12 The Final Exam Begins
During the time before the final exams began, Ye Qin and Wang Tao went to school while other students gave them weird looks as they walked by. During theory classes, the two naturally didn't pay attention causing the teacher from both their classes to frown.
In Ye Qin's case, his female teacher didn't mind him too much since he is pretty much guaranteed to score highly in the written exam. As for Wang Tao, his teacher asked him many questions as he answered them perfectly without leaving out any details causing not only his teacher but the entire class to be shocked.
For both the boys, the battle classes had no meaning, Ye Qin is still thought to be weak while Wang Tao didn't bother competing against anyone since he knew he would completely crush his entire class by himself.
This continued until the very day of the written exam as the two entered their respective classrooms and took the written exam with examiners as well as teachers watching over their every move. Though it may be an extremely important exam that affects their future, the rules were quite lax. Anyone who has finished the written exam is allowed to hand in their paper and head home as soon as they hand it in, however, they could not stay on school grounds.
Naturally, Ye Qin with his knowledge answered every question easily as the pen in his hand moved across the paper with speeds that are thought to be impossible for humans. After perfectly answering every question, Ye Qin turned around and faced the examiner that's standing behind him and staring at his paper with their eyes wide open like it would pop out of its sockets.
Ye Qin handed his paper in then headed home whilst the examiner was still shocked seeing Ye Qin's expansive knowledge. The examiner then looked at the watch on his left wrist only to see that it had barely been 20 minutes making them almost fall on their butt! One had to know, the exam is given a period of three hours and the number of questions was over twenty!
Not only did the student before him answer rapidly, but each question was also filled with answers that even he didn't know of himself!
Once the two boys handed in their exams, they both went off-campus and headed home as they waited for the second half of the exam to begin the week after.

The week after the written exams, the results were announced. Each and every student gathered at school to see their results that affected their very lives.
Ye Qin and Wang Tao walked towards the noticeboard together and pushed through the crowd as they made their way to the front of the board. Looking up, at the number one spot was Ye Qin's name along with a perfect score of 300 while number two is Wang Tao with another perfect score of 300. As for the number 3 spot, they had scored just over 270 creating a giant chasm between the first two and the third spot.
The crowd behind them naturally knew of Ye Qin known as the 'Bookworm' who is always seen reading a book, seeing that he scored a perfect score they didn't think too much of it as if it were a natural thing. However, they didn't dare imagine that his best friend Wang Tao known to be a stupid sweat pants for a young master would also score a perfect score in the written exam!
Since the two had seen that they secured the top two places, they went on a bus they took every student to a large arena where the second half of the Final Exam took place.

During the journey, Wang Tao sitting next to Ye Qin said quietly "Boss, I hope that we're in the same class next year once we make it into the War God Academy."
The War God Academy, known as the Number one Academy for monster trainers located in New Shanghai to become soldiers and fight on the frontlines. During the long history of monster trainers, the War God Academy was founded by one of the top 5 Trainers of the time.
Since then many rising stars and leaders of the monster trainer world had graduated from the academy and became the future leaders of their generation! It's the dream of all trainers to be able to attend this academy even though it wasn't located in the capital city, New Beijing.
"War God Academy huh, getting into any of the top three academies will make your parents and ancestors proud. I'm fine with any of the three academies as long as I can become a soldier." Ye Qin replied softly.
The Top Three academies in New China, War God Academy, Nine Peaks Academy, and Heaven's Gate Academy. Each of the three located in different locations and were founded each by one of the Top Five trainers of their generation. Each of the three was rivals making each of the three spots rotate every few years.
Getting into any of the three academies that were founded solely for Monster Trainers was a dream come true. No matter which of the three one gets into, it would be enough to brag for three generations of their families!

Once they arrived at the arena known as The Ministry of Education Arena (MEA), every student got off slowly and went into their respective class groups. The MEA expanded over a vast piece of land which is over one kilometer in diameter enabled multiple battles to take place at once. Not only that multiple schools took their exams at the venue along with recruiters from every Monster Trainer Academy in New China gathered in the venue!
Ye Qin standing nonchalantly in his class group felt a familiar presence behind him, turning around he saw his class representative standing behind him looking as if she wanted to say something to him.
"Do you have something to say, class rep?" he asked politely.
The class rep stood there with red ears while her friends teased her, looking up at Ye Qin's handsome face, it took a while for her to be able to open her mouth and say "Goodluck!" before turning around and escaped.
"..."
"Am I that scary? I thought I was pretty handsome, maybe I'm actually a narcissist?" he thought.
The second half of the Final Exam known as the Battle Exam took place over many days. Every school was to determine the top three students from each class before making them battle it out until the top three students from each school remained. Once this had been decided, each school was to compete against each other to create a ranking before students are chosen amongst them to enter a Monster Training College.
Those who aren't selected directly can only send applications to an academy and hope for their acceptance and if this is denied they have no choice but to go to a second or third rate college.
This cruel method of choosing amongst the best of the best where the strong eat the weak had been used for many years. This is to enable the best to be able to fight on the front line and enable humanity to take back their old home. However, during the past few decades, the chosen students had been disappointing and the leaders of their generation were only amongst the middle-level trainers amongst the previous generations.
Each year, the academies hoped for a glimmer of hope to arise however they kept becoming disappointed with the new generation, eventually lowering their standards while the top three Academies barely had any students.
Ye Qin's school all gathered in one spot of the MEA whilst cameras and drones are placed around them for all Recruiters to monitor every school without traveling around to each and every school.
Once this happened, the battle to choose the top three amongst each class begun that day! Ye Qin's class all competed against each other until it finally came to Ye Qin's turn to fight.

Ye Qin's opponent Xie Xuefeng was one of the bullies in his class and also one of the stronger students. Xie Xuefeng along with his friends laughed at the former and told him to forfeit else he would face humiliation.
Naturally, Ye Qin ignored their words as he stood across from Xie Xuefeng on a battlefield that was limited to a space of just over thirty meters for them to duel. A referee blew the whistle as the battle began.
Xie Xuefeng called his monster out with a flash of red light. "There it is! Xie Xuefeng's Flame Hellhound!"

[Level: 8]
"..."
Looking at Xie Xuefeng's proud face, Ye Qin saw it's level of a mere 8 and smiled causing the former to frown before sneering.
"Hurry up and call out your fish! Oh, wait can it even battle on land? Hahahaha!" he said out loud.
The referee interrupted and asked Ye Qin, "Do you want me to change the landscape of the field?"
"No need." Ye Qin said as he called out his Golden Koi.
Whoosh!
With a flash of gold light, a large koi fish jumped out from the other plane and floated in the air elegantly.
"Oh? Your little fish grew a bit bigger and can fly now? Looks like this will last a bit longer than I thought." Xie Xuefeng laughed.
"I'll give you a handicap and allow you to make the first move." he said.
"You sure?" Ye Qin asked.
"What do you mean? Even if I let you make a hundred moves you still wouldn't be able to beat me!" Xie Xuefeng shouted.
"Alright then." Ye Qin said as he told his partner to headbutt the Flame Hellhound.
Whoosh!
Before it could even react, the Gold Koi looked as if it had teleported in front of the Flame Hellhound and headbutted it, sending it flying out of the field instantly!
Ding!
[Xp+ 30]
The referee blew the whistle and shouted "Ye Qin wins!"
"WHAT?!"
"Ye Qin won against Xie Xuefeng? With one move too!" someone in his class shouted.
"Impossible!" You must've cheated! There's no way this can happen!" the bullies and Xie Xuefeng shouted at Ye Qin.
The referee frowned before saying to them "Are you questioning me?!"
"..."
Hearing this they couldn't utter a word, while Ye Qin ignored them as his partner became golden light and returned into his monster sea. He then sat down next to his class rep as he awaited his next battle.

The class rep sitting next to him pulled on his sleeve causing Ye Qin to turn around and face her. "Yes?" he asked.
"You won..." she said.
"Yep." he replied.
"Congratulations." she said.
"Thanks." he replied once again as the two of them sat down quietly and watched the remaining matches.
Once it was the class reps turn to fight, the bullies walked up to Ye Qin and pulled his collar before saying "You, how did you win? What trick did you use?"
"..."
"Why don't you complain to the ref?" Ye Qin asked without a hint of emotion on his face.
"You!" the leader of the bullies shouted.
"Enough! Let go of Ye Qin" their homeroom teacher said which made the bullies let go of him and back off.
Ye Qin bowed towards his teacher before sitting back down quietly as if it had nothing to do with him.
