending themselves.

The dog on the other hand was pinned down on the ground, killed by the one alien with a block on it's shoulder. When Miyafuji saw These people died easily ath the hands of the aliens, he decided to turn invisible and run to hide somewhere.

Another guy that was being hard pressed by the aliens is Akitoshi Okazaki. He was busying himself, trying to kill two aliens but unable to take them down.

Kato and the others is fighting in a group. They are trying to defend themselves from the attacks from several Buddhist aliens. Fortunately, Sakuraoka is in the group. Like JJ, she is also good at self defense and martial arts. Even though the group was facing more than ten aliens, they still managed to hold on.

Boom!

Right then, the Daibutsu Alien who was fighting Kurono fall hard to the ground, causing a tremor that shook the whole temple. Many wounds can be seen on it's body. Both knees were broken, both eyes got blinded, and it's neck was turned wrecked with many hole. Kurono walked out from one of these hole.

Checking the situation, Kurono frowned when he saw that everyone was in a bad situations. Just at this time, he saw Miyafuji got hit by a block and was forced out of invisibility. This happened when he tried to ambush an alien that fighting JJ. Unfortunately, that guy was agile, and easily evaded the shot. Following the shooting trajectory, the alien hurled a block at Miyafuji.

The block hit Miyafuji, cancelling out his invisible state. As soon as he was visible, he tried to run away. Unfortunately for him, a big hand grabbed him.

"Arghhh!! Help!!"

However, everyone was in a critical time, trying to save themselves. Kurono hurriedly run towards him to give some assistance, but it was already too late. The Daibutsu Alien used it's other hand to smash Miyafuji's head. Even with the suit, his head still got cracked. His fate was sealed when the gigantic guy delivered another smash. After that, the alien threw him into it's mouth, and swallowed him whole.

"Shit! Are you some kind of titan?" Kurono almost vomited when he saw how gore the scene was. He forced himself to harden his will, and began fighting the man-eater Buddha.

Another five minutes, and the Daibutsu Alien was dead. As soon as it died, Kurono run around to assist the others.

The situation unexpectedly turned slightly better. With the suit, Konta and Tomao managed to avoid many deathly attack. With their cooperation, they respectively took down two of the smaller sized aliens.

With a heavy breath, they turned around to check on the others.

"What the? That guy already took down both of those monsters."

"Look, he is already running towards that martial art guy."

"We should not embarrassed ourselves, getting weary after facing two small fries."

"You are right. Let's go."

Motivated by the energetic Kurono, both of them rushed towards Okazaki to help the fat guy. At this time Okazaki was being bullied by four aliens, after two additional aliens decided to trouble him. One of these aliens is the one who killed the dog, and the other is the one who killed Shunichi Ike.

"Oraa!"

"Die, you tard alien!"

Konta and Tomao jumped and delivered a flying kick, causing two of the four alien to roll back, and fall to the ground. Konta followed the one he kicked, gripped it's neck, and shot it's head.

Tomao on the other hand kicked another alien who is trying to choke Okazaki to death. That alien was hurled to the side.

"Uhk...Ta thanks. That shit almost killed me." said Okazaki trying to stand up and stabilize his breathing.

Tomao has no time to chat. He evaded to the side, and avoided a smash from a Buddhist alien. The back of the alien was exposed as it smashed down, and Tomao took this chance to step hard on it. He pinned the alien to the ground, and shot it.

The last one tried to attack Konta, but got shot by Okazaki.

"Huh, that's unexpectedly easy." said Okazaki.

"Easy? Are not you being bullied just now?"

"... That's because the are not fighting fairly."

As they chatted, the looked around and saw that everyone else were already managed to defeat the rest of the aliens.

"Let's gather up."

The three of them then approached the other guy. Right now, the only surviving members are Kato, Hojo, Suzumura, Kishimoto, Sakuraoka, Kurono, JJ, Okazaki, Tomao, and Konta.

At this time, Kato was saddened when he saw the dead grandmother grandson duo. "I didn't manage to protect them."

"Come on. There are too many enemies to fight. There is nothing you can do." said Kurono. They only have hands. It's not enough to fight and protect others at the same time. "We could only think of a ways to revive them when we get enough points."

Kato sobered up a little after listening to the advise from his friend.

Kurono continued, "it's not over yet. If I'm not mistaken, there are still two more strong enemies inside the building. Both has four guardians. We better defeat them before the time limit is up."

Hojo checked his radar and nodded. "You are correct. There is one inside that building, and another one in there. Also, we only have slightly more than twenty minutes left."

Kato said, "In that case, we will split into two groups. One group for each."

"Let me go and settle the one on that side. The rest of you go and finish the one over there as soon as possible." suggested Kurono.

The others has no objection to that. They have seen him take down so many giant opponents. Furthermore, this guy seems to know most of the situation here. Therefore, they just agreed to his suggestion.

"Let me warn you guys first. Keep an eye on the one with many hands. Watch out for three things that he hold on his hands. The first thing is a locust that contains acids. The second is a lamp that shoot laser.

The last one is a round object with a sun mural in the middle of it. No matter what, you guys must snatch away that round object. As long as he hold on to that object, you won't be able to kill it."

The warning made everyone's faces turned serious. If that's the case, that enemy is way tougher than any of the one they have faced.

"What about the four guardians?" JJ spoke out for the first time.

"They are good at martial arts. However, they don't have those dangerous object. So, I'm sure you guys can take them down easily." replied Kurono.

After that, he looked at Kishimoto, Sakuraoka, and 'Sadako'. He warned, "You girls should stay away from this fight. Otherwise, there will be more unnecessary death."

With that, he headed out towards the building, where the Kannon alien and his four guardians are residing.
