Diving Deep

At the beach, I stripped all of my makeshift apparel off and I strode into the surf to wash all the ashes, blood, and other fluids I had gotten on me in the past days.

As I started to swim in the surf further and further out, a memory played in my head. A megalodon of monstrous level had killed me the first time I had ever spawned in this hellscape. I decided to find another and get revenge.

As I amped my limbs with mana, I started to swim through the water at the speed of a torpedo. In minutes, I saw big ass fucking shark in the depths. I pointed my body towards it as I removed my broadsword from my inventory.

I was doing dolphin kicks so hard and so fast that I reached it faster than it was able to turn towards me. My sword impaled the beast straight through the body above its body. It did not die instantly, so I twisted my sword and pulled it at an angle. I cut a huge portion of meat straight from the megalodon's back.

The megalodon twisted its head as it opened its mouth to swallow me whole. I brought my sword around and thrusted it in the overgrown shark's right eye. It pierced through with some resistance. The shark thrashed around for a moment like a giant shish kebab on the end of my sword. As it stilled, a blue window opened next to me underwater.

I quickly read what the information said and then I swam back towards the surface of the water. My lungs needed oxygen and they let me know that. Mana was a supplement that wouldn't cut it for long.

As soon as my mouth and then head broke the surface of the water, I took a long breath of air and started to swim back towards the shore. It only took me a few minutes to reach the shore from the distance I had swum and had been pulled by the currents of the ocean.

On the shore, I searched up my weapon and the information about it from the system.

{Input: Read off to me the information of the last item in my item slot.}

{Response: Water Maniac's Trident. This is an ascendant item that is unique and will be bound to you when it touches your hands.

It will allow you to separate the oxygen in the water, allowing you to breathe. You could sleep underwater if you wanted.

It will allow you to shoot water through the shaft of the Trident, propelling you through the water at a speed otherwise unattainable.

This weapon does not add any stats, instead, it will automatically form a perfected aura from the soul that resides within.

The one who made this weapon delved too deep into the ocean and encountered a creature he was never meant to see at his level.}

I was surprised that the Trident didn't add any stats. Instead, it gave me an especially perfected aura about the blade, I would have to try it out. In fact, I would go right back into the water with it.

I removed the trident from my inventory. It was about eight feet long, was completely golden in color, and had three bladed prongs. There was a portion of the shaft that also had spikes running down it. I could use it to slash, but most effectively, to stab.

I smiled as I walked into the surf. It was time to hunt down some ancient ass overgrown sharks. The one I had killed before had given me enough experience to level up a lot. Even if I didn't need the points as much anymore, I needed the engrams.

I gripped the trident and I willed it to propel me forward. It propelled me about 10 times faster than I could swim before. Now I was like a freaking jet, but underwater.

The underwater breathing option was extremely weird. It went against my instincts to breathe in the water at first, but I got the hang of it. The water in my mouth melted as the hydrogen and oxygen was separated on a molecular level.

Within two minutes, I saw three more megalodons in front of me. They were all swimming in a pack. There was just one problem. One was an alpha. It had a blue aura which was supposed to be a very powerful one. The raptor I had killed before had a green aura.

As soon as the megalodons saw me they began to swim over towards me. When I saw them swimming towards me at full speed, I grinned underwater. I was going to fuck them all to hell regardless of how powerful they were.

I activated the aura on my Trident. Instead of my typical black aura, It was white and blue and it seemed to churn like crashing waves. As it activated, I accelerated forward using the specific option of the trident.

With the speed from the trident and the aura from it, I lanced completely through one of the megalodons that did not have aura. There was no resistance at all. The megalodon was just dead.

From my wake, crimson blood spread as fast as lightning through the water. The other two megalodons went into a frenzy. They began to bite huge chunks from the body of their comrade.

I quickly turned around and aimed for the megalodon with aura. I activated the jet on my trident again and I shot through the water towards the monstrous beast.

As my trident hit it, It drew blood, but I didn't even get a foot deep in its hide. The megalodon turned sharply in the water and its jaws clamped tightly around the blade of my trident. I could feel it try to press down on my trident as though it was trying to crush bones, but the blade enshrouded in a perfect aura only lacerated its mouth.

I twisted the trident in the megalodon's mouth and brought it up towards the roof of the beast's mouth. The three prongs pierced through to the megalodon's head. It thrashed a few times and then was still.

The other megalodon circled around me and was heading straight towards my legs. There was just one problem, my trident was stuck in the skull of the dead alpha megalodon.

I released my grip on the trident and I kicked right above the head of the megalodon. I quickly opened my inventory and removed my trusty broadsword. With it, I sheathed it in my black aura and then drove my blade right through the megalodon's eye socket.

Everything had all happened in the blink of an eye. If I had not received so many points in speed, then I would have surely died. I would have to put all my future points into speed.

I swam over to the body of the megalodon and retrieved my trident. I had almost breathed in water without the trident which would have been catastrophic.

Suddenly, a blue system window opened in front of me.

I quickly put all my six free stat points from leveling up into speed. I could feel time slow down around me even more. It was an exhilarating feeling.

I quickly looked over the megalodon's bodies to see if they had dropped any loot. The alpha had. There was a magic sigil in its inventory.

After that, I swam to the shore. It was time to go back to the base and prepare for a war that might last for a good while.
