17 The Night of the Festival

After preparations were done Kyle and Ralph followed by Lina and Aiena, who was carrying Ryu in kart, come out of the mansion's main door. The butler and Helena were already standing beside Kyle's carriage, an extravagant-looking carriage with white color and golden lining and a symbol of Golden Rose on the gate, the symbol of Vanir's house.

Looking toward it, Lina asked in a cold voice while looking towards Ralph

"Where is our carriage? I don't remember discussing that we will be going in father's carriage,"

"Now now Dear, father said he got something called a baby special seat fixed in the carriage and wanted to see a baby sitting on it,"

After a few seconds of staring, Lina shrugged her shoulders as if she gave up and get into the carriage helped by Helena, and once everyone was on the carriage they departed.

While sitting on baby seat Ryu was feeling really comfortable and his thoughts were like

'Man, the biggest benefit of this seat is I can see this beautiful view, and it is a heck of comfortable.'

As he said view outside was beautiful, the homes and roads were decorated in the dark of night the silver-colored stars and other decorations with bright shiny colors were making it a sight to behold, and occasionally seeing people cast light ball magic was making it prettier.

But what people around the carriage were wondering about was how the lights of the ball become brighter when they pass near the carriage. Seeing Ryu enjoying in the baby seat, Kyle, who was sitting in front of him, pulled his cheeks and speak

"I really love my grandson; he is so cute, just like his mother. " before he could speak further, Ralph interjected

"Father, I have to disagree on that, I think the baby looks like me more. Our hair is the same color," when Ralph said that with smug Kyle stared him back with a look which seem to say

'Just shut the fu** up, and stick with the plan, you fool!!!'

Even Ryu was thinking 'Is this father of mine a fool? Can he not notice the bland appeal and be quiet, especially when they are partners in planning'. Strangely, it was Ryu and Kyle who nodded towards each other with instincts of understanding. Then, ignoring Ralph's stuff, Kyle continued

"Baby sure seems to love the baby special seat; it was a right choice to get it installed right Lina" Ryu smiled at this because of continuation of understanding vibe but Lina indifferently said

"My baby is smart and sits everywhere comfortably, Father,"

"Is that it? " Kyle answered and then become quiet. An awkward atmosphere sets inside the carriage and no one speaks further and Ryu thought.

'Well I guess, I will ignore this vibe and see decorations outside' and he kept enjoying the outside view until they reach the church, and as soon as he saw it Ryu become awed

'Man, this church looks more like a monument, what's with these lights and holy orbs everywhere in big size?' as he thinks Church was looking pretty beautiful.

A white castle-like main building covered in Light from top to bottom but it wasn't harsh on eyes but instead, give a feeling of holiness. But what Ryu was missing is that the area near him was causing more awe to people than the main building of the church was Ryu himself whose surroundings were shining brighter than Church itself all the decorations charged by light magic was shining twice as Shiny as usual.

Rumors circulated fast and everyone began to believe that Ryu was loved by the Light of The Light Goddess. After entering the main building of the church, Ralph went to talk with the priestess, asking when will the High priest would come and other stuff.

Them aside many people from the town were also present in the praying hall today it was more crowded than usual Brightest Star festival because the people were also coming to see the naming of Viscount's son who is rumored to be loved by the Goddess's Light.

"Kyra said that High priest is having a discussion with someone and will time to come," said Ralph as he come back

"What about the naming ceremony and blessing attempt? They would not change right," Kyle said and paused while looking towards Lina with sparkling eyes as he continued

"I am dying to give a name to my cute grandkid, am sure Lina will like it!!" but he was totally ignored by Lina who was constantly comforting Aiena even Ryu didn't bait him an eye and kept patting Aiena's head while thinking

'Dude, what kind of adult you are did you forget here was a kid with trauma related to this place!!!'

And Ralph too answered him a bland reply

"Yes, it would not change" while he moved towards Aiena and spoke softly to her

"Aiena, did you forget what I said? If something happened, I will protect you all. Did you not believe me??" at this Aiena answered with a wavering voice,

"I do Lord Viscount but I…..i.i" Seeing Aiena as this Lina hugged her hard and Ralph said,

"Aiena do not be afraid and hold your head high we need these people to know that no matter what they do we are not afraid of them, if something happens, I am here," after hearing this Aiena whipped all of her tears and confidently looked up and spoke confidently

"Yes, Lord Viscount, I am not scared!!!!"

And seeing them like this Kyle was wondering 'Are they fool they should've sent the heretic's daughter away when they had the chance' but he knew he could not say it, otherwise he would be strongly rebutted by her daughter.

Soon people who look somewhat important from the crowd of people started coming forward and started talking with Ralph. some other people who looked like scholars or businessmen talked with Kyle. Some of them come near Ryu too, congratulating Lina and saying stuff like,

"Rumors were right,"

"He sure seems to be loved by Goddess's Light magic!!?"

"Am sure he will get Goddess's blessing!!!"

Yet another person touched him by Holy orb and wondered when it shined more brightly that person was pushed aside by Lina saying not to touch the baby without permission. Even Ryu agrees with her sentiments,

'Yea, do not research on me. What are you!? a mad scientist examining strange phenomena, and what is with this town!? even I too recently found out about the light thing. How does every single person know about this??. Does this town have a super big network of aunties?? Why does it become a rumor this fast!!??' he was bewildered after getting examined and praised by many people continuously.

And finally, Ralph come towards them with an elderly looking person who has a silver-colored big beard, a long kind of cap on the head wearing a white robe, and a more decorative and designed Holy orb which look different from normal once and as he looked toward them, he spoke

"You did not come to school after that day, Aiena I thought you were a smart girl" His expression was looking like an elderly loving grandfather but he was giving off cold and almost haughty air which make Aiena shiver and hide behind Lina and see her like that he smiled and continued

"Can I have a look at the baby? I have heard many rumors about him suddenly,"

At this Lina, without saying anything, stared at Ralph, who nodded and she give Ryu to the High priest

"Ahh, the rumors were true. Light orb is looking brighter than usual," he said while bringing his holy orb necklace near Ryu. He gives Ryu back to Lina and said with a smile.

"In half, an hour ceremony will begin in front of Goddess statue you guys and go and sit on the Stage built near Goddess statue now. I will be back in a bit with another person who wants to see the ceremony," saying this the High priest left, and they moved to the designated sitting area on stage.
