After stealthfully storing all the food and potions I could find into my inventory I followed Ralof over to the second door and we were lucky enough that this door opened to the other side of the rubble.
Looking to our right we could see stairs that went even further down.
Reading our swords we began to climb down the stairs before we heard the sounds of shouts and metal clashing.
Hearing this we hurried down even faster we soon found ourselves in some kind of small prison with a couple of cells with two Stormcloak soldiers fighting against two imperial soldiers.
But I froze for only a moment as I watched the hooded imperial soldier who wielded a dagger shoot out sparks of lightning from his hand!
But only for a moment, while the two stormcloak soldiers distracted the imperial soldiers we snuck behind the imperial soldiers and ran our swords through their backs and through their chests.
We watched as the two imperial soldiers fell to the ground.
Looking up to the stormcloaks I found that one of them had some burns from the magic while the other had some cuts and bruises.
"Are you both alright?" Ralof asked with concern.
"We are," The two replied.
Then Ralof asked one of them, "Was Jarl Ulfric with you?"
"No, I haven't seen him since the dragon showed up," replied the soldier.
Ralof frowned before looking around the room.
Looking behind a counter in the corner of the room I found an iron shield which I put on my right hand and there was also an iron mace, but I just stored that away into my inventory.
Walking over to the cells in the room Ralof and I stood before a cell.
"Wait a second. It looks like there's something in this cage. Ah, it's locked. See if you can get it open with some picks. We'll need those Septims when we get out."
Sitting in the cell was the corpse of some man in hooded robes with a strange book with a flame symbol on its cover, several gold coins on the ground, and a pouch of more coins on his side.
"Picks?" I asked.
"Yes, I think I saw some lockpicks in that bag over there on the table next to the book and dagger," Ralof told me pointing over to a small table near the center of the room.
Walking over I looked at the black book with a strange draconic symbol on its cover and stashed it into my inventory before opening the bag.
Inside I found two apples, a few lockpicks, and several 'Septims' as Ralof called the gold coins.
Luckily none of them saw me stashing the stuff in my inventory.
Using the lockpicks I managed to easily pick the lock, even though it was my first ever attempt at picking a lock.
While the other moved ahead and waited for me, I looted the robes, Septims, and book from the cage.
But, upon touching the book a message flashed across my vision from the system.
[You have encountered a Spell Tome, you have unlocked the attributes, Mana Capacity and Mana Control]
[A/N: Although in the elder scrolls universe it is called 'Magic' and 'Magicka' I just changed the terms to something more comfortable to write]
Putting this message behind me for later I soon caught up with the others in what appeared to be a dungeon with cages dangling from the ceiling with skeletons sitting in them.
And what appeared to be a hole in the wall that led to a tunnel was on the other side of the room.
As we walked through the tunnel we found ourselves in a large room filled with imperial soldiers!
And luckily we got the drop on them, killing a few of them before they could notice us.
With 4 of us and only 3 of them remaining it was simple to kill the remaining Imperial Soldiers, but the last two were a bit of a problem since they were using bows.
And sadly one of the Stormcloaks was badly injured by an arrow and was propped up against the wall with an arrow in his knee(hehe).
As we were about to leave the two stormcloak soldiers(including the injured one) said, "We will await here, perhaps Jarl Ulfric will escape through here."
"May Talos guide you," Prayed Ralof as he dragged me along leaving the two behind.
As we crossed over a bridge we could hear the dragon's roar echo through the tunnels as rubble collapsed behind us, blocking the path back to the two stormcloak soldiers.
"May Talos protect them," Ralof prayed once again.
Although I am not one for religion, I will not judge someone else for their own beliefs.
With no choice, we moved onward.
Soon we found ourselves walking along a small stream through a tunnel.
But we soon reached a dead with another pathway being a tunnel that goes down to our right.
Lying on some rocks was a skeleton with an iron knife in hand, a healing potion next to him with a Gold pouch.
"What's with this place and skeletons? Do the Imperials not know how to clean?" I asked looking over at Ralof who had a serious look.
He instantly shushed me and I was about to retort he grunted and pointed down the passageway to...what the fuck is wrong with this world?!
First, I was going to get executed for no good reason. Secondly, there was a fucking dragon that could wipe out this town, and now, GIANT SPIDERS?!
