DREAM AND MEMORIES

CHAPTER 31

Staring over the unconscious Graceilla, Guillermo had never felt so guilty about himself. He was the reason why his daughter did what she did. He couldn't bare the thought of seeing his only daughter's cadaver if ever she get wasted for attempting suicide.

He may know that it might not be the most righteous thing to do, to use their money just for Graceilla to have the man she wanted, but, what would be the use of all his wealth if he would lose his daughter.

Guillermo had contemplated over the silent room, simply staring at his daughter. Several tubes were connected to her body and some even looked like wires. He didn't bother to know everything, she trusted the medical experts, as he had chosen the best doctor he knew.

He never actually thought that Graceilla would end up that way. He knew his daughter is not a normal human and he knew that she had capabilities that she might not know yet.

He remembered what Vanora said before she left. He needs to send her daughter to the sea a week before and after her twentieth birthday. That day she would know the truth. She might transform and that day would be the day where she would choose where to live.

He was worried that Graceilla might choose to live by the sea and might leave him. So he had to make sure that would help her decide to stay on the land. Like having a husband.

However, Guillermo was also aware that it must not be anyone he could pick. He had to make sure that it was someone that Graciella truly liked, and that was the son of the Dela Croix, Daerin.

Not long, Guillermo's eyes felt heavy and he dozed off on the hospital's watcher's bed. They were in a private room and Graceialla's room was one of the most expensive private rooms in that hospital. So, even the watcher's bed was pretty much comfortable.

Guillermo was gasping for breath as he was trying to kick himself out of the water. All he could see was water around him like he was in the middle of an ocean. He was trying to swim against the tide when he saw a little driftwood, enough for him to rest as he could start to feel the tiredness on his legs.

It seemed like he was too weak in swimming, not like before. However, everything was different. Before, he could never get tired of staying in the water, because he had with him the love of his life. She was the prettiest being he had ever seen.

He would never lose out of oxygen before even how deep he dived without a thank on his back. He became a millionaire after getting the world record of having the deepest and longest dive. Nevertheless, no one knew that it wasn't just his mere capabilities. No one knew that his lover mermaid had been helping him.

It was just a memory since it had been years since he had ever heard of Vanora. But at least she left him a child. He could even remember the last day he saw her.

He was out of town, diving with other friends and left the pregnant Vanora alone in the city home. They were rich enough to simply let Vanora stay at their house safely and simply let their assistants do errands for them.

However, that stormy evening. Guillermo was trapped on the island and couldn't go back home was the day Vanora started to feel pain in her tummy. She was about to deliver their baby.

Both Vanora and Guillermo knew that she couldn't go to the hospital. Since they both didn't know how a human mermaid would let out her infant. She was pretty sure that she could come out as a mermaid and not a human. So, they need to be careful about going to the hospital.

Vanora locked the door and just asked to call Guillermo. However, all her helpers couldn't reach him and were aware that Guillermo couldn't go back home that night.

"Madam, open the door, please. You need to go to the hospital. You're about to deliver the baby!" It was her anxious helper knocking and screaming at her door.

Vanora could also hear the sound of the engine from downstairs. The driver was getting ready with the car. They were already planning to send Vanora to the hospital after not hearing from their boss Guillermo.

Vanora was wincing as she tried to reach out for her phone and tried to dial Guillermo's number again. But all she could hear was the beeping sound that indicated 'no signal'. She was helpless and the pain in her tummy was getting stronger and stronger that she couldn't almost bear.

However, she had no choice but to do it herself. She made sure that the door was locked to keep away all her human helpers. None of them knew who she truly was and it wasn't the time for them to know.

Letting them see her conceiving a mermaid child might not be a good idea. So, Vanora simply tried to ignore their worrisome shouting outside her door and never answered them. She just has to let out the egg and clean the baby, dry it out and she would be a human. Then, everything would be fine and her helpers could begin helping her.

That was what was in Vanora's plan.

Nonetheless, Vanora was in terrible pain and was screaming in pain. Their assistants started to worry and decided by themselves without asking Vanora.

"Moy! Moy!" The helper called the driver. "We need to bring Madam to the hospital. But her room is locked."

"Why is it locked? Who locked it?" Moy asked, wondering.

"I don't know, maybe she does but it doesn't matter to Moy. We need to find a way to open it and help her."

Moy nodded and looked around. " I need to find something to use. Wait for me here and I'll grab a crowbar downstairs." Without wasting another minute Moy ran downstairs.

"Move faster Moy," the helper pushed him by yelling.
