Chapter 16: Core Mechanic.

I almost forgot I still have Core Mechanic which I wanted to play with. As I go to use the skill and begin to realize there is something weird with this ability it shows me all sorts of status information and even the DNA of the monster I am.

What's crazy is with the core mechanic skill I can even alter the fundamental building blocks of the creature I am. But just as I get used to reading the information a sudden shift occurs, the whole scene goes from a sort of filling system to a small 8 oz. bottle.

What happened, did the system correct my mind or something. I check the system out the new set up and it's crazy there is a HUD and everything giving details about all my skills and abilities all linked to a mushroom in a bottle. I can tell for now that the heart of it is the mushroom.

The water in the vessel is my skill points while the dirt in there is my biomass. It looks like I have to expand my vessel/bottle over time or I won't be able to hold everything. Besides that I notice a bunch of rocks scattered around and when I go to inspect one of them it turns out to be my Silent Lotus Dance skill. All the rocks look unique from one another.

So if I'm getting this straight the bottle is my core limit the dirt is my biomass the rocks are my skills, as I look around I notice a few seeds. Those must be my mutations! I check and I'm right. Wow such a beautiful interface I wouldn't have ever been able to understand it all without it. And when I was about to close out of this ability I noticed something moving... It's a bug!

Not any bug but the exact one I was just fighting but, a lot smaller. I can't believe it, my core absorbed it and reconstructed it inside of this terrarium world. Almost forget to check on the mushroom. It seems it is destined to be a gatherer as well. I'm glad I grew appendages, maybe I should be a warrior in my next evolution. The mushroom in the bottle might grow legs.

I wonder if I can get them earlier than that. I try using my Mental magic on my core to see if I can do anything. Sounds like a good first step. As I begin circulating Mental magic a translucent shimmering rainbow bloom of smoke comes out of the bottle moving to the rocks knocking through other objects almost unfazed until it hits the rock which I assume to be my Mental magic affinity bouncing off of it onto another rock across the vessel.

Then gray light comes out of one of the same ornate rock, shining across the bottle to one of the seeds. I wonder do I even have to circulate it through the rock or can I do some of the lifting making the same mana from my core. The whole thing took place simultaneously with mana being pulled from my core to the gland in my body and back to my core.

While a sudden plume of gray smoke appears around the bottle itself. That must be the Mental magic from the gland. Let's see if I can set up a link to the mushroom in the middle. As I bring the mana through my core and into the bottle I begin to realize nothing in there has a mind. Not even the mushroom in the middle. To be honest the mushroom works more like a controller than anything else. It is currently mapped to my might, toughness, cunning, and will. I can feel the internal DNA structures building up each one of these stats and their associated links to themselves and DNA.

Bring that seed closer to those rocks… I belt my command into the core. If by magic the gland in my body moves close enough to be wrapped around my core. What did you do again… moved a little seed, what the hell. There must be some kind of link between the seeds location and my body. What would it do if I moved the mushroom around... This bottle must be made of mana stones or something. I wonder what it all means.
