Trust gesture

Akash wakes up, with blurred vision, blinks several times to clear his view. He looks around, G-one was sitting on a chair to his left, passed out with his head down on the bed. Moon was lying to his right on the bed instead of the couch, while the couch was being warmed up by Piyush. G-one senses the movement on the bed and rises up quickly and hugs Akash as soon as he sees him.

Akash: What is this? Finally turned yourself into gay?

G-one: (says nothing and keeps hugging)

Akash: (pats on G-one's back with a smile) Don't be stupid, termite. I won't leave you two this easily.

G-one: (quits hugging, sees stable prompt in his scan vision and a flickering blue aura around Akash's body which vanishes quickly) You feel anything different?

Akash: What do you mean? I feel normal as usual.

G-one: Any pain, any gut twist?

Akash: Does it seem like my gut is twisting, termite? (slips down the bed) My toothbrush is calling me.

G-one: (follows him) My vision says that you are all stable, but I wanna confirm it from you.

Akash: Your vision is perfect. I am breathing all good. So be at ease. And why is Moon on bed today?

G-one: She passed out with you as she poured some magic into you.

Akash: Magic? Huh! Yesterday you were denying the existence of magic, what crawled up your ass today?

G-one: I was lying. She does have magic. If she hadn't given you some, you would have been dead.

G-one: You said my vision is perfect. Well, it prompted death imminent status for you yesterday.

G-one: Actually, I didn't tell you two as you wouldn't believe me. But Moon has magic, because of which I brought her with me when I sensed it. And for some reason she seemed like she knew me. And I have some memories of her as well.

Akash: You got memories of her? But you said you didn't know her fuck. How do you have memories of her?

G-one: I don't know. I, don't know.

Akash: If she has magic, then maybe she has implanted them in your...

G-one: Don't stupid, if she could do that, she would have tempered with your and Piyush's memories as well.

G-one: I see a flickering aura around you. Anyone who has magic releases aura from their body. If you have magic, you can see it. But don't ask me how I can see that since I am a scientific creation. I wonder that myself too.

Akash: Damn it, you suck bruh. It is simple, you got some magic in yourself as well, why else could you see that. But, why don't I see any aura around you? However your eyes are twinkling over the glasses.

G-one: What? (checks his eyes with his hands)

Akash: Shouldn't it be constant?

G-one: It is because you don't have control over your magic as of now. You will get the hang of it soon enough.

Akash: Wait, let me focus, I will get a hold of it right now (shrinks his eyes to focus).

G-one: Damn it dude, you look like you are forcing your shit out.

Akash: What the! Now I don't see anything. Your eyes stopped glowing over the glasses. You distracted me. Damn it, now I can't get it back again.

G-one: Don't rush it. It will come naturally. And, it will be good that you don't tell anyone about it, specially Piyush.

Piyush: Huh! What don't tell Piyush, you bastard?

G-one: Son of a..

Akash: I got sick of eating something yesterday, he wanted me not to tell you that.

Piyush: What else could get you sick, crazy fuck? I already know.

G-one: (brushing with sparks all around his mouth)

Akash: Hahahaha!

Piyush: (punches Akash) Bastard, because of you two our Maggie party got cancelled yesterday. Damn it.

Akash: (holds his stomach but there was no pain) What! It doesn't hurt. Amazing!

Piyush: (picks up his brush) G-one, finish up quickly and get something cooked. We will continue the Maggie party tonight.

G-one: (brushing) Hmm!

Akash: Hey, Piyush, hit me once more.

Piyush: What? Your brain has slipped or something.

Akash: I am serious. I wanna get hit, come on.

Piyush: Get away from me. The sickness from last night is still there. He became a masochist, crazy bitch.

Akash: Yes, yes I am a masochist. Now indulge me.

Piyush: Get the fuck away, creep. Let me brush.

G-one walks out and see Moon still sleeping on the bed. He crouches near her head. Slowly, he slides his two fingers on her cheeks, pushing hairs on her face behind the ears.

G-one: (smiles) Thankyou, my angel. You saved a heartbeat of mine. How long will you sleep like this? Wake up. I wanna hear your voice.

Moon: Really! (opens her eyes).

G-one: You! You are awake?

Moon: From when you were hugging Akash.

G-one: What happened to your aura, it is very faint.

Moon: Well, I didn't have much magic to begin with. And last night, I spend a good amount it. So I feel weak. But don't worry, I will regain it slowly. I got my tree friends, though not many but enough.

G-one: Sorry, I couldn't do anything last night.

Moon: (smiles) You weren't supposed to. It was my job. So don't blame yourself.

G-one: Thankyou.

Moon: How much do I need to talk?

G-one: Meaning?

Moon: You said you wanted to hear my voice.

G-one: (flustered) I..I think it is enough. You should get up, if you think you can.

Moon: You just wanted to hear that much. And I can move, it's not like I have used up all my magic. I had collected enough.

G-one: Collected!

Moon: Hmm! And what about the Maggie thing you were cooking last night?

G-one: It will be done tonight.

Moon: I should get myself washed up.

G-one: I will get breakfast ready.

Moon: Ok (walking towards the washroom).

Piyush: (comes out of the washroom followed by Akash) You are awake. Good, I thought you will be sleeping the whole day. And why did you faint? Huh!

Moon: I was tired. That's why.

Piyush: Wow! One goddess you are! (walks away).

Akash: (rubbing his hands in the towel) He is mental. And thankyou for the last night, (winks with a low five with Moon).

Moon: You better be (smiles), hero.

Akash: Here (hands over the towel).

Piyush: Hey Akash, sweep the room for me. It's been sometime.

Akash: Excuse me dude, I just woke up from a sickbed.

Piyush: My dick, which sick person craves for punches after waking up from a sickbed? Don't tell me the fuck. I am going to help G-one with the cooking, get it over with before you go to bath.

Akash: Fine, termite.

Moon covers her eyes from the sun shining on her face.

Moon: Oh wow, sun is bright today.

G-one: You are regaining your magic, right?

Moon: Yeah yeah, but I don't know why can't I recover it quickly. I think it must have something to do with my elements.

G-one: What is this elements concept?

Piyush: (walks to them) Elements like air, water, fire etc, right? Ask me, I can give you best explanation about the elements on Earth.

Moon: It's not Earth's elements I am talking about. I was referring to mine.

Piyush: Your elements! When did you purchase them?

Moon: I didn't need to purchase them. They were already mine.

Piyush: Listen to her, am I supposed to laugh at that?

Moon: Shut up, you don't know anything of it. Let me explain.

Piyush: What did you say? Let me give names of all the elements on Earth.

Moon: Not Earth's, I am talking about mine.

Piyush: Again you are spitting out nonsense. First hear the names then say. Listen, first air, then water, fire, earth and space.

G-one: Wait a minute, I think you missed one.

Piyush: What? Isn't there supposed to be five?

G-one: You said five names? Sorry I wasn't counting. Did you say space?

Piyush: Something in your ears like (shows middle finger).

G-one: Have in your mouth.

Moon: You both are wrong. There is supposed to be nine elements.

Piyush: She is crazy than I thought. Nine elements, which science teaches about nine elements.

Moon: Not your science, that's for sure.

G-one: (counting on his fingers) Nine, four more elements that I am not aware of. Huh! What would that be, Moon?

Piyush: Don't tell me you believe her?

Moon: (snigger) He does, now go chew on your nails. I don't wanna waste time telling about it to someone who calls me crazy.

Piyush: Hold on, I will take it, just for general knowledge.

Moon: (shows her tongue)

Piyush: Tell me, sis.

G-one: Hmm, some godly information. I should definitely learn about it.

Akash: (looking at the sun constantly with bare eyes)

Lily and other appear out of the intersection.

Lavangi: Hey guys. Good morning.

G-one: Oh, to you too.

Lavangi: What are you all bickering about?

Piyush: She isn't telling me about the elements.

Lavangi: You don't know about the elements. What are you, a kid in diaper?

Piyush: You are a kid in diaper.

Everyone laughs. Akash focuses his view towards the group, everything appeared relatively slow to him. He blinks rapidly to normalise his view. Lily laughing, cuts a look at Akash who was behind everyone walking alone, she turns her face away but then she realises the aura around him, she looks at him again but doesn't see the aura this time.

Akash: (comes to his senses, smiles) Hey everyone. There she is, my heroine (jumps towards Lily).

Lavangi: Yeah, the show started. What were you doing hiding behind? You are ok in the head right?

Akash: I am feeling great. See, (posing)

Lavangi: Ya, you are normal all right, monkey (laughs).

Lily: (staring at Akash)

Akash: Is something wrong Lily?

Lily: Has something happened to you?

Akash: Happened? Nothing.

Simar: Guys guys, see, I counted it and they are five.

Lavangi: You say it like people walk around with them in their pockets.

Moon: Ya, metal, time, sound and ice.

G-one: Hmm, nine, makes sense.

Piyush: You talking crazy. They are supposed to be basic foundation of almost everything on Earth. These are extras.

Moon: They make up materials too, right.

Piyush: What object time makes up? Show me. Where are metals in my body? Show me. Huh!

Moon: Time makes up almost everything. And metal makes up utensils, tools and various objects.

Piyush: Oh come on, I see no object made of time. And utensils and tools are made by human beings.

G-one: But by using them. Well, you can't use time to make into object, but you use time to do something whether it is making or destroying, right.

Mia: And you use metal to craft utensils and tools, if I am not mistaken.

Piyush: I don't know, I will count only five, hell.

Moon: You are so, egotistical.

G-one: Let's keep them in extra then. Let's find out if we can really categorise them with the basic elements.

Piyush: Why not.

It's the lunch time, Simar and Lavangi were talking to themselves, and at the moment, Akash left with Lily for the grounds.

Lavangi: (thinking) I will surely check his bag out today. I think he keeps his phone in the bag while he goes out to play. There must be something he would be hiding in it.

Simar: (thinking) I am gonna place my tasted chocolate in his bag, and when he wil eat it, I will accomplish my mission. I guess that will be counted as a k..k..kiss, right?

Akash pulls Lily with him to the edge of the football field and falls flat on the ground.

Akash: (lying on the ground) Wah! Feels good. Come on, get my pillow over here.

Lily: Akash, aren't you getting way too greedy?

Akash: (grabs her hand and pull her over) You should have known by now, how greedy I am?

Lily: (falls on him, but quickly moves and sits to the side, blushing) Don't do such things when in public.

Akash: Oh sorry about that, then, can I do it when no one is looking?

Lily: (hiding her eyes, flushed) May, maybe.

Akash: (gets up with a happy face) Did, did I really hear you say yes?

Lily: I said maybe.

Akash: That means yes, right.

Lily: (smiles) Maybe.

Suddenly he sees a ball flying fast for his face, his eyes glow for sec and the ball hangs in mid air for a bit and then falls down.

Player: What? What happened? Shit!

Akash: Ohh! Then you did do it on purpose everytime (goes and picks up the ball).

Player: What? No!

Akash: Well! Oh shit! (aims the ball on him).

Player: Wait, wait a minute! (turns and start running).

Akash: Too bad, you won't escape this time, termite.

His eyes glow again for a sec and the player stops at his place.

Player: (stunned) What the hell!

Akash: Hah! (hits him with the ball hard), headshot! Yeah!

Lily behind, saw the aura around Akash as soon as he activated his power and disappear as he deactivated it.

Simar covertly approaches the boys sports room. She hides behind the edge, and peeps in, no one was inside. Lavangi was taking cover behind the other wall at the start of the corridor.

Lavangi: (whispers) Look at her, she thought she could escape me while blending in with the crowd as the class ended. I knew exactly where she would go. Her mother gave her the same advice as my mother again, figures.

Simar: (stumbles inside)

Lavangi: (reaches there with light steps, as she slowly gets in, Simar pulls her, hiding behind the wall) Woah!

Simar: I knew I won't be able to shake you off that easily.

Lavangi: So the day has finally come when you started shaking me off.

Simar: You won't let me go like that. So, I had to think about something.

Lavangi: Well, your bad luck, I was coming to this same place.

Simar: I know, I just wanted to be here before you. That was the big idea.

Lavangi: You jiggly jugs, you came here to dig out a secret of Piyush, haven't you? So that you can blackmail him later on.

Simar: What? No, that's what filthy bitches do. I won't stoop that low, come on.

Basketball crew was playing, or trying to play, but the ball keeps stopping on its own, momentarily.

Player 3: Is the ball drunk or what?

Akash was blinking indiscriminately, trying to gather his senses. He was staggering along the court, as everything goes slow everytime the ball gains speed. G-one notices his aura flickering.

Ana: Hey, self proclaimed rival of mine. It looks like you are not doing very good today.

Akash: Oh no, you are mistaken. I can do you in with my eyes closed, lost kid.

Ana: You cheeky little!

G-one: (whispers to Akash) Hey buddy, I am not gonna lie, but seems you don't have a good control over your newfound abilities yet. I see your aura flickering.

Akash: I feel like that too. What should I do? Tell me, you already have that in your pocket.

G-one: I don't know man, I am trying to get a hang of my power too you know. Just like you.

Akash: Ya right, then what now? This way I will ruin the game, man.

G-one: I think, you should go home before us today and try to understand your powers. I don't think it would be similar to mine as magic is involved in it.

Akash: I better go then, dude. See you at the room (walks away).

Piyush: Hey, G-one, what happened to Akash?

G-one: I think he still got something left from the last night so he is going home first.

Ana: Is he alright?

G-one: He is ok, he will be back to give you trouble tomorrow. He is just feeling a little down today.

Player 3: (tosses the ball up in the air) It seems fine though.

Player 4: I thought it was lacking some air.

Manas: Hey, where is Akash going?

G-one: He is not feeling well today, so he is heading back home.

Manas: Really? Akash is not feeling well! I can't believe this.

Player 3: May he recovers soon. Let's continue then, let's see how your team fairs without Akash today.

Akash walks slowly towards the entrance of the building. The football players were knocking the ball around on the field.

F player: Hey Akash!

Akash: Yo, dude.

F player: What's up? Heading home early?

Akash: Ya, something urgent came up.

F player: Ok, take care buddy (shoots the ball).

Akash: (everything slows down again, distorting Akash's view a little, the glow in his eyes cancel the speed of the ball and the ball falls immediately).

F player: Hey, what was that?

F player 2: What kind of shot was that? It was crazy.

F player: That wasn't intentional man. I mean, I am surprised too you know.

Akash: (stumbles) If I stay here, I will loose my footing.

Akash rushes in, breathes on the doors edge, when he hears girly sounds coming from inside the sports room.

Lavangi: (pressing Simar on the wall) I will bite your nipples.

Simar: What is this Lavangi? Back off.

Lavangi: I won't let you make Piyush eat it before me. It's mine. You promised to share everything of yours with me.

Akash: What? What is this conversation about?

He looks back to find Simar and Lavangi on his tail, he reaches the gate, but the football bouncing in the air, activates his powers and he staggers again when Lavangi and Simar catch him from behind and pull him inside, pinning him on the ground.

Lily: Lavangi and Simar didn't show up yet.

Moon: I wonder what the both of them are doing?

Mia: They will be here, don't worry.

Akash: (pinned on the ground, Lavangi sitting on him twisting his right arm) Ow, ow, ow, ow! Wait, atleast listen to me first.

Simar: (grabbing his both legs) You perv, why were you spying on us, huh?

Akash: Easy, if you will make such sounds in an open room, anyone passing by would be keen to know what is going inside.

Lavangi: That means you heard everything, punk.

Some students passed by whispering on the scene. They get embarrassed.

Akash: (shy) Let's discuss this like civil people, shall we?

Lavangi: (flushed, gets up, coughs) Good idea, let's get back to the sports room.

Simar: Don't try to run again.

Akash: (gets up, wiping dirt off his shirt) Ya, as soon as I will show my back to you, you will jump on me again, I know.

Lavangi: Let's go.

They get back to the sports room, Lavangi pushes Akash up the wall grabbing his collar.

Akash: (nervous) Hold it Lavangi, we are all friends here. Take it easy.

Lavangi: You made a big mistake eavesdropping on us, jerk. Did Piyush set you up to this?

Simar: Don't be so rough, Lavangi.

Akash: Nah, I was just coming to get my bag, Piyush has nothing to do with it.

Lavangi: Either way, you overheard our conversation. So you will have to hang.

Akash: (scared) No mam, please. I swear, I didn't do it in purpose. I promise I won't tell anyone what happened between you two here.

Lavangi: You better not, especially Piyush. You understand?

Akash: Clear as sky.

Lavangi: How should I trust you?

Simar: He promised, Lavangi, isn't that enough?

Lavangi: No, it is not.

Akash: Ok, ok, I will help you two in conquering Piyush, how does that sound?

Lavangi: (slowly brings him down) Sounds promising. Go on.

Akash: But I have some conditions as well.

Simar: Conditions!

Lavangi: You think you are in any position...

Simar: We agree, we agree.

Lavangi: Simar!

Akash: Then, let me say, I know both of you like him. So, I will help you both individually on whatever you ask me. And second, when one is making her move on Piyush, another one can't interfere. Everyone will have to take turn.

Lavangi: Excuse me! I understand the first one, but the second one sounds stupid.

Simar: Why so Akash?

Akash: Well, it might sound stupid to you, but I don't like two best friends and two of my good friends fighting each other for my best friend. This way, the best one who makes Piyush fall, wins, it will reduce damage to your bond to some extent, I suppose.

Simar and Lavangi were moved.

Simar: Akash, I don't know what to say.

Akash: Why? Was I not clear somewhere? Sorry about that.

Lavangi: (smiles) We agree, whole heartedly. Right Simar?

Simar: (looks at Lavangi and smiles) Yah, undoubtedly.

Akash: Now that sounds good (smiles).

Lavangi: Anything else?

Akash: Ya, and the third one is, I will help you with any question or task regarding Piyush, but the success of your efforts depends on you both alone, so don't blame me for failing and I won't reveal anyone's plan to anyone so don't even try to force me.

Lavangi: Reasonable.

Simar: Were you planning this from the start?

Akash: Well, (grins) I really wanted to help you two, I was just waiting for one of you to ask, so I already came up with these terms and conditions, because I won't assist one of you alone, both of you are my friends, right. It won't be fair.

Simar: Akash, you are as sweet as you look.

Akash: (blushes) No, I am not that sweet. It's just because you are friends.

Lavangi: She is right. I thought you were just a stupid monkey, bouncing around your heroine, but you are a good monkey.

Akash: Still a monkey, well anyway, we have a trust gesture.

Lavangi: Trust gesture!?

Simar: What is that?

Akash: G-one came up with this, it is a mark of trust to a family member. We call it the tag of trust or TOT for short. Raise your fist, back of it facing me.

Lavangi: Like this (raises her fist).

Akash: Yah, Simar you too.

Simar: Ok (raises her fist).

Akash: (strikes a TOT with them) Here, now you are a part of the family.

Lavangi: Part of the family?

Akash: Ya, and rest assured, this trust will never be broken. Cause if I did G-one and Piyush will break me, if they ever caught a wind of it, that is (giggles).

Lavangi: Family!

Simar: We are, family!

Lavangi and Simar look at each other and smile all satisfied.
