Drake Raid: Dismantling

Drake began conjuring up a massive orb of flame in front of its mouth as Rafa rushed toward it. It stopped attacking everyone with focus directed on the orb,

"Everyone attack!!" shouted Ryu, because he knew even slight damage would make a difference. Rafa rushed towards Drake fearlessly as Pear Party and Jue attacked it,

'If it is now, then maybe…' thought Ryu as he used [Hide and Seek] to scan Drake,

Level- 40

Title- [777], [Flame Spawn], [Innate Mage], [Flaming Heart]

Skills- [Primal Magic], [Flame summon], [Vitwall], [Chance], [Pillar of ignis] + 10 skills)

And as soon as he saw the skills and Title of Drake, he realized how weak he still is as he thought,

'If not for Rafa sister, we would've died… this title seems strange' Ryu focused on the title,

Rafa, who neared the Drake, who was still charging the giant flaming orb, jumped towards its head. It was like she could fly silver mana seemed to collect behind her back and blinded everyone. No one could see what was happening when that much light poured into their eyes,

'Wings!?' Ryu thought as he saw through the blinding light by chance, already using [Hide & Seek] skill.

"Keep attacking!!" Ryu shouted. Silvia shotted her arrow despite not being able to see clearly, and Rafa finally slashed the orb along with Drake's face vertically, causing an explosion near its face,

No one aside from Ryu could believe their eyes, but the truth was before them Rafa had slashed Drake's face and orb in one slash. As the light reduced and wings disappeared, Rafa descended to the ground, looking mysterious yet beautiful,

'She killed it….' Fiona couldn't help but be shocked because she hadn't even heard of an A-ranked adventurer soloing a Drake,

"I killed it, Ryu!!" Rafa excitedly shouted as she rushed towards Ryu, who had turned off [Dark Reinforcement IV]. His eyes were still glowing as he was using [Hide & Seek] skill,

Ryu began running towards Rafa, too, Rafa felt like he was going to pat her and praise her, but Ryu passed by her side,

"Big brother, what are you doing?" Jue, who finally put Aiena down, questioned, confused when Ryu shouted,

"Hurry up and come here, Jue!!" Ryu reached Drake's sliced and mangled head in a few minutes using [Quickening],

'You tricky bastard, !!' thought Ryu as he began bashing the brain of the already dead Drake,

"Big brother, isn't it already dead?" Jue questioned,

"It is not; now hurry up!!"

"Okay, Big brother" Jue began bashing the other part of Drake's head, and Silvia muttered,

"Isn't doing this with a dead body… going too far"

Fiona was about to complain, but before she could open her mouth Jue excitedly shouted,

"Big brother, I felt it flow into me!!"

'You lucky brat!!" thought Ryu as he signaled Jue to use it,

"[Ignis Charge]!!" Jue shouted, as his knuckles and kukri get surrounded by light red flames,

"It is finally whole dead", Ryu sighed in relief as Jue getting the salvaged skill was guaranteed that the Drake had died,

'If I hadn't used [Hide & Seek], we would've lost our chance,' he thought as he memorized the skill effects again,

[Skill- Chance: Until the head is completely mangled, the being would revive once a day even if the head is cut off]

"Ryu, did I make a mistake?" Rafa, who looked puzzled, came near Ryu, who finally patted her as she smiled joyfully,

Fiona and Pear party was having a lot of questions in their mind, but they pushed them aside,

Everyone settled down as they discussed what to do further and to catch their breath; Aiena couldn't speak because as soon as Drake died, the Vitality stealing fog intensified,

"I wish we could harvest the Drake…." Fiona spoke honestly as she knew the value of Drake's body part was high,

"We don't have a porter, and the Drake body is too big," Ryu said,

"I want a sword made out of Drake's spine," Flan said,

'I, too, want something from it….' Ryu thought as he remembered the title of Drake; after much discussion and thought, they were finally reaching a decision,

"So simply said, your party all wish Drake's gear, so you want us to carry the stuff for you guys" both Silvia and Fiona looked ashamed, but they nodded as it was their honest desire, and Ryu grinned,

"Okay, I got it, so let's do this everyone will carry enough parts of Drake to make your party and Aiena's gear, but…."

"That will be great… I always knew you were good at heart," Fiona replied as soon as she heard a positive affirmation, but as she came to her senses, she realized Ryu said but, and Ryu continued as she stopped speaking,

"I will take one part out of the Drake body for the personal use of our party and won't share it, and also, since you guys are already accomplices, you'll share our blame with a fake name too."

Everyone got quiet, and Pearl Party was thinking hard as the offer was quite good even with the first condition, but the second condition was suspicious,

'This kid is too sly…' Fiona thought with an expression of irritation, and Flan, sitting beside her, couldn't take this weird silence anymore as she spoke casually.

"Let's accept it, leader. What's there to lose in it? We are going out of Lord Hati's territory either way."

"So what's your decision? Hurry up, Aiena can't keep singing the whole day," Ryu added to put pressure on Fiona,

"I agree!! It's a deal."

As soon as Fiona said it, Ryu grinned, making her feel as if she had been tricked,

'Even though we won't be alive without his party… this kid gets on my nerves!!' Fiona thought as she felt she was being fooled somehow,

As Aiena was busy singing and already looking exhausted, Ryu, Jue, and Flan dismantled the parts they needed for their equipment. After everything was completed, Ryu sent Flan and Jue to carry the tied-up material to Silvia to put in the bag,

'and they are enough,' grinned Ryu as he took out the most expensive item from Drake,

Afterward, he carried a part of Drake's spine and meat back to Silvia. They decided to rest for an hour before proceeding to the boss room; no one was afraid of being defeated as they had witnessed Rafa's strength before. Ryu used [Power napping] to recover while Fiona sharpened her kukri. Even though her eyes were focused on Rafa, she didn't dare ask any questions,

'I thought the kid was odd… but….'

"Do you want help?" Rafa tilted her head, as she couldn't understand why Fiona would stare at her, and Fiona replied a bit awkwardly,

"It is nothing. I was just wondering where Miss Rafa learned swordsmanship."

"I don't remember" Rafa didn't even know if she ever learned swordsmanship, for that matter, but she added,

"All I do is slash and dodge."

'For someone like you, it must be enough…' Silvia thought as she gulped, and Fiona spoke,

"I see, that sure is helpful" she was trying hard to speak it naturally so Rafa wouldn't figure out the sarcasm,

Rafa waved her hand to Fiona as she ate the bread they carried in.

After 15 mins, Ryu finally woke up, and everyone was ready to head inside the boss room. Something strange happened,

"I think Rafa big sister should take Vanguard", Jue spoke plainly,

"I will be behind with Jue too, then", Fiona added. Each of their statements implied they wanted to let Rafa stand forefront in formation, but each of their reasons was different,

'If I hadn't made that stupid promise, big brother wouldn't have to reveal his manifest', thought Jue filled with a guilty conscience. Even though Pearl Party didn't ask any questions so far, it would be a different matter outside of the dungeon, and knowing his teacher's personality, he knew Fiona would ask about it for sure,

'I wouldn't want to be near her when she swings a sword!!!!' Fiona's reason was more akin to self-preservation.

"Rafa sister, would you stand in front?" Ryu asked, and Rafa nodded. With the changed formation and great wariness, they moved near the giant door that was made out of charcoal and graphite with red glowing unknown metal shining in between,

Rafa put her hand on the door, pushing it open, and as the door, they all crawled inside the dimly lit core room, but something was strange,

"What in the hell!? Is it triple suicide!?" Ryu was the first to speak as he looked towards three mysterious corpses on the floor.
