The Rescue

Mr. Brooks' class took longer than I'd expected, I felt my belly biting me, and I clutched it like I just got hit with a rock there. "Is everything ok?" Amber asked, seeing my posture. "Eh yeah, I'll be fine" I gasp.

I couldn't concentrate, I just flipped the pages of my book for no good reason. I was really hungry and Mr. Brooks was standing in the way of that.

I was perplexed when I heard my name, "Isabella can you tell us the difference between mammals and non-mammals?." I heard Mr. Brooks' voice, I rolled my eyes to be sure I was the one he was talking to. I hadn't been paying attention enough at first, it was Sabastian now, this rumbling noise in my stomach.

The whole class was quiet for a minute waiting for my response. "I'm sorry sir, I am." My trembling voice couldn't let me defend myself. The whole class started laughing, I felt miserable. I guess fate wasn't on my side. Elena raised her hand to bail me out of my misery, luckily she got the answer correctly, I couldn't bear the shame. I felt more like a loser. I noticed how disappointed Sabastian was from the look on his face.

"Well. It seems we still have brilliant ones amongst us." Mr Brooks complimented.

I walked through the big hall of the cafeteria with my lunch on a silver tray. I searched for an empty seat, and I finally found one.

I was savoring my meal when I heard what ruined my appetite. "She can't even afford the tuition fee, because her mom is a toilet cleaner."

"Yeah, she doesn't belong here!" Someone replied.

I felt betrayed, it was Elena who brought up the topic. I can't believe she did that.

I was brought out of my misery when I heard Blake's voice "Can we join you?." I looked up just to find him and Sabastian standing in front of me with the meal! I gasp.

"I'm sorry about earlier, you know in the class," Sabastian said, staring at me.

"You're supposed to sit at my table Sab, and not with this loser," Elena said with a mischievous look on her face. Sabastian chuckled. "You don't get to choose who I sit with, go play with your pack or something," Sabastian replied instead. Which filled my belly with butterflies. Was he protecting me even from his Elena?

"You heard him princess." Blake retorted. "Besides you're the Alpha of the lunastras', why don't you go give them a pep talk or something?" I just sat there watching the whole drama. You're betraying your kind just because of a human! you'll surely regret this act." Sabastian turned to face her this time, "Is that a threat?"

I watched her walk away in disbelief, she never saw that coming. But, is Sabastian trying to break up with her? I thought for a moment "That didn't make Sense."

Elena left the cafeteria without her crew or was it her "pack" as they call it?

"Can I come to your house today?" Sabastian asked with a smile on his face, his angry face brightened up. " w-what" I said almost in a shout.

"Why do you want to come to my house?" I asked

"For evening lessons," Blake said, letting out a laugh.

"Gosh ...You're such a dumb ass-" Sebastian coursed hitting him playfully. I smiled at how childish they were acting, well thanks to them my day wasn't ruined as Elena planned.

"There's something I would like us to discuss, and it's serious," Sab said.

"Well you can tell me here" I replied in curiosity. "It should be at your house or maybe you should come to my place instead." He said smirking

Was he blushing? Because it's written all over him. I couldn't take my eyes off him. He even looks more handsome than I ever knew.

"Why would I come to your house, is it for another party?" I replied instead.

"You both should get a room already," Blake said, getting up from his seat. He shook Sabastian "I'll see you later bro."

"Hey, are you gonna leave me with this brat?" I aske

d but Blake only gave me a wink and walked away.
