Daily Life of a True Olympian Geezer

A bit of time had passed since I had gotten back from Tartarus. Over that time I hadn't wasted any, focusing on expanding my skills with the sword and spear.

Luke came out to watch a few times as I fought several dummies I had animated to move with magic. The demigod was still a bit of an outcast since his 'resurrection' and subsequent return to camp.

It took some encouragement before Luke was comfortable enough to join me. I felt for the kid, sure he had betrayed his friends and family but he had every right to be angry at the Olympians.

They put themselves in a self imposed position where they couldn't help their own subjects much less their children.

Eventually I started training the kid to fight like me. It didn't take long as he was already used to fighting with a longer blade than the other demigods.

Luke was the only demigod that fought with a 'bastard' sword in the camp. The kid was a quick study, I instructed him in the basic forms of the Wolf School style and he picked it up almost off the bat.

It wasn't long before he began training against multiple dummies. Though he knew his limits and stuck to fighting three dummies instead of the amount I usually fought.

Silena on the other hand was accepted back sooner than Luke. Mainly due to Clarisse defending her against anyone that spoke against her.

That and the fact that Silena was much more open to revealing why she had betrayed the camp. She was only an informant and hadn't taken any lives like Luke had done.

Luke on the other hand refused to speak with anyone but me and Chiron at first but had apologized the other day to Thalia and Annabeth. It was a step in the right direction but the kid still had a long ways to go before the camp accepted him back fully.

Luna and Aurora had now grown to the size of normal teenagers and had been the first to move into my cabin in the camp.

The campers welcomed them but I could see that they were weary around the twins. I had to personally step in and announce that they were to be treated like normal campers and not as royalty.

The campers were hesitant at first but relented soon after when Percy and Annabeth were the first to make friends with my daughters.

"Damn!" Luke cursed, bringing me out of my introspection.

"What happened?"

"I wasn't fast enough, one of the dummies managed to land a hit."

I smiled at the young man; "That's perfectly fine Luke, you're getting better and better by the day."

Luke sighed and shook his head. "I'm still not at the level where I can even stand against you for a single second."

"See, that's where your problem is kid. I'm stronger than the gods put together. While you can master this fighting style you wouldn't be able to beat me head on."

"Percy fought Ares and beat him at nearly half my age." Luke grumbled.

"Yes but I've also heard that he was in his fathers domain and Ares is hardly the strongest among the Olympians."

Luke smirked. "You took him out with one blow I've heard."

I winced; "Yeah, I was a bit angry, it was a rash move."

"Tell that to the Ares cabin." Luke chuckled.

The Ares cabin had been rather angry when the news hit that I had permanently killed their father. Some were glad for it but a majority still saw me as enemy number one.

Clarisse had started warming up to me when she had learned that I had been the one to resurrect Silena. But one camper was hardly enough to convince a full cabin that I didn't kill their dad to usurp his position.

"Lord Corvinus?" Luke called out pulling me back from my thoughts again.

"Yes Luke?"

"Would you take me on your travels?"

I frowned. "What brought this on?"

The demigod sighed before stabbing his sword into the sand. He sat down and was silent for a moment seemingly thinking about what to say.

"I- I just don't think they'll all forgive me. I'd rather be anywhere else rather than sticking around and having them glare at me with all the hate."

"Can you blame them?" He winced. "You killed some of their friends that night. They'll never forget that. Forgiveness on the other hand. Only time will tell."

"Well, it doesn't change the fact that I don't feel welcome in the camp anymore."

"Look kid, it's rough I get it. Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia have given you a second chance already. Just give it some time."

"I still want to travel with you."

"Who even told you about that?" I chuckled.

Luke gave me a small smile. "I never told anyone this but I did die when you took Kronos out of me."

My eyebrows shot up in surprise. "What?"

He nodded. "Yeah, I was dead for about several minutes. In that time I met a powerful being who told me you traveled through worlds."

I cursed under my breath. "This powerful being… did she happen to be wearing a dress with swirling patterns on it?"

Luke look startled. "Yeah how did you know?"

"She's my mother."

Luke sputtered. "Lady Chaos… she's your mother?"

"I had forgotten you weren't there when she revealed that. But yeah, she is."

"Wha- so you were a demigod like us?"

"At some point I think so yeah. Even I don't know the full details of my birth. Why the secrecy though? You called her 'a powerful being' instead of just Lady Chaos."

"She told me not to reveal to anyone that she had spoken to me." He said sheepishly.

"Typical… did she give you a reason?"

"For what?"

"She hinted that I traveled through worlds didn't she? She had to have had a reason."

"She didn't say much, only that you traveled worlds and that you yourself were looking for something."

I sighed, leave it to my mother to reveal one of my secrets. I had a feeling she wanted me to take the kid for some reason. I looked over to the blond haired demigod and sighed again.

"She shouldn't have told you that but now that she has I'll have to change some things. If you really want to come with me then you better train up. The worlds I travel to usually have no shortage of assholes wanting to kill you."

"So you're bringing me with you?!" Luke smiled.

"No," the smile faded. "I'm thinking about it. As should you. Leaving this world is a big choice. You may get hurt or worse, die."

Luke shook his head. "I'm not afraid of dying. I just want to find purpose in my life again."

"Fair point. That was my original goal when I started traveling worlds."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Now look at me." I chuckled. "I got shanghaied into a throne, I have two headstrong women at my side and twin daughters are growing faster than I had hoped."

"What do-"

"I'm saying that traveling is going to come with unexpected developments. So if you're really willing to travel then be ready for the randomest shit to happen to you."

Luke smirked. "You're really not like the other gods."

"I sure fucking hope not. I can't stand most of them and the ones I can stand are now too scared of me to speak."

It was true, Poseidon, Hestia, and Hephaestus had been avoiding my eyes since Hades told them that I had dealt with two gods permanently. I felt bad every time I saw how wary Hestia was around me.

"I'll think about it Lord Corvinus." Luke stated as he got up and picked up his sword again.

The dummies activated and the demigod got back into his training. I watched him for a few more minutes before wandering off to Artemis' former cabin. A thought crossed my mind as I walked.

'Artemis is still in my Inventory. I'll probably have to bring her out and revive her. Damn, this could cause some problems.'

I stepped up to the front door and knocked.

"Who is it?!" Called a voice I didn't recognize.

I didn't really know how to announce myself so I just called for Lena.

"Lena, it's me… tell your merry band of man haters that I'm coming in."

There was some shuffling behind the door and the sound of glass breaking followed by a curse as someone tripped over something. I chuckled at the surreal experience of something that usually only happened in television but composed myself when the door swung open.

"We're not all man haters you know." Thalia frowned.

I grinned in return. "That implies that there is a number of you that are."

"Whatever, what do you need."

"I need to speak to Lena, is she in?"

Just then Lena opened the door wider and smiled. She stepped out and gave me a kiss before turning to Thalia.

"I won't be long, tell the girls to get ready for another training exercise in the forest."

Thalia nodded. "Sure, should we bring anything other that our gear?"

"No, just your bows and knives."

Thalia nodded again and disappeared back into the cabin. Lena took my offered arm and we began to walk towards the forest.

"What is it Blake?"

"I recently remembered that I had found the former goddess of the hunt in Tartarus?"

"Was she alright?" Lena asked in surprise.

"I have her in my Inventory at the moment. I was wondering if you had any good ideas on how to broach this subject with the rest of your huntresses."

Lena stopped walking. "You have a goddess in your Inventory?"

"Yeah, had to knock her out when she started acting strange."

Lena narrowed her eyes at me; "Acting strange how?"

"Well-"

"Blake… tell me you didn't kidnap a goddess for insulting you?"

"I didn't."

"Well then what is it?"

"Alright, first off I didn't kidnap her I rescued her. Secondly she was acting strange."

"Yes you've said that already. How was she acting?"

"She insinuated that I was going to 'have my way' with her."

Lena sputtered, "She what?"

I grinned. "She insulted me first, then insinuated that I was going to-"

"Yeah I got that."

"But the way she said it was almost like an invitation."

"Blake… what the hell."

"Hey don't look at me like that."

We began to walk again, Lena looked deep in thought.

"Maybe she was poisoned?"

"Dunno, I'm of the same mind. The air in Tartarus felt toxic. I have a feeling that it may affect other immortals in different ways."

"But what about Selene or the familiars?"

"I think we're different, something about our unique natures possibly negates the effects of the toxins and I don't think the familiars are affected at all."

Lena hummed, we had reached the edge of the tree line. She remained silent for a few more moments as we stepped into the forest. Finally she looked up and and said.

"We could always try and revive her first before bringing her to the huntresses."

"I was thinking the same thing, though I suspect the forest might not be such a great place to do so. There are monsters wandering around."

"True, how about your pocket dimension?"

"I could take her there, but you recently revealed that you could get out through godly teleportation. I don't want her escaping and causing trouble."

"Selene and the familiars could keep her in check. Isn't she in the pocket dimension now?"

"Yeah, she's currently spending some time there with the twins. How are they doing in the hunt by the way?"

"They're getting along with the other girls rather well. Though I suspect they might not like how regimented everything is."

"They've always been free spirited. Much like they dad." I grinned at Lena.

She rolled her eyes. "They're too much like you Blake. They hardly follow anyone's orders unless the come directly from me."

"Good, I don't want them turning into snobbish man haters. I just want them to stay away from boys."

"Oh? Is the big scary King of Olympus scared that his girls might find suitors?"

"Please," I scoffed "they may look the same age as most of these campers but they're hardly a decade old. I will eviscerate any boy that even thinks about looking at them funny."

Lena giggled. "You don't have to worry there. People are still too afraid of you to antagonize your daughters."

"Not my fault."

"Uhum, not your fault for showing them how stupidly powerful you are?"

"Touché."
