The stand for righteousness

Piyush hiding outside the sports room, heard the conversation of Akash and the two girls. He leaves, smiling for the basketball court.

Piyush: (walking towards the court)

G-one: Is he gone ok?

Piyush: (waves his hand) He is fine.

Sports room...

Lavangi: Why are you leaving so early today?

Simar: Is everything ok?

Akash: Nothing, just some magic happening with me.

Simar: What magic?

Akash: Nothing, just my stomach is brewing a spell, so I gotta go. Tell Lily that I will meet her on the chat tonight.

Lavangi: That's why it is said that eat with care.

Akash: Ok, go now, I gotta change. See you all tomorrow.

Lavangi: Yes, yes. Let's go Simar. We will be starting our conquering mission from tomorrow, right?

Akash: Ya, sure. Better remember the conditions.

Simar: We won't forget such beautiful conditions, don't worry.

Akash: That will be great. Now go, I need to hurry.

Simar: (pushes Lavangi out with her) Let's go, move.

Lily and Simar arrive at the football field where the girls were busy with their practice.

Moon: Why are you so late? We have been waiting for long.

Mia: We have been just shooting. When are we gonna run with the ball?

Lavangi: Sorry about that. Simar had an upset stomach that's why,

Simar: (flustered) Why, why are you smearing me?

Lavangi: Just, (smiles) Go with it. Hahaha!

Lily: Ok, fine fine, let's make the most of the remaining time. Take your places.

Lavangi: Oh yeah, Lily, we met Akash on the way, he has gone home for he was not feeling very good. He told us to say this to you.

Lily: He is not feeling well!?

Moon: Why would he ask just to tell that to her only, hah? We all go together walking side by side, shouldn't we be knowing that as well?

Simar: She jumbled the words. He told us to tell everyone.

Lavangi: Yeah, sorry, hahaha.

Moon: Don't worry, he will be fine. He might have some leftovers from his last night choking. Let the magic set in, he will be all better soon enough.

Lily: Last night, did something happen?

Moon: Did he not tell you?

Lily: No, he said nothing about it, he said Maggie and...

Nikita: (yells) Will I be just standing here? Or should I go?

Mia: Let's move, we will talk later.

Akash was walking down the road, towards the room. People were passing by, busy in their own worlds. A car sped by and his power activates stoping the car at its place and staggering him simultaneously. The driver peeps out of his car window to see if he burst his tire or something. Akash tries to keep his footing, when he balances himself he looks back and finds himself quiet ahead from where he stumbled. He was surprised and confused, he quickly steps towards his room.

G-one and others were running fiercely on the court, dribbling and bouncing with the basketball. Vinay and a few of his lackeys walked towards the court.

Player 2: Hey Manas, look (indicates Vinay).

Manas: Damn it, why again.

Piyush: (spits) look at him, gutless punk, walking around with his minion. Gotta be the Ra-one of our college.

G-one: (slaps Piyush) What the hell are you doing on the court, you bastard?

Piyush: (rubs his cheek) Damn it, crazy fuck, I just spit out air, not actual pit.

G-one: Damn you.

Piyush: Why!?

Manas: (stands before everyone)

Vinay: (waves his hand) Hey, my man. How you doin?

Manas: What are you doing, here?

Vinay: Why? We came to play ofcourse.

Manas: You gotta be kidding.

Vinay: This is not a joke. We really wanna join the basketball team.

Manas: No way, I don't think so.

Vinay: Why is that? Isn't the court meant for everyone?

Manas: Yes, but this period is supposed to be for only first years.

Vinay: Oh my, look who is talking.

Boys behind Vinay laugh.

Vinay: Before you say that, my big man, Manas, look around and then talk. You all five belong to the second year, all of you. And don't think I didn't notice Ms. untouchable behind you. Just those three behind, the hot head and the one with the glasses are in first year if I am not wrong, wait, where is the third one.

Lackey 1: Looks like he is groping around his girlfriend somewhere in the corner.

Lackeys laugh. Piyush gets pissed and steps forward but G-one grabs his hand. He furiously looks at G-one and sees his eye flinching in rage as well. He calms down and stands back. Ana notices both of them twitching in anger.

Manas: We all belong to the same department, seeing that there were not any players for the basketball team, we joined up to train in this period. So, I think we don't need to hear anything from anyone who has never even stepped on a court.

Vinay: Woah! How did you come up with that? You think there is no argument for that. Well, what is Miss untouchable doing here with you? And why is a girl playing among the boys anyway? Is she trying to grow up a dick?

Laughs....

Ana boiled up by the remark. But the fumes rising from the two standing before her overwhelmed her anger. Ana heard the whisper coming from them.

G-one: (serious) What did he say?

Piyush: He said she is not cut out to play basketball, in a very crazy cruel way. Should I break his neck?

Ana was standing stiff listening to their conversation.

Manas: Think before you speak Vinay, she is here to learn. Atleast she is taking initiative to play basketball being a girl. That is commendable. She might stand a women basketball team to represent our college soon enough. So, control your tongue.

Vinay: Easy, easy my man, I didn't think that far ahead. Well, after hearing that, I don't think you will deny us from playing with you all. Since we are here to learn as well, you see.

Manas: I am not against of you all playing basketball. But, we can't have you play with us.

Vinay: And why is that?

Manas: It's because you got history with three of our core members, which might get ugly going forward. So, I would rather avoid that.

Vinay: Oh! But how are we gonna learn then? I am sure they can handle themselves, I know I can.

Manas: Do you think they can? (moves aside to show G-one and Piyush).

Vinay: (sees G-one and Piyush with a forced smile on their faces and muscles tightened) They seem alright to me.

Manas: Listen, it is best that you talk to the principal and ask him for a coach who would help you with it if you really wanna stick to the game, that is. We can't have our practice disrupted because of your loose tongue. So, move out.

Vinay: (gets serious) Enough with being a goody to shoes, looks like it won't work. Well, then settle this in a manly way, what do you say?

Manas: Is there is something to say?

Vinay: How about we play a match.

Manas: I told you think before you say.

Vinay: I have thought it through. Let's have a friendly match, take your best players and I will bring some players from my department.

Manas: You got basketball players in your department?

Vinay: Ya, some who go to stadiums to train themselves, they would rather train under the coach then to fool around on the court like you all.

Manas: Why don't you go play with them then?

Vinay: You don't understand, do you? I will come straight now, I have endured enough of your merry hoping and bouncing on the court, I wanna snuff this cheerfulness out. I have some history with some of your core members, you see.

Piyush: We are ready.

Manas: Piyush!

Vinay: The lava burst out of the hothead. I have been waiting, say it again.

Manas: Don't be an idiot. They are trained players.

Piyush: (walks towards Vinay and stand before him) We will do it. Bring it. What's the deal?

Vinay: Now we are talking, straight to the topic. I like this. Well, the deal is simple, if we win, we will overtake your court. You will have to give up on basketball.

A storm hits others behind Piyush.

Player 3: That some serious gamble. I don't think you should go with it Piyush.

Player 4: That is ridiculous. If we loose, we loose everything we have worked for till now.

Player 2: We are staking too much. This is not good.

Piyush: And what if we win?

Lackey 2: Given that if you win, that is. Hahaha.

Piyush: I asked what if we win?

Ana: (walks to G-one) G-one, stop him, he is making a mistake.

G-one: (looks at her with sharp eyes) Ana, this is not a mistake, it became fair as soon as he insulted you without knowing why you are on the court.

A wind blows Ana's hair as she gaped at G-one. Some players playing on the football field noticed the tensed atmosphere on the court.

FP 1: Hey, looks like Piyush and others are having trouble with something.

FP 2: Come on, we should go and ask G-one and help them if they need it.

Few players reach G-one.

FP 1: G-one, everything alright?

FP 2: You are not having a fight here, are you?

FP 3: Don't worry, we will get in on this with you.

G-one: Thanks bro, but Piyush will handle that. It is just a discussion for a friendly match tomorrow.

FP 2: Oh, I see. Ok then, just give as a sign if you need us. See ya.

G-one: I am grateful. Play hard.

Ana: You made quiet some friends.

G-one: I don't talk very much with others. I got connected to them through Piyush and Akash.

Ana: Hmm! It is visible.

G-one: Really?

Piyush: Let me bring it out then, if we win, you will never show your face around this court again, nobody of your department will.

Vinay: That is stupid, why are you dragging my entire department into this?

Piyush: Well, (stretches his arm) You dragged my entire department into this, I got only so much basketball players in my department. If we give up on it, that means our entire department gives up on it. So it is fair to keep your department in as well or do you think you would loose?

Lackey 2: Who do you think you are talking to, punk?

Lackey 3: We will not loose to you amateurs.

Vinay: We agree. We will cease interfering with you all if we loose, only until I am in this college. After that, it is not in my hand.

Piyush: That would be enough. Is that a man's word.

Vinay: A man's word, yes.

Piyush: Good, so when will we do it?

Vinay: Tomorrow, at this hour.

Piyush: See you then.

Vinay: (starts walking) Get ready to eat shit.

Manas: Piyush, you are out of your mind. We have no idea who are we up against? And you put our entire game on the stakes. From where did you find such confidence?

Piyush: From you all, ofcourse.

Player 2: From us?

Piyush: Ya, may be they have an amazing coach to train them, maybe they have acquired skills. But we, we trained on our own, we learned everything on our own. There was no body to guide us. We grew ourselves. Nobody showed us the right way, we found that on our own. So tell me, who is a strong player, a player who learned his skill from someone else, or a player who hammered himself with the skills which he learned by himself.

Player 3: We are.

Player 4: Yes, we are.

Player 2: We will win, we will.

Piyush: Come on, say it, louder.

Everyone: (jumps) We will win.

Manas: (sighs touching his forehead).

G-one: (smiles with his chest inflated proudly)

Ana: (looks at G-one standing proudly)

Akash was sitting on the bed in a meditative pose, eyes closed and hands on the knees of his folded legs. A can was standing just before him, right on the bed. He breathes out slowly, opens his eyes, picks the can with one hand and tosses it up into the air. He stops the can with his power, eyes shined blue for a while. The can hung mid air for a sec, then began falling again with the same speed. He again activates his power, the shining blue eyes and again the can hangs mid air, but this time he catches it. He smiles wickedly. Suddenly Piyush walks in with Moon. He quickly keeps his bag down on the bed.

Piyush: Sit, fast. Show me, which one it is?

Moon: (puts a finger on her left eye) This one (crouches).

Piyush: I don't know what you do. How did you get dirt in your eye (checks her eye)?

Moon: I was just looking at the what you call it, yes, a car, coming towards me. The dirt went in as it passed by me. That stupid thing (forces her eye open with one finger).

Piyush: I wish it isn't a bug. Or it will bite your eye ball.

Moon: No way! take it out. Hurry!

Piyush: Stay still, wait a sec.

Moon: Quickly!

Piyush: (blows) It is dirt, let me blow it out. Calm down.

Moon: Don't scare me like that, jerk.

Piyush: Here, it is out.

Moon: (stands, blinking quickly) I don't feel it anymore. I think it is out.

Piyush: That's what I said. (Looks at Akash seeing all this) What are you looking at like that, crazy shit?

Akash: Nothing. I was just admiring the beautiful brother and sister love.

Piyush: Shut up, (notices the can in his hand) You piece of shit, you said you weren't feeling well, that's why you came home early, and here you are enjoying cold drink alone. You crazy bastard.

Akash: (hides the can behind him) Wait, you got it wrong, I picked it up off the road.

Piyush: You idiot, you picked up a can off the road. You crazy stupid, throw it out, now.

Akash: Oh my god, take it easy, I was gonna.

Moon: The madness began, as soon as he recuperated.

Akash: I picked it up for playing, you damn fantasy princess.

Piyush: (punches Akash in the guts) Throw it out, crazy fuck or I will smash your pretty face in.

Akash: (starts clinging on Piyush) Ya, ya, hit me as hard as you can. Please.

Piyush: (pushing him back) What the fuck is wrong with you? Get the hell away, shit fuck.

Akash: Please, make me your punching bag.

Piyush: (snatches the can throws it away).

Akash: My can, I still had some left in it, damn it.

Piyush: You said you picked it up off the road. You bastard, you lied to me, it was your can. Son of a bitch.

Both begin wrestling.

Moon: Cut it out, already. Oh Mother Durga, please, do something.

Kajal was sitting before the cctv monitor sucking on a lollipop, fumbling through the backup videos, focusing on Subhu.

G-one: (walks in) Mam, it's about time to pull down.

Kajal: G-one! Can you come and help me out with something?

G-one: Yes, what is it?

Kajal: One of my cameras is glitching, can you fix it?

G-one: Let me see, (sees Subhu zoomed in on the screen).

Kajal: (flushed) Oh! Wait, I was inspecting the backup video on this piece. Let me bring the home window. Ya, here.

G-one: (locates the glitching screen) Is this the one?

Kajal: Yeah. I was playing with the settings one day and since then it started distorting like this. I think it is my fault.

G-one: (inspecting settings) Hmm! I don't see any disturbance here. It must be a device malfunction or the wire must have gotten loose or something. Where is the setup box?

Kajal: Here, to the corner top.

G-one: (pulls the chair and stands on it to reach the box) Mam, keep your eyes on the screen, tell me if something changes. I hope it does.

Kajal: Ok, (looks at the screen).

G-one activates his scan vision and his eyes flashes blue, he could see the veins through the cables and data passing through it. He locates a cable dangling by an edge. He slowly takes his hand behind the box and pushes the cable back in.

G-one: (while interacting with the cable) I am not that well acquainted with these devices. It would be best to contact the experts if I fail. For the moment, I would try to do what I can (pushes the cable back in). Do you see a change Mam?

Kajal: The glitch is still here, G-one, nothing's changed.

G-one: (thinks) It is a device defect then. Maybe I can fix it.

G-one plugs out the cable and sends electricity from his fingers through the cable to the camera and connects with it. Now he could see what the camera was seeing, but glitch was interfering.

Kajal: Looks like I will have to call the repairman. You can get down G-one.

A bar runs in G-one's vision titled fixing. As the bar completes G-one opens his shining eyes and plugs the cable back in.

Kajal: (notices the glitch disappear) Hold it, I don't see the distortion anymore. You did it.

G-one: (gets down) Well, the wire was a little loose from the box, nothing much.

Kajal: Thankyou handsome, you saved my money and time. I gotta give you something.

G-one: No, I am fine.

Kajal: Ask me, if I could give you, I will.

G-one: No, it was just a loose... (looks at her waist, thinks) Wait, this is my chance. I can ask her to let me touch her waist. She will let me right? Oh my god! Wow (makes a lewd face).

Kajal: (sees G-one staring at the lollipop she was holding in her hand which he was not) You want my lollipop.

G-one: (drooling) Ya, ya I want your curvy... Wait, what?

Swati: It is getting late, where are Madam and G-one?

Subhu: (shaking his hands) I saw Mam going in to the cabin. G-one is not on the counter, he must have gone to Mam.

Swati: Go and see what they are doing. Call them out before we get more late.

Subhu: Yup, (wipes his hands on his shirt, heads towards the cabin).

As he closes to the cabin, he could hear a lewd conversation coming from the cabin. He stands outside, pointing his ear towards it.

Kajal: Open it, open your mouth G-one.

G-one: Mam, I said I am good. Please.

Kajal: No way, I saw you drooling over it. I will push it in your mouth. So come here.

G-one: That doesn't sound very good. What if Subhu hears it?

Kajal: What would he do? I am just rewarding you for your hardwork.

G-one: He works hard too, you know. Why don't you give it to him? It will make him happy, more than me.

Kajal: Don't be a kid, I am giving it to you right now, so take it.

G-one: Mam, oh no (gulp).

G-one stumbles out of the cabin with the end stick of the lollipop in his mouth and sees Subhu standing there with clutching his fist. His jaw hangs and the stick falls down.

G-one: (looks into the cabin and then at Subhu, shivering) You see, Subhu, it's not what you think.

Subhu: Damn you, G-one, how could you? I have been working here way longer than you and I never went into the cabin.

G-one: Huh! What?

Subhu: But you sleazy bastard, you beat me in that. I am supposed to be your senior, damn it. Shit! I wanna look inside the cabin too.

G-one: (yells) That's what you are mad about, fucking hell.

Subhu: (wraps his arm around G-one and whispers) Well, I am confused, who was sucking whose exactly? Cause the conversation seemed kinda flipped.

G-one: No one was sucking nothing, dickhead. Here (picks up the lollipop stick), she forced. lollipop in my mouth.

Subhu: Oh! Hahahaha, here I thought Mam had something which she was not supposed to have.

G-one: Doesn't that mean I was about to suck something which I wasn't supposed to?

Kajal: (comes out of the cabin) What are you two doing, standing there getting all buddy buddy? Subhu, come on, flip the switch. Swati, get the keys.

Subhu: Let's go, man.

They walk out, pulling the shutter behind them down. G-one turned towards his way waving them good night. Ana was still spying on him hiding from a corner. Buddy was sitting at the edge of the supermarket as usual and followed G-one with a pat on his head.

G-one: (walking with buddy) What should we eat today?

Buddy: (bark)

Ana pursued them silently. G-one got some chicken fries from a shop and took it to the park. He sat on the bench and Buddy kept running around in circles. Ana was watching all this from a distance. They ate together, suddenly G-one went to the swings and began swinging alone, Buddy sat down and looked at him for a while then climbs the other swing and tries to balance himself. G-one stops and helps Buddy, he puts Buddy by his stomach on the flat surface, then pushes the swing. G-one laughs as how Buddy was sitting on the swing but he kept pushing the swing anyway. After some oscillations, Buddy got down and G-one waves him good bye, throwing the food package in the dustbin on the way out of the park. Ana turns around for her dorm as G-one reaches his room.

G-one enters the room, Akash was sitting before his laptop, chatting with his heroine, obviously. Piyush was fast asleep with Moon surprisingly today.

G-one: (puts his bag down) I see you are doing just fine, my man.

Akash: (turns his head) Yup, I got a good control over my ability.

G-one: What are you saying? Really?

Akash: I think so, atleast. Well, I got time to learn all about it.

G-one: Man, you are beating me in this.

Akash: That's the idea, to beat you, so at last I can say it was fun.

G-one: You say like you didn't enjoy many moments.

Akash: No bastard, I know you did when you fucked me.

G-one: I like the sound of that (goes into the kitchen).

Akash: (yells) King of termites! Bastard. One day I will definitely say it, it's been fun.

Akash turns to his laptop and types with outlandish speed, grins with glittering eyes.

They were walking for the college together as usual. The group in the front was talking about the elements and what they understood after some research. Akash and Lily walked behind, as usual busy in their couple chat.

Akash: You are looking gorgeous today.

Lily: This is how I always look.

Akash: You always look gorgeous.

Lily: (swats) Idiot, why are you pointing it out today (lock his arm)?

Akash: I just wanted to say that.

Lily: Akash!

Akash: Hmm!

Lily: I want to tell you something.

Lily: Maybe.

Akash: (runs towards them) Hey, I will hit G-one too, give me chance as well.

Lunch time,

Lily: (stands) I am finished, I am going.

Simar: You finished quickly.

Lily: I wasn't very hungry today. Akash, let's go.

Akash: (stuffing his mouth) Oh, yeah, yes, let's go (walks out with Lily).

Nikita: Lily and Akash are really hitting it off pretty good. I wonder when my horse will get on his four legs.

Piyush: (drinks waters nervously).

Lavangi: (whisper) Let's see whose grass this horse grazes.

Lily pulls Akash with her to the usual spot as always.

Lily: (sits and pats on the ground looking at Akash).

Akash: What? Oh, you want me to sit, well I was going to (sits beside her). So, (pulls her face by her chin towards himself) what has kept you on the edge today, huh?

Lily: (staring at him with worried eyes)

Akash: Oh my god, why are you looking at me like that? Did I do something to hurt you? I don't recall anything right now, but sorry if I did.

Lily: What are you hiding from me?

Akash: Hiding? From you? Did someone say something to you?

Lily: Is it that important to you that you can't even tell me?

Lily: Moon, she is, what should I say, I am not sure, is different. She gave me magic when I was sick.

Lily: This spirit, its name is Echo.

Akash: Echo, a foreign spirit, huh!

Akash: Why didn't you tell him to find someone else?

Lily: Akash!

Lily: You want someone else to suffer to save yourself.

Akash: Idiot, someone with magic, who can give him a sweet home to stay.

Lily: There is no one on this planet with magic, that's what he said.

Lily: (nods negative, and points towards her eyes) His eyes, I could see his blue eyes since I got this power. I know his eyes weren't blue before, I had seen them myself.

Akash: Ya, his eyes turned blue recently. Now almost everyone can see them. What the hell!

Lily: How did they turn permanently blue?

Akash: I, umm, don't know.

Lily: You are lying to me again. That incident, which involved a truck explosion, it's G-one's doing, isn't it?
