134 Issue #14

Odin was furious at being called a 'side piece' but he could not fight back. Even with his immense power, the goddess was on an entirely different level from him. It was like the difference between himself and Thor.

So even though he was furious at the insult, Odin could only swallow his pride and try to persuade Gaia not to get involved in the battle.

"Gaea! Why are you getting involved in these matters when they do not concern you?!"

Gaia smiled back at Odin.

"This does concern me, though. Below is my most loyal priestess and you have brought an army into the domain that she has dedicated to me."

Gaea made her stance clear. She would be involved in this matter and would not let Odin do as he pleased.

"I will compromise with you though. Instead of a war, the ones below us can have duels for the realms. Since there are 4 Realms that they are fighting for, let there be 4 matches.

Each match shall determine the ruler and owner of each Realm for the next hundred years. And since it would be unfair if either you or I got involved, we shall not partake in these battles. What do you say, Odin?" Gaea questioned him

Although she could force Odin to leave, she could not constantly be involved in this matter and always protect the Cabal members. Thus, she decided on this method in hopes that the people Morgan had allied herself with were strong enough to stand on their own.

Odin thought about her proposal. He knew what she was thinking but he also knew just how dangerous she was if she was angered. If Odin refused, she may have wiped out all of the Asgardians in a fit of rage.

"Fine!" Odin reluctantly agreed

Gaea nodded. She then created a powerful contract from pure magic and placed it in front of Odin. The contract had all the terms she had listed before and how the matches would be held.

"Perfect. Then the rounds are to be held in this order: Svartalfheim, Nidavellir, Jotunheim, and Asgard. Sign the contract if you agree and determine who shall participate in each round for your side while this side determines who shall battle in each round for their side."

Odin looked it over and nodded when he confirmed that the contract stated everything Gaea had said, word for word. He quickly signed the names of those that would fight and in what order they would battle as well. He then implanted a piece of his soul in the contract. If he was to break it, he would be trapped in Tartarus for all of eternity.

"When shall the battles be?" Odin asked, fearing that her side would be allowed a large amount of prep time. He knew better than anyone that the more time a sorcerer had, the more preparations and chances of victory a sorcerer would have in the upcoming battle.

"We can begin immediately. Send out your first champions!" Gaea ordered both sides

Without surprise, Morgan flew forward and stood on top of Camelot's walls. Since she was going to be Avalon's queen, she had to be the one to also be its protector.

On Odin's side, he had sent Beta Ray Bill out as their first champion. He wanted to make a statement by using their second strongest member to crush their first member. This would increase his side's morale and decrease the morale of th opposing sides.

"I do not wish to harm you but since you stand in the way of Asgard, the only mercy I can give you is to take you down as swiftly as possible."

Bill raised Stormbreaker above his head as he gathered storm clouds above himself. The hammer began to glow orange before several lightning bolts struck the hammer from above and changing the glow to yellow.

Morgan watched this in boredom before raising her right hand and pointing a finger toward Beta Ray Bill. Large amounts of magical energy gathered at the tip of her finger. The power was enough that even her 3 allies had to take a step back for fear of their own magical energy being added to her own.

The dup fired their blasts of energy at each other but there was no clash of energy that caused an explosion or a beam struggle. Morgan's magical energy simply overpowered Beta Ray Bill's attack before taking the energy as its own and increasing the strength of the blast.

Before the blast could kill Beta Ray Bill, he was teleported away by Gaea. The goddess looked at Odin with a smug smile on her face.

"Do you accept that this round was your loss? Because we can allow them to battle under the same circumstances once again," Gaea offered

"I accept!" Odin agreed begrudgingly

What Odin and the others failed to realize was that the chances of Morgan losing from the very beginning were zero. She was in her home turf of Camelot which was stationed above several ley lines. She could channel all of the magical energy in the realm from where she was standing. Morgan also had her goddess nearby which empowered her even further.

Morgan inside of Camelot could repel Odin for several days under the right circumstances, let alone dealing with Beta Ray Bill.

"You have all heard it. The first round shall go to Morgan and Svartalfheim/Avalon shall be under her rule for the next 100 years! This I degree!"

The Cabal's forces cheered and roared as loud as they could. What Odin was hoping to use to boost his own force's morale had worked against him. But he was not worried.

'They sent their strongest out first. Loki is easy enough to deal with while the other pair cannot be as powerful as her. Let's just see how this will end.'
