135 Drake Raid

"It's a Drake!?" Fiona was surprised and so was everyone else, as they stood facing a gigantic lizard-like creature with horns coming out of its forehead and knees, magma filled its back and smoke rose from its nose indicating the capability of breathing fire.

'The flame orb from earlier…' Ryu thought as he began chanting his ice floor spell,

"We can't win against it!!" Fiona panicked, and Aiena, who was singing the song of vitality too, seemed scared out of her wits,

"Big brother… what should we do?" asked Jue. Although he was still shaking a bit due to drake's pressure still, he didn't fear the situation itself,

'If big brother is here… I don't fear drake!!' his reasoning was simple, but his belief was solid because,

'Because if Big Brother killed Naga at that age… he will save us from Drake too'

Ryu who stood before the towering Drake was in deep thought, it was almost weird for Drake to not attack them till now, and Fiona, Silvia, and Aiena despite being deeply scared weren't doing any careless movements. Aiena had total belief in Ryu and Pearl party members,

'A Party should wait for leader's orders and if against them wait for voting!!' Fiona reminded herself, it was an unsung rule between adventurers because if they fight between expeditions among themselves, they'll just be courting death,

'Maybe it's like the movie Prehistoric Park…' Ryu remembered a famous movie series from last life,

'Drake wouldn't attack us until we move. It is a hunter…. Now I remember mom…' Ryu's head was mostly filled with Grandpa chief's stories and other stories had low priority as they weren't something useful for future life but this time one of those is exactly what can save him,

'Mom told me… how she carelessly attacked a Drake… at Hell's Fire dungeon and then father had to save her, and then father told her Drake like to hunt so they rarely attack still standing enemies'

"I have a plan," Ryu said in a whisper loud enough to be heard by everyone aside from Drake.

Fiona slowly turned her face towards Ryu and spoke in a low voice,

"What plan?" everyone else's attention was too on Ryu, who spoke slowly as he thought,

'Wish I had telepathy'

"I will freeze the floor with the Ice chant I used on Fiona during our duel and then we will escape and along the way, I'll make walls of Ice to slow it down if it follows us. "

It was a simple yet effective plan, too simple that one might even doubt that it is something that could've been common sense for the situation. But there was still a doubt in Fiona's head who used her mana sight to gauge Ryu's mana and she couldn't help but ask.

"Is your mana enough to cover this whole room in the first place?" she wouldn't have doubted him normally after their last fight, but now in a life-and-death situation she wanted surety,

'I can't casually place Flan's and Silvia's life in his hand…' and Ryu stared deep into her eyes and snorted.

'Only Mana sense- III' and spoke,

"Okay, you'll get one glimpse but make it fast, or Drake might attack" Fiona understood what Ryu meant and used her [Mana sense- III] again as Ryu removed a part of the [Hide and Seek] effect on his mana,

"You!! You!?" Fiona was baffled because Ryu in front of him was hiding an amount of mana that even a student from Mage school finds impossible to hide.

"Shut up, there is no time to panic now we will follow the plan!!" Ryu ordered Fiona wanted to retort after being told to shut up but she held back,

Everyone nodded with belief in their eyes, even though the belief in Silvia's eyes was a bit lacking and Flan was smiling more at the madness of the plan,

'This kid sure is something!!' Flan thought, and Ryu moved towards Aiena holding her up in his arms,

'This way she can sing as we rush and her running speed is also slower,' thought Ryu, and Aiena once again felt how far they'd come from Zerah and their childhood when she used to hold Ryu up,

'If it is Ryu, we'll be safe,' she thought, after nodding once to Aiena Ryu began chanting,

"Coldness of Poles Spirit Wolf of Blizzard and Storms, Grant me your blessing, let there be Frost!!" Ryu strengthen the spell, and soon the whole floor starting near his feet began to freeze.

"Now, at a count of three!! Make sure not to slip!!"

"3," Ryu said,

"2" Jue continued,

"1" Fiona whispered, and everyone began running towards the narrow path where they entered the Drake room if they reached it, Drake wouldn't be able to follow them through the thin path, as they made their way towards the passage their heartfelt optimistic even as Drake roared behind them and breathed fire in their direction,

"… Ice wall!!" Ryu had already predicted this much and erected an Ice wall, just a few more seconds and they'll be away from danger the passage they were moving towards was long in height and even wider compared to other dungeons but still not wide enough for this monstrous Drake to enter, Fiona was nearest to passage,

"We are saved!!" she shouted, but soon find herself hitting an imaginary wall, and falling on her back,

"Ryu…" Aiena in her arms spoke in a stressed and scared voice, and Ryu put her down as he turned towards Drake who summoned fire from the floor and glowed in thin red color.

'We are f@cked!!' thought Ryu as he understood what this means,

'No one told me he would use magic!!' Ryu ordered loudly,

"Spread everywhere there is no escape don't let him hit you!! do not remain at a place for more than two minutes" Ryu, Aiena now carried by, Jue ran towards the left while everyone else ran towards the right, only Rafa rushed in a different direction,

"Each of his attacks is lethal!!" Fiona shouted as she jumped away from the magma fountain that Drake summoned from the ground. The temperature all over the room was rising. The frosted floor melted and rapidly changed into, steam adding up to heat,

"Roarrrrrr!!" The Drake rushed towards Ryu who threw a dagger at him. Ryu had told Jue to carry Aiena in another direction,

"If only Raiding bosses was as it seemed in MMO!!" Ryu shouted as he dodged Drake's claw and Rafa rushed to him, shielding him from the claw, and then rushing away,

'This is not the time to hide!!' Ryu thought as he contemplated what will happen afterward but it wasn't worth losing his or his party life over this secret, even though even unleashing that would only increase their chance of winning minutely every bit should be used,

'If I die here, I wouldn't be able to finish my revenge… this drake' Ryu stopped and turned back, looking towards Drake's huge face,

"Everyone attacks Drake!! While dodging!!" shouted Ryu, but practically only Silvia, he and Jue could attack from far away using daggers and skills, others don't have many options and Silvia was already panicking in the corner as she tried her best to use her arrows,

"[Twin Fang swords] and [Dark Reinforcement IV]!!" Ryu pulled out two purple blade dark daggers hidden in the most unnoticeable section of his dagger holder, miasma rose from his body crimson darkness made everyone who see it fazed and fearful aside from Fusion souls, everyone could feel chills going down their spine,

"Roa…roar" even Drake was overtaken by a strange fear for a second, the dark miasma and circle of black that appeared in his crimson eyes making Ryu seem menacing,

'It is different… from that one…' Rafa thought as she felt Ryu's darkness, and Fiona could feel the veins in her head throb out of pressure and power,

'A Monster…. This kid…' Fiona saw towards almost diabolic-looking Ryu, Drake who finally come out of his fear and begin attacking Ryu, who threw his Twin daggers and call them back using [Return III] skills,

He jumped and dodged attacks even though his attack has next to no effect on Drake's thick scales. He wasn't hurt either,

'If only I could go in this bastard's mouth!!' thought Ryu, but he knew it was almost impossible due to Drake's internal body temperature. It would burn Ryu,

"Don't just remain sitting attack already!!" Ryu scolded Fiona and Pearl Party because they were too stunned to move.

"You'd have to…. Answer…" Fiona tried to speak, suppressing her fear,

'He is the same brat… he is the same brat…' she tried reminding herself, but the pressure was just too much.

"I will answer anything and everything later!! Just get on distracting this dumb lizard!!" Ryu ordered and Fiona begin moving, throwing Kukri at Drake's eyes, effectively blinding one of its eyes.

"Nothing would damage his scales!!" Ryu complained as he chanted,

"The Frost of ender nights, cold and sharp, shatter my enemy apart Icicles Strike!!!!" The larger-than-usual Icicles strike formed over Ryu's shoulder, and instead of his sword they begin to emit darkness,

'How long would I be able to maintain it…' thought Ryu as he shot it,

"It worked!!!" Jue shouted as even if a bit Icicle Strike did stab a bit inside Drake's body,

"I won't be able to kill it…" Ryu muttered in a low voice so no one would hear, as he didn't want everyone to panic when he noticed something amiss.

"Rafa sister!!!" he shouted and Rafa rushed to him,

"What happened Ryu?" she asked with a calm voice, and Ryu realized,

'Of course, she is calm, because she…'

"Why are you not attacking the Drake?" Ryu asked as he finally noticed that Rafa was just focusing on saving everyone rather than attacking Drake. She looked a bit troubled and spoke,

"I promised Jue, he told me to let him have a chance with the boss... until he is unhurt…"

"So, this was it!! Rafa sister, there is no time for it. Attack it already… I will apologize to Jue along with you!!" as soon as Ryu said it,

"Okay then, I didn't want to make Jue sad," she said, but she finally understood that Ryu really needed help and so she shouted,

"I am sorry Jue!!!!" she shouted as she rushed towards Drake who for the first time seemed to be retreating stepping back and at the same time casting spells, everyone was confused as Drake created a huge orb in front of his mouth like the previous one that nearly obliterated them,

And then it happened, Pearl Party couldn't believe their eyes and Ryu finally turned off [Dark Reinforcement IV]
